Fields will entually be a WR.

For someone who said using results is way too easy, Tony is sure taking his test results as gospel.

You don't lose service time on the IL. The only thing that seems logical if you want to stretch the definition of logical, is the team with multiple championship goals is looking to save money by not having to pay minimum guys to take his or the countless others who had this team play short roster spot. It's been very weird. Even if your system is so bad, someone should be able to come up to pinch run or go into the field if necessary. Maybe even a 3rd catcher just in case. But time after time, the same thing. I think they are trying to save a few bucks. They use Robert to pinch run which running the bases is how he injured his wrist in the first place.

The White Sox can be fixed next year, but they won't be fixed if the same people are doing the fixing.

9/22 Sox vs. Guardians 7:10PM CT

If Moncada had a reputation of running balls ot, second basement couldn't play him 15 feet on the OF grass because they would at least think they could not throw him out. -
I think if there is some accountability from the front office down to the fake tough guy manager, a few of these guys would perform a bit better, and maybe stay a little healthier. But they need to catch the ball better, that will help the pitchers, and go back to hitting homers. That too will help the pitchers. They need some left handed hitting, They have the same issues they had 1 year ago, plus a couple of more, and less money to throw at the problem. So, the current team showed you they cannot make the moves necessary to get it done. It's time to try someone else.

The problem JR and KW have with firing RH is they are probably just as responsible. KW needs to pull a Pax and tell JR, it's time for a change, and not just RH. -
You are absolutely correct. The offseason was such a failure. That alone would cause most organizations whose goal is multiple championships to make a change. Although I will say calling some of the acquisitions complimentary role players is giving them way too much credit. Not only did he mess up for 2022, he put them in a bigger bind in 2023. Diekman? Pollock? They needed a left handed hitting RF. They could have bought out Kimbrel for $1 million. Even an platoon lefty complimentary player would have been so much better. They get Pollock, who apparently can't play RF, and remember who this organization has no problem putting in RF, he can't hit RHP either. And both of these idiots will be on the books next year. If he did absolutely nothing, he would have outperformed what he did. He has to go. Larry was spot on. The one thing I really caught was how you know if somehow they pulled this out, we would have gotten a we told you so. I hope they are humbled knowing people taking their order at Potbelly's knew they were way off this year even when they didn't.

Most here were thrilled with all the extensions. Hahn was complimented for getting it done.

They have made so many errors, but the big one was LaRussa. Velasquez and Kelly may be some place else if he wasn't hired, and who knows who else. If they needed a fossil, Buck was the hire. He has a 3 or 4 year shelf life, but his teams play to or above their talent level for at least a couple of seasons. And his player evaluation is much better than Tony's. Forget his managerial skills, his evaluation skills are being used like his stint in AZ never happened. And that was many brain cells ago. Shame on the players, but the big shame was hiring Tony. He brought down the entire organization. -
The biggest difference in the AL Central
Dick Allen replied to CentralChamps21's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Basically, the guys who get hurt every year, and the Sox now have several, will continue to get hurt. There may be one or two magical years here and there where they avoid it. You also have to figure someone who doesn't always get hurt, will get hurt. The problem is the Sox have too many key guys who are annually injured. Several of those are injured multiple times every year. -
Condolences to Caulfied.

Diekman putting a damper on Rick Hahn Appreciation Night. Today was the deadline for season ticketholders to pay for postseason tickets. I finally did something correctly, and passed.
-
Plus if they win, they still need him tomorrow and if they win that, Thursday.
-
Hendriks here is fine. There can't be a save situation for the Sox. The problem is, you would love to have a strikeout guy pitching in the 10th if it makes it that far.
-
Even if Graveman is unavailable which we still don't know, Lopez/Bummer/Hendriks also works with a 2 run lead.
-
Kind of like when Houston took a 2-0 lead in the playoffs last year. You knew the Sox were cooked, but tried to make it somewhat feasible they could come back. One loss in this series, and they are done. If they sweep, they win the head to head, and the Guardians could be reeling. But that has as much chance as Eloy Jimenez becoming an iron man.
-
The key to the Twins is Buxton. They are really good when he plays, and really bad when he doesn't.
-
They are going to have to play better defense. They are going to have to hit more homers. I don't know if things could have gone much worse than they did for them this year, and I don't know if things could have gone much better than they have for Cleveland, yet, here we are, and the Sox still have a shot. Not a big one, but if somehow they sweep them, the pressure will switch to being on Cleveland. Unless JR cuts the payroll drastically and LaRussa comes back, I can't see how the Sox won't be the division favorites next season, unless Hahn does worse this coming offseason than he did the last one.
-
For all intents and purposes, the season will be over by Thursday. Besides sending Tony home, fixing up the defense a bit, and doing something about the injuries, I hope the team looks at the obvious. When they hit home runs, they usually win. When they hit a bunch of singles, they usually lose, no matter the opponent. Let's get back to hitting them all season long.

2022 College Football Season
Dick Allen replied to CentralChamps21's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
If Petras isn't the problem, and since they haven't sat him yet they don't think so, even though they are the lowest scoring Big Ten team in 21 years through 2 games. Then they are admitting Brian is the problem -
You can call it ageism, but there really aren't a lot of ways 20 or 30 somethings connect with old school 77 year olds in any workplace.
-
Rick and Kenny and JR hide. Every day the players and Cairo get asked about this guy. Take the burden off them. Rosenthal is right in so many ways, but because it's obvious, Tony won't go for it.
