Borchard on the rebound?
I take that to mean you have no idea.

Borchard on the rebound?
Yes the one guy Joe Bauman who hit 72 homers and never played in the majors. Your quote was "littered". That means you are aware of several more. You insult me and everyone else who ever disagrees with you, so how about backing up your statement?

Borchard on the rebound?
Can you name a few of these players?

Borchard on the rebound?
You obviously aren't familiar with Jose Valentin's minor league statistics.

Borchard on the rebound?
Borchard coming into this year, had played 393 minor league games. He played hurt last year, and his development slowed. He has tremendous power. And when he hits homeruns they are shots. He hit a 420 foot line drive in his first game with the White Sox. Due to the fact he was a big football star, he has not played a lot of baseball relatively speaking, for a professional his age. He has a lot of ability. He is a very hard worker, and is hard on himself. Trying to justify his bonus, doesn't help him either. Don't count last year against him, he had a wrist injury. The upside is tremendous, Baseball Prospectus compares his late development to Jay Buhner.

White Sox @ Twins Game Thread
One thing that is encouraging, even after the rough first, they came back. Prior years, the game would have been over.

He's off to a bad start.

That's one part of his game I will agree with you on. He is, by far, the best baserunner the Sox have, and have had for a long time.

There was one out, Perez had to make sure that ball got through. He failed

He actually played 3B for the Sox a few years ago for a few games. There's a reason he doesn't anymore.

White Sox @ Twins Game Thread
Why didn't someone from the White Sox organization fix his glove after it happened the first time? Then why not after the second time? If someone is assigned this duty, they should be fired.

White Sox @ Twins Game Thread
Crede not getting his glove fixed has so far cost the Sox 2 runs. There is no excuse.

White Sox @ Twins Game Thread
For the love of God, Crede has to get a new glove.

Its groundhog day watching the White Sox run the bases the past few years.

Wright out 2 Years!
Pitchers routinely comeback from elbow surgery. Kerry Wood a fine example. Its the shoulder that is even more of a concern. Danny probably blew out his elbow in the Spring of 2003, when team doctors found nothing wrong with his elbow even though he had major discomfort. This probably led to mechanical adjustments to bear the pain, which probably led to shoulder problems. These are the same doctors who found nothing wrong with Barcelo, and KW was bad mouthing him, only to lead to Barcelo having surgery himself. I believe the White Sox named new team doctors this season. Hopefully they can detect these injuries sooner, before the players cause more damage trying to play through the pain.

Willie and Maggs Injury Update Thread
According to AM1000, neither is in the line-up tonight, but will be in uniform.

Angels interested in Jose Valentin?
JR was on the Score a couple weeks ago and mentioned that Griffey would never play for the White Sox. Thank God.

I just dont have confidence
My point was when Schueler was here and the farm system was ranked #1 by BA, we kept on being told about all the pitching in the minors. Everyone threw 95 mph. Barcelo, injury plagued, Rauch, hyped as the next Randy Johnson, hurt, and now the organization won't give him a chance, even if he performs well. Garland was supposedly the next Kevin Brown. He is only 24, but his development has been painfully slow. Kip Wells was supposedly a David Cone clone. He may be, but KW had to unload him for a Jaime Navarro clone. Wright, West, Stumm, Ginter, the list goes on and on. Schueler never mentioned Buerhle, and he has had the most success by far. They tried their best to lose Magglio, exposing him in the rule 5 draft, so obviously they didn't consider him much of a prospect. They liked Jeff Abbott a lot more, the same Jeff Abbott who may be asking you if you'd like fries with that at McDonald's. The Baseball America ranking a few years ago was way off. Schueler really didn't have much before the group you mentioned. Wells-gone, Fogg-gone, Maggs-they lucked into his success, Crede-inconsistent, Lee-inconsistent, Baldwin-the highest career ERA for a pitcher who has pitched as many innings as he has in the history of MLB. For a guy who was supposedly a scouting genius, it doesn't say much about Schueler's 10 years at the helm.

Maybe he'll let you present him in Cooperstown.

I just dont have confidence
You are absolutely right. Ron Schueler brainwashed everyone , including Baseball America, into believing the farm system was full of future stars. The only place most of these will ever star in in softball beer leagues.

I like Hawk and DJ, but it sickens me when they basically blame JM for the way the team performed the last couple of years, but now say when its happening again that no coach or manager could really do anything about the funk.

But his errors never cost the Sox anything and his range factor is over the roof

I think its a little too early to write this guy off, but he obviously is going to have to go back to Charlotte for a while.

Game Thread for 5/17
With the way this team is constructed, there would be 1 guy for 11or 12 players, and 1 for 1or 2. Who would coach the "in between" guys?
