  1. True. In the NBA though, it is different. If you get waived, and another team signs you, you get your guarantee from the team that waived you, and what you signed for. A raise for sucking so much, a team would rather pay you not to be around.
  2. non contenders aren't going to sign him , why even pick up a minimal expense. Most contenders are pretty set at SS. Andrus doesn't have many options. He'll get time now, and if he earns it, he can play 2B when TA gets back. Most other places, he's riding pine most of the time. Would probably start for a little while in Tampa, but once Franco gets back, he might get sent home.
  3. Yes but he is going to want to go to a place he will play a lot.
  4. It's a tough spot to put a kid with barely any experience above AA in. I wouldn't give up on him at all. But he needs to be eased in. I think Andrus, even though he really isn't very good anymore, will outplay him the next 3 to 5 weeks until TA comes back.
  5. If he's been released, he's gone through waivers. Sometimes they jump the gun and say he's been released when he still needs to go through waivers and there is no chance he will be claimed. So we really don't know if the Sox could sign him today, but RH is getting a semi mulligan here. He can't fail on this.
  6. Andrus is the guy they need until TA comes back. He sucks, but less than what they put out there now, and less than whatever else they could put together. The guy actually has a decent WAR.
  7. It's being implied that he is talking about the White Sox. That is what the thread is about. And he sure does sound like he's found Nirvana playing for a last place team that supposedly wants to win, but acquired him for a contract dump.
  8. He's not good enough to be on the team he apparently has a problem with. Same with Keuchel. The guy is apparently happier playing out the string, than playing for a team that at least has a shot at the playoffs. What does that say about Spanky?
  9. How can it not be accurate? He couldn't beat out Zavala.
  10. Generally, teams what to keep their useful players. They exposed Zavala to waivers eariler this year. No one claimed him. Now they would rather have him than McGuire. The Blue Jays would rather have Collins than McGuire. Soon, the Red Sox will rather have another below average catcher than McGuire.
  11. He couldn't stick on the 2022 White Sox, a team that you want everyone to rip apart, as a back up catcher. That says enough.
  12. The guy is a fringe major leaguer. He should be careful. Popping off about old teams won't give fringe players more opportunity. The guy apparently said nothing when he was here. Why? I know some people are eager for anyone to rip the White Sox. So far, the players who have ripped them, McGuire and Keuchel, were 2 players who didn't help at all when it came to winning, and were part of the problem. Now it's really interesting to hear what they say? Who cares what they say? I know the White Sox deserve a ripping, and change is needed. But these idiots shouldn't be the ones with their mouths going.
  13. It would be more meaningful if it came from a guy who actually permformed. Not another guy who underperformed. He's lucky he's in the major leagues. 2 organizations gave up on him in the last 6 months.
  14. It's nice Spanky and his .550 OPS is popping off. I also am glad he really enjoys playing for a last place team.
  15. He had a sub .600 OPS. Was he one of the slackers?
  16. Tony's going to be mumbling and wiping his face big time at the post-game press conference tonight.
  17. Maybe it's just me, but guys who put up a .546 OPS really shouldn't be popping off.
  18. Sox might not score their second run this series until Wednesday.
  19. It is, but you have to figure he is right in there now with all personnel decisions. The farther away the better. Hopefully someone can get through to J R and can keep him on the payroll with a big title, but basically be a ghost payroll person.
  20. The problem with him being reassigned is the new manager would be yet another guy that had to answer to him.
