  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) KW asked for Flash Gordon. That's about as absurd of offering Jon Adkins for Ray Durham.....oh wait, that happened. If he got back a Flash Gordon baseball card he would have made an incredible deal.
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) BMac is up. That's just a waste. This game is over, put Sanders and Baj in. Save BMac.
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) Maybe the Yankees will take him back. No I'm not kidding. Back in June or July they enquired. KW needed to pull the trigger, even if they gave nothing back.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 11:20 AM) What happened w/Dye? Lost a ball in the lights.
  5. Its batting practice in Minnesota.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 11:16 AM) Duque has retired 9 guys, and allowed 7 base runners today. The guy is done. The fact that he is signed through next season is a real problem for the Sox. That's $5 million they could be using on someone who is actually effective.
  7. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 11:14 AM) Lead off man on.... Duque's going to reach 90 pitches. They're gonna score this inning, And Morneu homers as I type... HR f*** El DUQUE El Duque is a huge waste of $9 million. But today he has no chance. The Sox will be lucky to get 3 or 4 hits.
  8. Hookers for Jenks and Marte and Garland. They have nice hookers in Minneapolis.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) Double play depth. The Sox usually play the infield in for those situations.
  10. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 08:53 PM) And wait, if we lose, everyone is going to blame Ozzie for not pinch hitting for Pods. Ozzie should only get credit for wins, not for losses.
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 08:53 PM) They brought in Romero to face Pods. They couldn't have changed pitchers again. Yeah, I forgot Romero just came in. Pods batting there and not taking until the count was full was foolish.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) Romero had to pitch to that first batter. That's right.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 08:49 PM) Question...why did Pods bat there? He has been brutal with bases loaded all season. That was a huge play in this game. The only thing I could think of is if you put Anderson in Nathan comes in to pitch. That is probably a K. At least Pods avoided the DP.Borchard as a switch hitter may have been an option.
  14. QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 08:49 PM) Man, Pods is really bad right now! But he's hitting .360 in September.
  15. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) I'm feeling a triple for Pods. Pods will be looking for his first hit with the bases loaded in a White Sox uniform.
  16. Jesse Crain.....................................yes
  17. The Sox need to get 2 runs here. Don't blow it.
  18. Hey fathom, with Marte now in, if he blows it, we'll have a lot of people on the Ozzie is a moron bandwagon.
  19. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 08:29 PM) Its not his fault the people behind him can't drive him in. He has 3 caught stealings this month. It's not like he's getting thrown out every game. Mercy, I can't believe what I'm reading on here. Maybe its not, but its hard to drive a guy in when he's sitting in the dugout after being thrown out by 15 feet. The fact that Pods doesn't score much just shows that this balanced offense BS KW and Ozzie and Hawk have been selling is just that, BS.
  20. Does Rowand have somewhere to go tonight?
  21. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) His job isn't to generate runs. Its to get on base so the other 4 or 5 guys behind him can generate runs. His numbers are .362 .423 .468 in September. That's incredible. What the hell are you talking about. If everyone on this team contributed like that right now we'd be awesome. First off how many of those times he got on did he quickly get himself thrown out? He could be batting .700, if he isn't scoring runs, he's worthless, because he's not going to drive in any and he's going to cost you in the field. They need to have more guys who can generate runs in the line-up.
  22. Garland was great. Its nice a pitcher stepped up. Now get him out, his next start is against Cleveland. I don't think you want him facing them after throwing 135 pitches.
  23. I feel a lot better with Stewart retired.
  24. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 08:19 PM) He's hitting .360 in September. There is no way you take him out. Its the lightest .360 you ever want to see. He's not going to the bench, but this guy generates very few runs.
