  1. He has more money than he ever imagined. He gets really beat up every season. If they win it all and he gets a ring, there really is nothing left for him to play for.
  2. I'm not as down on Keuchel as most. He was getting shelled by lefties last year, something that never happened before. I think he regresses to the mean and is viable this season.
  3. What would the Sox have had to give up for Chapman? He's good enough defensively, if I was RH, I would tell Yoan, you're back at 2B.
  4. Heyward must be available. Many of the GMs on this board who chided RH last year when he signed Eaton, wanted the Sox to get Heyward. He's even cheaper now.
  5. I always think the Sox are going all in. Going to shock us with something big. for some reason my brain takes a little longer to catch up, and realize, they are content as is and they will fail to even get an Escobar or McNeil . They will take a bargain, but they aren't going out on a limb.
  6. Yeah, for some reason, i don't think lack of energy was a White Sox problem the last couple of years.
  7. A 35 year old who hasn't put up a 2 WAR season since 2017, which was his only one since 2014. An injured pitcher, and a gas can whose claim to fane was playing a nice LF. I wasn't expecting a lot, but a lot more than that.
  8. The problem is you have to have the lead order tied for them to have value. One thing that makes baseball so great though is you could be thoroughly outplayed like the Sox were that series and still have a chance. They were just Giolito having his command from at least forcing a game 5. And Houston has a lot if problems with Lucas.
  9. The thing that sucks is when the Sox were bad they weren't signing the better players. They either came up short or were not involved. Obviously it's still early, but now they are good, but flawed, and still there is nothing to get excited about in the rumor mill.
  10. I can't think a set up guy is going fot the jugular.
  11. How pissed would people be if the Sox signed Joc? He was basically the Soxtaljk Conforto the last couple of years.
  12. Didn't the Braves make a $100 million + profit last year?
  13. The only 1b that are better than him are Freeman and Vlad Jr. The Braves must think Freddie is going to Pujols. It's hard to believe they didn't pony up.
  14. Again, he makes it sound like he's on the line with KW and RH, yet hasn't broken a signing yet.
  15. The problem is when guys sign really late, like after the season has already begun, they usually have crappy numbers.
  16. Except for Atlanta, yes. If Bauer was around, LA probably wins. If Glasnow pitches, the Rays have a better shot. I don't understand why you think losing major players shouldn't hurt teams if they are built properly. You cannot stash away All Stars in AAA. If McCullers gets hurt a week earlier, the Astros probably don't get past the White Sox.
  17. A guy on MLBN said LaRussa was the driving force in the Kelly signing. Tony was working for Boston when Kelly was there.
  18. What do you think about Gavim moving forward?. Obviously defense isn't his thing, but can he be a nice platoon left handed DH type, who you hide on the field occasionally and hope it's not hit his way? Or is he a Palka, Delmonico type, never really highly regarded but had some early success before the league adjusted? I really have no idea myself. I was quite surprised with all the big hits he supplied last season.
  19. Looks like there will be expanded rosters at least for the first couple of weeks. Chances are he spends most of the 2022 baseball seaon in AAA.
  20. So far NSC is 0 fer on the Sox moves even though he tries to make ir seem hes in the room.
  21. Especially this year with the short spring training. The starters their first few starts are glorified openers.
  22. Especially these days with fewer balls in play. You have to figure the team will address its lack of LH hitting pretty soon. They are more RH now than they were at the end of the season.
  23. Trading for the highest performing reliever on the market isn't a bad idea. I didn't like what they traded but that is over. We will see what they get for him. If it's a token return, they compounded their mistake by picking up the option. Think of all the time the Sox FO I'd spending on it right now when it should be spending that time on other things.
