Sox catching possibility
I would love to have AJ on the team. His teammates don't hate him as much as Sox brass wants you to believe. Its probably a smokescreen. A catcher with a good lefthanded bat would be ideal for the White Sox.

Reminder to Everyone Tonight...
KW won't talk about much, he's flying underneath the radar.

Nero Says Johnson never turned down the Sox
It gets him out of Arizona, and KW could ship him off to the Yankees at or near the deadline if the Sox are not in contention without asking for the unreasonable package the DBacks are asking for.

A's Deal Hudson
Press conference was an internet message board hoax.

A's Deal Hudson
If Zito and Mulder continue to struggle, nobody will be asking BB for a sequel to Moneyball.

Rumors thread
12 million a year for Hudson would be a steal.Gammons said Clement will probably sign with the Angels for $9 million a year.

Sox STILL interested in Chacon
I agree, although if he stays in Coors much longer, his mind will be so screwed up, it won't matter where he's pitching.

New Rumor
Its totally BS. Why would TB give up a bargain who is as versitile as Huff? Why has no one else heard or read this alledged report anywhere? If Kurkjian said it on ESPN radio, rotoworld would probably have it.
-
New Rumor
Exactly. If they trade him, they aren't going to want Konerko for $9 million (with his bonus for being traded) or Lee at $8 million when Huff may be better than either one all by himself. They have $ problems, and Lou may leave if they don't start spending.Trading him doesn't make much sense unless they want a few top of the line prospects. Sweeney, Anderson and BMac are the guys they would want for this guy, and not just one of them, and maybe not just two.
-
New Rumor
I think his wife dropped the charges, which is what usually happens. The White Sox should stay away from wife beaters.
-
New Rumor
This is a bogus rumor. The only reason TB would trade Huff is for salary relief. They don't want Lee's contract or Konerko's. The only guys the Sox could trade to TB for him would be their top prospects. KW has said the Sox basically need to go $ for $. Huff is not coming to Chicago.

Ticked at Kobe, Mailman abandons Laker return
I was at the Eifel Tower in Paris in September. Kobe was in front of me in line with his wife and daughter. A couple people asked him for an autograph, but he said he was on vacation so he wouldn't sign. His wife is hot. I didn't see that diamond Kobe gave her as a make up present. What was funny was we were flying home about a week and a half later, my wife was reading a People Magazine, or something similar, and it claimed that on the night we saw them Kobe's wife moved out of their home back to her parents' home. They had a time line for the couple of days before. It all was BS. So I doubt Malone would make a play for her, and think this latest thing is totally made up. I don't know why people give Kobe crap for saying the guys are giving HIM 110%. Everyone loved Michael Jordan when he referred to his teammates as his supporting cast.

Jaret Wright Flunks Physical
I was thinking the same thing, but if its his shoulder it could be a waste of money. I still think the Yankees may have buyer's remorse because they are rumored to sign Pavano and Milton, will probably land RJ and can't give Kevin Brown away. With Mussina still in pinstripes that doesn't leave much room for Wright. Hopefully, after all Wright has been through with the injuries, this isn't anything too serious.

Weis reportedly to coach ND
After this last debacle, the ND administration is going to give him the usual 5 years.

Weis reportedly to coach ND
AM1000 is reporting Charlie Weis will be Notre Dame's next head football coach.
-
Rumors thread
The Yankees are about to sign Pavano, will probably get Johnson, and are unable to move Brown. I smell a rat if this is true.

Ozzie on Frank
Hopefully, Frank won't be Grant Hill, or Bill Walton. Foot and ankle injuries are difficult to heal, especially when you are as huge as Frank. The healing process seems to be more unpredictable than injuries to other parts of the body. Wouldn't surprise me if he was ready on opening day, and it wouldn't surprise me if he is out the entire season, and has played his last game for the Sox.

Why not Larkin?
I don't think and I also hope the Sox have no interest in Larkin. If Vizquel was a key to their offseason retooling, and they refused (I agree with the decision, although I liked the thought of Vizquel at ss) to go an extra year at about $2 million more total than they offered for him because of age concern, then it would make no sense to give a guy who is older than Vizquel would be at the end of the 3 year contract they didn't want to hand out, anything more than minimum to play this year. As dissapointed as I am with Willie Harris, I still think at this stage he is better than Larkin, and he is the guy Larkin would be taking playing time away from. The Sox can do better, and not spend a lot of money.

Magglio doesn't go so quietly aft
Sorry, I didn't have time to read that. I just read the part you posted which has a 2002 date.

Magglio doesn't go so quietly aft
ARod's contract was also signed before the effective date.

Magglio doesn't go so quietly aft
I guess I am. It depends how much is deferred 20 years, how much 10 years etc. It wouldn't surprise me at all if a portion was deferred 20 years. JR has the White Sox in good financial order. I don't believe they have much debt , if any. If Selig would approve such a contract, it would be with the White Sox.

There are ways around this rule. Ask Vinny Castilla and the Rockies.

Magglio doesn't go so quietly aft
No need to be sarcastic, I'm just going by what Dr. Weil is quoted as saying in today's papers.
-
Magglio doesn't go so quietly aft
I am not saying Magglio and Boras are innocent. I am saying the White Sox haven't been totally straight with their version of the events the past 9 months, and we see another great player leave with bridges burned beyond repair. I understand Weil is not technically"employed" by the White Sox. But his relationship with the team would preclude him to advise Magglio without there being a connection to the team. I understand doctor/patient priviledge, what I don't understand is why Weil is now giving out all the details of the surgery if that is the reason he didn't tell the White Sox. I have a feeling he won't be the team podiatrist for much longer.

Magglio doesn't go so quietly aft
Here's the gray area. Magglio requested he not notify the White Sox. If Magglio hadn't requested that, he would have notified them. So, when he gave the referral to Magglio, he had every intention of notifying the White Sox, but didn't after the request. Once the story got out, he did tell the White Sox.
