  1. Pure Garbage actually has a better OPS than future HOFer James McCann.
  2. If the Sox can't sweep Oakland at home, that probably means a one and done in the playoffs, if they even make it that far. Only a 12 game lead.
  3. But that time the lead will be gone. Hendriks? Kimbrel? These guys are pure Zack Collinseque garbage.
  4. 12 game lead. Going to need a win tomorrow. Sox have that 5 game series in Cleveland. No chance they win any of those.
  5. For Lopez to get his due on Soxtalk, the foodies would have had to have been correct and he was traded. Then he would be a perennial Cy Young guy that every poster knew was there but Sox coaching clearly fucked him up. Since he is still with the White Sox, he is an "I'm not buying it even if he wins the next 5 Cy Youngs". An article I read said his issues earlier were due to the adjustments he was asked to make, and it has finally clicked in. Who knows if it will last, he has had some good months before, but I am going to enjoy this version as long as it lasts.
  6. Last night they said he should be back hopefully in a few days.
  7. people were really complaining about Grandal's catcher interference trouble at the beginning of the season. They did forget perpetual back up QB, James McCann, had a rash of them last year as well. But supposedly, it is one of the byproducts of trying to be a great framer. The closer to the plate you are, the better.
  8. The league requires the team doctor and MLB medical director to certify each injury. The thing is, no one is going to turn you in because, especially with a 10 day IL now, every team wants to do it. And from what I read, no pitcher's MRI ever comes back totally clean.
  9. He made 3 major leaguers look like they came out of the stands to take a couple of hacks.
  10. I don’t think I have ever seen so many swings miss a ball by 3 feet or more in a major league inning ever.
  11. The funny thing is Collins is terrible defensively but Seby is stout, yet in half as many games Seby has twice as many PB. Collins has a much better CS percentage, Collins does have 4 errors to 1. The WP with each catching is a similar number if you just count pace. If Collins is pure garbage, Seby is as well. One of the things I always hated about LaRussa and I mentioned this before the season is he always falls in love with the weakest players on the roster. It's almost like he is doing this to try to prove he is smarter than everyone.
  12. There is nothing in the rulebook that says a tie goes to the runner, but technically it should. If you have the frame where the ball is deemed caught, a tie would me the foot is on first, and that would be safe. The problem is they are guessing a lot of times when the ball is actually caught. The 1/1000 of a second makes a huge difference.
  13. The first one you can see not challenging until you see the replay with the foot on first base and the ball a couple of feet from the glove.
  14. If they are so down on Collins, they think Seby is ahead of him, not trading for a back up catcher at the deadine is curious. They don't cost much.
  15. I am still trying to figure out why Seby is considered so great defensively. Another PB yesterday, so 6 in 20 starts. Hardly, ever throws anyone out 15 SB 1 CS, granted a lot of that is on the pitchers, but I think he has made some awful throws.
  16. The only excuse was the video wasn't working, and even then, turn on a TV and watch your broadcast. I was at the game so I didn't see it, but I would have been pissed. Hernandez was also baffled by the lack of challenge. I just chalked it up to too close, it wouldn't have been changed. Either that, or he was watching porn.
  17. The first one, which is the second picture,if it was closer, you could see not challenging since it was the first inning, but that obvious. The other was in the 7th inning, no need to save your challenges not to use them at that point. Very odd.
  18. Kelenic is going to be great, but Harold seems to think he's a combo Mickey Mantle/ Willie Mays only better, and that Mike Trout is a poor man's version of him. OTOH, he also pegs Nick Madrigal as perhaps the worst player to ever play baseball.
  19. So you think anyone with the White Sox questioning him about not challenging is more than likely a no nothing? Looking at replays isn't very sophisticated.
