  1. He was probably still upset they didn't trade Cease for Joc Pederson
  2. I think part of it is they probably think there is very little chance of playing tomorrow.
  3. Another thing is if you have a media guide and look at the White Sox Board of Directors, and compared it to the BOD from a media guide 20 years ago, you will see it has shrunk. When people die, they do not get replaced.
  4. As a kid, when JR bought the team, my dad is a lawyer, and he told be back then how this was all set up. It was just as the Tribune reported it 7 or 8 years ago. You could imagine there has to be a lot of people thinking selling is a good idea. If the original partners are still alive, they are in or pushing their 90s. They probably can't fully enjoy the full fruits of ownership. And heirs are sitting on generational wealth, and might not have the same passion for baseball their deceased relative had.
  5. And you are never going to get a list of who owns what. Even the other partners have no idea who owns what. Only JR, and maybe a couple of his lackeys.
  6. The way this is set up, JR has control until he is dead or sells out, and there isn't anything the other owners can do about it except sell their shares, and I think JR actually has to approve who they sell them to.
  7. We have gone through this many times, and the Tribune confirmed it years ago, JR could own 1/1000th of the team, he still is in total control, and if he dies, the executor of his estate has control.
  8. JR still controls the team, and unless some of that 30% he actually sold, his bank account didn't get any bigger. Really, if true, nothing to see here.
  9. Bone bruise confirmed.
  10. That’s why you should always wear a Bears mask. You’ll never catch a thing.
  11. Ever notice Jason never pronounces the r in yesterday?
  12. So if you like night games, hope Toronto advances to the ALDS. If the Yankees or Boston do, you know the Sox will be playing in the afternoon.
  13. The question is fatigued or injured?
  14. Cesar was really good when he first came over, then really started sucking in Iowa. Hopefully he can get back to where he was soon.
  15. He's thrown the most innings he has since 2016, and has thrown well over half the innings he has pitched the previous 4 seasons combined, and they are getting stellar production from him. Whether this means he will be a full go at playoff time, or they can only have him for 1 start per playoff series if that, who knows but the White Sox? But I agree, they are doing the right thing.
  16. Eddie Jackson went from so good to so bad so fast. I often think he thinks he's playing flag football.
  17. Yes. He looked good. 3 outings he has looked good for an inning. Just the first one, he got hammered in inning 2 or his ERA would be 0.00, and he'd be k-ing around a batter an inning. Not bad for a guy who can't keep a roster spot.
  18. When he was up before, he didn't look so bad except his first outing when he went in for his second inning.
  19. Norm McDonald,61. 9 year private battle with cancer.
  20. What is interesting is Romy is now apparently ahead of Mendick with the White Sox people who decide such things.
  21. The Seby 4-4 , 3 HR game might be the biggest outlier game in MLB history. What are the odds? He's a .146 hitter without that game on the season, under .140 for the career. with a k-rate approaching 50%. He is basically a pitcher hitting.
  22. A woman who made anti-vaxx videos, and bragged that she has never worn a mask and called police on those trying to make her wear one, got Covid and was hospitalized. She wanted to be treated with horse dewormer. She won't be making any more videos or calling the police.
  23. The Sox were thought to be the team that was going to sign Soto at one time but the Nats came in at the end.
  24. If Father Time is finally catching up to Aaron Rodgers, this division is going to make past versions of the NFC East look like juggernauts.
