  1. I told you this when they brought him back. Ron Kittle actually once played CF.
  2. An OF of Jimenez, Pollock and Vaughn is begging the baseball Gods for trouble.
  3. Sure why not, but...we all knew what the Sox needed. First, another starter as for some reason they didn't even want a draft pick for Rodon. So they get Velasquez. They need a 2B. So Big Energy gets the call. They are very right handed and need someone who rakes RHP. Pollock is their answer. They need more bullpen help. How about an injured Joe Kelly. Teana sign guys that don't work out all the time, yet you could see the logic in their signings. These work out just like anyone would have expected. It should cost multiple people their jobs.
  4. Rick Hahn had about as bad of an offseason as any executive has ever had that thought they were playing for multiple championships. Only Lance Lynn's knee saved him from total failure as he lucked into Cueto. Clean house JR. You are farther along than the Bulls. Hiring someone who knows what they are doing can get you back on track next year. But Rick ,Kenny and Tony have to go bye bye.
  5. This team sleepwalks through so many games, and no one is ever held accountable. Gee, I wonder why it keeps happening?
  6. The sad part is the Sox are going to be stuck with him next year.
  7. We will never know for sure what would have happened, but if he did what he did that was a DP and would have saved a run.
  8. Pitching to this guy is interesting especially since you're conceding the run anyway.
  9. Except for the leadoff single in the 1st and the Homer, the exit velos have been pretty soft.
  10. 4 runs won't win this game, but Clev might have 10 by the 4th inning.
  11. DFA'd again. I wonder if the D Backs will soon have a leaderless clubhouse.
  12. If you are signing him with the belief that anything he does this season is gravy, good. If you expect anything from him this year, bad. It was interesting to read what Boras said about Rocker in the article. I think the comp plan where they get a draft pick one selection lower, gives teams an out with any kind of alarm bell. I bet if the comp for not signing Rocker was a 2nd or 3rd rounder this year, he'd be a Met.
  13. Never did it at Sox Park, but one Sox /Cubs game at Wrigley, my brother and I ate a grand slam. A hot dog, Italian, Polish and a brat. To top it off, we stopped at Weiners Circle and had a cheddar burger.
  14. I've never understood why Chicago is known for their hot dogs without ketchup and deep dish pizza when the Italian Beef is a much better local product.
  15. I get that thinking in a way, but for what it is going to cost, sustained winning ends if he leaves.
  16. Too bad the Sox couldn't come up with the extra $200-300k when they almost signed him as an amateur.
  17. there is next to zero chance the Sox would put together a package impressive enough, plus if it was possible, there would be less than a zero chance they ever could extend him.
