Yes, get a little victory on a couple of the important issues, and keep everything else as status quo as possible. They aren't going to get it all at once. If they insist, they will get nothing.
-
Yes. At least you know it will be a zoo once they agree to things. So we have that going for us, which is nice.

Should have traded him for Joc.
-
When the Bears played at Wrigley they had 7 yard end zones.
-
The funny thing is when they did finish in second every year, the fans stayed away from the park, and from watching on television .

While the extra tax on the $2.7 million could be a hit, I don't know the tax law herw,it isn't the hit Robert was looking at. I don't really follow these guys much, but since the pools have come into place, don't most these guys come over the year the got their checks?

The guy on Twitter who is usually right doesn't think it's anything too bad. Seems to think meniscus is the worst case.

I'm sure that it is not the plan to make him the 2B, but working on it and making himself passable there makes him more valuable to the White Sox and other teams.

You can blame owners and you wouldn't be wrong, but where are the players' proposals?
-
The press has been talking about the labor issues for a couple of years. To be honest, I never thought it would get this far, but it did. One thing to consider is once it gets to this point, these things never get ironed out until the calendar says it needs to happen now. So this is all song and dance still. If the players counter any time soon, it will be an offer they know they owners wouldn't remotely consider.

Life goes on. You'll find something else to occupy your time. It will probably even be more productive, unless you become a USFL fan.
-
There is nothing you can do about it. Don't be bitter.
-
Well, the good news is you told us the players are willing to sit out 5 years if that what it takes, so at least the busting of the union can't happen.
-
Javy Vazquez and his 53.7 fWAR in 2800 innings blows them all away. Who else would you rather have on the mound in a must win game? Should have been 1st ballot.
-
Could even a defensive guy have a worse offense than Nagy? Never broke the top 20 in yards, and only only broke into the top 24 in points his first season. As incompetent as George and Ted appear, at least they are trying something new, so there is a chance the results will be better.
-
It's all a stupid game. Owners could break the union, but the effort to do so would break the game. No one has learned from past mistakes, but the players get far less percentage wise than they used to. Many teams don't even try to win. It's time the players got something. I wonder if they did, how it would effect franchise values.
-
I think they shoud get a bigger cut of pie, but I am all for luxury tax. I do think changes have to be made to maximize teams trying to compete.
-
But if they are good and put up a 5 WAR season, you will have to pay them $40 million.
-
Most owners would still be rich and do whatever they want if the value of their teams went to zero. If they never collected another paycheck from playing baseball, a ton of players would be in trouble. Owners have the upper hand, and usually do in most labor disputes.

It happens in most industries I bet the entertainers you mentioned didn't have a great deal for them their first couple of releases. Those out of college don't get paid what they are worth. right away. The big accounting firms and law firms pay them a decent wage, make them work crazy hours all for hopefully a big payoff eventually. As long as you are working for someone else, gettting what you are "worth" is pretty tough. They take their cut first. If I had to do it over again, the one thing I would do is work for myself. You get all of the blame and all of the credit. And baseball worth is a tricky thing. You pay Trout $80 million a year, you probably have a team that is going to lose close to 100 games unless your owner loves paying the tax and your fans love paying $200 to sit in the bleachers.

Michael was bad, George doesn't seem to be a football person and almost admits it, the problem is the rest of the McCaskeys probably know less about football than those 2 or they would have a bigger voice. Bears fans are stuck with George. Maybe he gets lucky and hires a gem. Chances are it will be more of the same, but at least it isn't guaranteed. George actually fired Pace. That is huge. Maybe something will be different this time. Considering how much money they blow on guys like Glennon and Foles and Dalton and Graham, you wonder why they don't hire a guy like Polian or a Jimmy Johnson type to head the football department. Be the guy to bounce things off the GM. Be another evaluator. Give recommendations to them and George. Straighten it out once and for all.
-
The other problem the new coach and GM have is they, just like Nagy with Mitch, have to be married to Fields. While Fields has a ton of potential, he did have the 4th lowest QB rating for anyone starting 10 games since the came up with stat.
-
Kreuetz asked Heistand if his $15 an hour recollection was correct. Heistand told him it was.
-
Right. It eventually will lead to George anyway. George just has to be smart enough to let football people make football decisions. He can see how the money works with others, but there is no way he should be involved in football decisions. Polian should be making this hire. Edit. I thought George oonsulted with Polian, now I am reading he just read his book. Well, maybe somehow he will get lucky.
-
Hopefully Polian has the loudest voice in the room. As great as the NFL is, it's better for the league if the New York teams and the Bears are actually good.
