  1. I thought about not cischek when the board was broken once this trade was announced. No one reads these boards anymore.
  2. He actually started to regain his form the last month of last season. I remember Kaplan saying the Sox should trade for him before they signed Hendriks. He said it would cost almost nothing in prospects and the Cubs might eat some cash.
  3. Chances are he won't be on the White Sox next year. I don't like the trade. Igelsias would have been fine with me, and keep Madrigal. But there is no way Hendriks and Kimbrel are both on the team next season.
  4. I'm guess if Crochet is the price, they aren't paying much of Kimbrel's salary,
  5. At least for this year, the Sox starters and back end of the bullpen are going to be nails.
  6. Or pick up the option and trade him for prospects or other needs.
  7. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if the Sox checked, but chances are you will win money if you bet the Sox don't get Kimbrel.
  8. Crochet is weird to me. His numbers are good. His k-rate is more than fine. But every time he comes in, I'm a little nervous.
  9. With Kimbrel, you can get at least a portion of what you gave up back in the offseason. I really don't care which one of these guys they get, just get one, or maybe a starter, and maybe a catcher. Looks like they may be giving a couple of those away in the next couple of hours.
  10. That's automatic. I'm sure they can pick it up anyway.
  11. Might work out fine, but a tight spot to put a guy into since he hasn't done it before. Hendriks, Kopech, Bummer, if they can get Fry or Kimbrel, even if Heuer doesn't get it together, the bullpen should be OK during the postseason with more off days than the regular season.
  12. Kimbrel isn't a bad deal. If he sucks, you just let him go. If he's nails, you pick up the option and trade him in the offseason
  13. JR is looking under his mattress for international bonus money to give the Cubs.
  14. Getting a catcher, just in case, makes a lot of sense. Right now, they take Zavala's spot. In a couple of weeks when Yas is back, you could send Collins to Charlotte for 2 weeks and call him up in September.
  15. My source has told me not to be surprised if they have another move left in them. Also, don't be surprised if they are done. All I need is a Twitter account.
  16. They bought the prospects. Another team might have taken Rizzo's contract for nothing. The Cubs would rather pay and get a #7 and #12 prospect. That way it also doesn't look like a salary dump to the fanbase with one of the highest ticket prices in baseball.
  17. They can probably use another starter. Face it, there is a decent chance a pitcher or 2 goes down between now and the playoffs. Considering Jimmy Lambert is who they call up to be a spot starter, they are really short. As much fun as Kris Bryant would be, although I see no way the Cubs give him the opportunity to help the Sox this year, more pitching is probably more necessary.
  18. If healthy, they are fine. They already have seen that keeping them healthy may be a tall task as Eloy already has an issue, and it wasn't because of being stupid. The way these teams are stacking themselves up, I hope the Sox have the thought more reinforcements still are most likely necessary.
  19. Yankees #7 and #12 prospects, and Cubs paying Rizzos salary.
  20. I think they will chase, but nothing will come of it. Perhaps another reliever. Maybe a catcher. But I bet with the injured guys coming back, they are more than happye with what they have now.
  21. He's just an older version of Nicky Delmonico.
