Groin soreness.

I guess Ross let it out of the bag that the Cubs will be in it next year.

There is definitely a benefit, but to a certain point. The thing is, as soon as most of the better players start getting 30 games a year off for "rest" people who pay a lot of money to watch and broadcast these games, are going to get pissed. It got so bad in the NBA,, they had to set up protocols. And exactly what are they protecting? Players are getting hurt way more than ever.

It's the same thing in basketball. Thibs supposedly kills players, yet Phil Jackson and Pop played guys 40 minutes a night, and that was when the game was way more physical, and they are geniuses.

The last time the Sox were a threat to make the playoffs was 2012. That team ran out of gas. With the 60 game season last year, this one can as well, it’s an unknown. It is far better the Sox have to play an extra game on the road in the playoffs and be anywhere near full strength, than have an extra home game and be out of gas.

Another thing to keep in mind about Patrick Williams is he is still a teenager for a couple more weeks.
-
LaTroy Hawkins, when he played for the Cubs, lived in a highrise where Clark and LaSalle come together. My friend lived in the building at the time. LaTroy rented out 2 apartments. One was solely for his shoes.

I've lost the connection a few times even though I have no problem with my wifi. I wonder if that has anything to do with the count.
-
I think it's the fact he has pitched over double the amount of innings he had pitched the previous 2 seasons combined. It's amazing to me he still can do what he did on Sunday. I just hope everything is OK, he gets a break, and comes back strong.

Why is an announcer who has been away from the team diagnosed with Covid, the last thing the Sox need now? We’re all doomed.
-
Hope Jason gets well quickly.
-
If it rains and is slick, I would get Robert off the field.
-
I think it’s more of the team almost has the full band back together and people would like to see the A team line up. We haven’t had it once this year, but it is pretty close to possible now.
-
My question would be are his pitches out of the strike zone perhaps a bit more enticing to swing at now? If he is out of the zone by an inch or two vs. six inches, the results can be very different.

4-24 6 strikeouts, 1 walk vs. LH. I'll take that anyday.

He really struggled and was out for a few weeks with some eye thing. Supposedly, his last start at Charlotte was stellar, and he looks really good. Would love to see what he does against one of the tougher teams in a bigger situation down the road, but now, just ride out these low leverage outings and get some more confidence. Cut down is repertoire a bit, and get a little more out of his fastball, and the Sox may have something.

When I was in HS and had time, I would umpire 8-12 year old girl's softball games. It was unreal. They gave you a mat you placed right behind home plate for balls and strikes. If the ball had an arc on it and landed on the mat, it was a strike,. It was old school automation :They really didn't need a home plate umpire. At any rate, I rung up a girl to end the game once when the ball hit dead center on the mat. It was center cut. She wound up throwing a mitt at me as I was going to my bike to go home, and her father wanted to kick my ass. He was banned from ever attending another game.

More than some were saying it about Liam Hendriks back in the day. There is no question Lopez has an electric arm. Maybe accepting his fate as a reliever is what it takes. It would be nice to get something from him. He has the talent. Of course he is still one bad outing from being a gas can again, but I certainly like him better on the mound than one Ryan Burr.
-
Yet you didn't want Vaughn facing the righty throwing batting practice.
-
Maybe the 7.00 + ERA in AAA was good for Lopez. Maybe it showed him he was a reliever. You can still get paid doing that.
-
Lopez mowing them down. T
-
Watching him in college, you knew it was just a matter of time with him. It's hard to to believe there were doubters.
-
I would hope so. He might get hurt getting on the plane, but Tony needs to make sure he is in the lineup with Robert tomorrow.
-
Vaughn can't hit righties.
