  1. Trading prospects for players that have seen their better days is dangerous. KW trades Sweeney now, that's one less chip, one less huge chip he has to play with in the future. If KW does this, and I am still very skeptical, it probably will be a career defining moment for him. If Floyd gets hurt or doesn't produce, and the Sox farm system is down another top prospect, KW probably should be looking for work. If Floyd gets hot and leads the Sox deep into the playoffs, KW is executive of the year, and will elevate his status to GM as long as he wants to be.
  2. I don't think I would trade a guy with the potential of Sweeney for someone likely to join Magglio and Frank on the DL. He gets hurt almost every year. Floyd is already hinting at retirement, and doesn't want to play here, even though he is from the area. The White Sox were one of the 4 or 5 teams he couldn't be traded to in his last contract.
  3. He's an "old" 32
  4. A nothing prospect isn't going to push the deal over the top for Pittsburgh. This is scaring me.
  5. I noticed. Please delete.
  6. Gammons is reporting Benson is going to the Mets for a couple of players. He also said the White Sox will send Pittsburgh a minor leaguer. My guess is the Sox get Shane Spencer. Gammons said KW wanted to make sure Minnesota didn't get Benson.
  7. Ozzie has been very Bevingtonesque recently. I think the honeymoon may be over. If JM were managing this same game tonight, and made the same moves, he would have been skewered.
  8. The line used to be it never cost the Sox anything. Heck, pitchers pitching over his 36 errors in 2000 may have led to their injuries. Now, everytime he makes a mistake, it costs the Sox the game.
  9. If our shortstop doesn't make a baserunning blunder yesterday, or catches a pop up yesterday, or makes an accurate 7 foot throw today, the Sox are 1 game out. Unfortunately, he failed on all, and they sit 4 games out.
  10. He alone cost the Sox the game yesterday. Don't give me Borchard hit into a DP. Borchard picked Valentin up in the 7th when Jose got thrown out on the bases, with a walk, and the DP grounder was scalded. The dropped pop out took the cake. If he makes a decent 7 foot throw tonight, at the very least, they are still playing, but yet another unearned game winning run on a Jose Valentin error. Great leader, pop off about Frank a little more Jose, you jackass. Make sure he is 2000 miles away in Vegas when you pop off. Oh yea, Jose's errors never cost the Sox any runs. Just the last 2 have cost the Sox 3 games to Minnesota in the standings. Josh asked me to delete a post made in haste. His earlier quote has been removed. Any questions PM me. Thanks. SS
  11. Nice, swing at the first pitch and hit a weak grounder to short. He sucks so much.
  12. You can't blame Gload, it was a hit and run, or a steal attempt. He doesn' t have a green light. Valentin made a terrible throw on a sure DP.
  13. OZZIEBALL-ITS AN ATTITUDE
  14. Isn't Jose the great team leader? Would it be too much to ask to get 1 single in 10 games?
  15. The fact is he blew yesterday's game, which cost the Sox 2 games to Minnesota in the standings. He is also the reason they are trailing tonight. All his backers kiss his ass when he hits 3 homeruns in a 17-4 win. Look at how he's done during the biggest stretch of the season. He has 3 hits the last 10 games, all homeruns. How about shortening your stroke and trying to help the team win. He hasn't provided the offense when we needed it. He had no hits against the Twins last series. He defense may cost us 2 consecutive games. His baserunning, usually spectacular, has been brutal of late. He needs to sit down for a while.
  16. If this was meant for me, no I don't think he's going to hit one now. But if you look, some of his "big" homeruns, basically made up for horrible plays in the field. So he was even, not the great clutch hitter many think he is. He sucks, and is really proving it the last 4 or 5 games.
  17. Get over the homers. He only hits a couple that matter, usually after he botches a play in the field.
  18. Have the Valentin lovers seen enough to admit they are wrong?
  19. Cattalanano or whatever his name is has an injury that requires surgery. He will play in pain for the rest of the year, but has to run at 60%. I say sign him in the offseason, forget about it now. I think Otis is full of crap.
  20. Whether it was a cheap shot or not doesn't matter. He put a hurting on one of the Sox players. The message that this will not be tolerated needs to be sent. The best way is a fastball to Hunter's earhole on his helmet.
  21. I think his contract is up at the end of this year. Maybe they get a prospect or an established player for someone they will lose anyway? It does seem odd that Toronto wouldn't want to keep him around, although he really can't field at all. I would love to see Hairston on the Sox. I don't trust Otis.
  22. I keep waiting for the clock to strike midnight on Burke, but he keeps on performing.
  23. I think its pretty sad when Torii Hunter gets to hit a homerun before he's knocked on his ass. He should have had to go up to the plate every at bat thinking he was going to get beaned.
  24. ESPN is reporting it is the Yankees or nobody. Johnson is known as being a prick btw.He started fighting teammates in Seattle when he wanted to be traded. He had an altercation with Luis Gonzalez, who is known as one of, if not the nicest guys in professional sports. It would dissapoint me greatly if he demanded to be traded to one particular team. If he says he will only approve a trade to one team , that's another story. He has a no trade clause, so that would be his right.
