Giolito, Pollock to IL; Lambert, Severino called up
I heard LaRussa on the radio on Sunday saying Pollock had a Grade 1 strain and was going to be out 10 or 11 days.

Tell me about your Scouts Seats experience
As someone who has had season tickets for many years, once a full season, now a 20 game plan, it's been my experience the better the team, the worse the customer service, which if it was a choice, I would take the better team. When the team sucks, they get back to to right away. They have season ticketholder events, and give away gifts and things like free patio parties. One year we even got to take batting practice. Now you get nothing and like it.

Baines has major transplant surgery
Good luck to Harry and a big thank you to the donor and the donors family.

Micker clears waivers, to Charlotte
Considering how many teams had nothing to lose, color me shocked. I thought he might bounce to a couple of teams and then clear. Hopefully he makes the teams that passed regret it.

It doesn’t matter if Pollock was a LF, CF, 3B…whatever. He was camped for that one and missed it. It happens, There are tons of HS kids who if they were in the same position, would have made the catch. If it were Eloy or Vaughn or Sheets, we would all be saying burn their gloves. Pollock isn’t Clemente out there, but he isn’t that bad. Just horrible timing to botch one.

Iam was bad. Bummer was a bummer, but Pollock has to catch that. Except for not getting hurt, that was Eloy-esque

It should be a routine play for anyone who plays in a league with a minimum salary of 700k.

That's good to hear. Last time I went to Detroit was 2008. Stayed by Joe Louis Arena. Saw a Rush show, and then the Sox get taken apart by the Tigers. Downtown Detroit was a WTF? back then. I will have to return, although, I agree with an earlier post, I think their ballpark is nice, but a bit overrated.

You would have to think so, although JR would have had to eat money, and RH knows, as someone who gets JR's lunch every day , he doesn't like to eat money. It's amazing Hahn and KW can't get a couple of some team's top 5 prospects for Micker. Total organizational failure.

The season was over when Moncada hurt himself and can't stand up if he sneezes or laughs. Of course, after a few spring training ABs, it was rather obvious he is a shell of his former self, destined to be DFA'd.

I usually am excited when Spring Training starts, then the Spring Training games start. With the lockout this year, it was just another day. But today is different. I am excited. Wish TA was playing, but beat the crap out of Detroit.

I like Moncada the player. It just seems to be every time he has a minor tweak on the field, he makes it look like best case scenerio, he might be back next year.

If he was legit, he would sneeze and not flinch. Anyone who thought Moncada could make it through the season without being injured was fooling themself. But you had to think he could make it to the season. The one thing about Yoan is I don't think he has a very high threshold of pain. If he cut his fingernail too short, he'd make it look like someone needed to roll an ambo.- Micker Adolfo DFA'd
The DFA gives them a few more days to try to trade him, but yeah, getting someone serviceable would have been a miracle.- Moncada IL, Burger up; Burr IL, Foster up
It's at least better than the all in team with Navarro catching, 56 year old Jimmy Rollins at SS, Brett Lawrie at 2B, and Austin Jackson patrolling CF. You are right though, this team is going to have to score a ton of runs.- Opening Day predictions
The window is closed the first baserunner for Detroit.- Micker Adolfo DFA'd
Can they DFA him? It could give them a few more days?- Micker Adolfo DFA'd
Out of options guys who have 0 MLB ABs, net you a lottery ticket at best.- Micker Adolfo DFA'd
He has upside but he also has a ton of questions. Can he make enough contact? And the kicker is his no options situation doesn't change if you need to send him down. You would probably lose him for nothing. Hahn would be very lucky to get anything useful for him. Probably a lottery ticket we forget even existed in a month or so..- 4/5- Sox/Padres, 2:10 central
Last spring training game that doesn't count. The adrenaline must really be flowing.- Micker Adolfo DFA'd
I'd take anything that can help now, or has some potential with at least an option left, and call it a win. Coming into spring training, you would think he would be worth nothing in trade, but a team like the Reds or Pirates would be nuts not to claim him. For a few spring training ABs to net you something would be a positive. I hope the guy has a nice career, but the Sox were stuck here, and it really isn't their fault. - Moncada IL, Burger up; Burr IL, Foster up
