  1. Moncada is 0 for 10 with 8 strikeouts vs. Snell. So he bats 2nd. Sorry Miguel, you are no longer a candidate.
  2. While I will not doubt Tony has a pacemaker, and it may have had some issues, I do think there is more to this story than that. There are hundreds of thousands of people with pacemakers. They aren’t told to immediately quit their job, but it’s still OK to sort of do your job, like Tony was watching games and consulting with Cairo. But I will take it. 2 years probably wasted. At least one for sure. Get someone who actually doesn’t think results are too easy.
  3. After this last experience, I do think managers matter. I don’t like Tony. Couldn’t stand him his first tour with the team. The DUI to me was just another opportunity for an out the Sox had realizing this idea was bad. Just listen to Tony when he was hired and watch an old clip when he was with the Cardinals, A’s and White Sox in the 80s. It’s night and day. These players had basically the equivalent of a substitute teacher, like when we all were kids, as a full time manager.
  4. Micah Hyde, Go Hawks.
  5. Nightengale said Tony is retiring tomorrow. Finally.
  6. He fired Himes because A. he didn't like him personally, and B. Himes tried to keep him out of the decision making. Himes got fired after winning 94 games with the lowest payroll in baseball.
  7. POS works for that number as well.
  8. That's why i would wait to see how Yas' legs are in spring training. He was a pretty effective hitter not too long ago, and has been better as of late. I think his OBP the last month or so is around .365.
  9. As Rick likes to say, there is a guy that checks all the boxes. Sandy Alomar Jr. Knows the Cleveland way. Is part of the White Sox "family". And was 27-19 as an interim manager last season. The guy has come in 2nd for a ton of jobs. I wouldn't mind him on the South Side.
  10. I'd trade Gio, but I wouldn't sell low. The guy I would really like to trade because he seems like he's more about style than substance, but is still a guy who could get you something nice in return is TA. If Montgomery was a year more developed and looked like a regular MLB SS, it would be done. But if you want to win in 2023, you better have a SS, and maybe TA will get back to trying to be the best instead of trying to look like the best.
  11. This is KWs 22nd year. His teams have won a playoff series in only 1 of those years. He's part of the problem.
  12. The other thing is the base was a little overinflated with people who bought packages this year for playoff tickets last year. Those are the type that jump ship a lot faster than those who came through the rebuild. It's put up or shut up time for JR. He's going to have to risk perhaps his biggest financial loss to get through this.
  13. You want a job forever? Get hired by the White Sox at any position, and occasionally mention how JR is the greatest guy to work for. George Costanza could last 40 years.
  14. Is there any other team in baseball who would hire RH as GM? What does he have to sell to a potential employer for that position?
  15. It's still an MLB GM job. Only 30 of those available. There would be plenty of interest, and KW isn't in it much longer.
  16. His wife already retired from NBC news. I think it won't be too long.
  17. While true, even if it doesn't change, its worth a shot, because it isn't working. Maybe someone, and it's been proven it's not Rick Hahn, can get this team, including JR and KW on the right path.
  18. still haven't decided. Leaning towards bagging them. I think I can do better on the 3rd party sites, and they have really devalued the season ticket anyways. Perks used to be plentiful, now there are almost none. Besides, if they are good, you can buy a package for 2024 next September and get 2023 playoff tickets.
  19. Not the Sox. f*** them.
  20. I agree with this. I think we have so much proof, there can be no benefit of doubt. But I think there is zero chance they show him the door. Pretty ridiculous.
  21. There are rumors he has an out in his contract, and a new regime might want a different guy. I’d take him in a heart beat.
  22. Or the 2001 to 2007 White Sox. One year they may get lucky and everything they touch turns to gold. You look at that 2000 team. It was young and stacked, and supposedly had the #1 farm system in baseball. We did get 2005 out of it, but this regime really has no clue how to build a team with sustained winning. And even as great as 2005 was, if a ball doesn't go through Graffinino's legs, and El Duque doesn't perform a miracle, it easily could have been a year like 2000 or 2008 or 1993 or now 2021.
  23. The best thing about this is, Tony is gone, and now you know Cairo isn't the answer. He looked promising, but the way they quit, no way you can give him the job.
  24. Thats the strange thing. He actually remained healthy enough to keep increasing his player option. 50 game availability is coming next season. Way to go Rick.
  25. As I mentioned before, he somehow made the bad Kimbrel trade worse. Amazing incompetence. Hahn is obviously a bright guy, but is there much evidence to suggest any of that intellect includes building a MLB team? Please let him go. Maybe you can bring him back in 30 years if you feel bad about it.
