It's true, but he is much less offensive than most trolls. -

Quick question, other than just to be a contrarian, why do you have such a hard time with Abreu dipping, but no problem with Tony driving around hammered? -
Lucroy has been in 8 organizations the last 4 years.

I can't stand Tony LaRussa and would like to blame him for everything that I think is wrong in the world, but at some point .150/.220/.196 in 118 plate appearances is on the player. If that one incident, where I think LaRussa couldn't have been more wrong, caused that, Yermin isn't mentally capable of being a major leaguer.

So yesterday I am watching the 5pm local news on channel 5. The sports segment comes on. They show the US women's soccer team losing 3-0. Have a segment with Kofi's return to Champaign, they mention John Queneville is being lost by the Hawks in the expansion draft. No mention of the first place baseball team that happened to have a home game that night.

Hopefully he is making this decision with a sound mind and everything is OK from a mental standpoint. He seemed to be having so much fun, now quickly this. This is a guy who stuck it out for longer than most, and got a taste. You would think he knows he can make it back, but obviously something is wrong. I hope he or someone changes his mind.

What they need to do is have Hillary, Obama and Nancy Pelosi make a public service announcement telling people that the vaccines are evil and run it on Newsmax, Fox News and OAN, and there will be lines the next day waiting for shots.

Probably, but at some point you would think going home is more preferable. For some reason a guy who has been fired 5 times the last 23 months, doesn't seem like a good answer in my mind. But again, I go back to there is something we don't know here. This guy was a legit star, now he still looks like he can put up back up catcher numbers, I guess calls a decent game, but teams can't wait to get rid of him. Something is up. There is a decent possibility the Sox don't even consider him. He went from seeming like close to a lock to making the team, to being cut even though he did fine in spring training.

Maybe he is going for a released record. Got released by the Angels, signed by the Cubs, played 27 games. Signed with Boston,, played 1 game, released, signed by White Sox, released, singed by Washington, 5 games played, released. Signed by Atlanta, 2 games played, released. That is 35 games played and 5 releases.

Probably , but if you are Lucroy, is that what you want? You know the team prefers Collins, and Yaz is coming back in maybe 3 weeks. So that is maybe 5 or 6 games he would catch, just to probably get released again. He could hope with the injury, the Sox may want to keep 3 catchers, but with Eloy and Robert coming back, there is going to be a roster crunch, so that probably won't happen. I guess the question is are the Sox going to lose any games because of Zavala on the roster instead of Lucroy, and if so, does it even matter at this point?

In a league where there was a premium on shooting, the Bulls drafted some guys who couldn't shoot at all. Payne was horrid, but Marquis Teague made him look like Steph Curry. Some video leaked out of Teague in a shooting drill at I believe was the combine. He made zero shots with nobody on him.

It is amazing how many people seem to love Lucroy, but most front offices continue to release him. And that is kind of weird as well, as this guy is only 5 years removed from being a top of the line guy. It really is one of the more interesting end of careers I have seen. It's not like he has to be that guy he was 5 years ago to stick, especially if he can call a good game. Maybe he is an asshole or something. But something is going on.

Maybe the HR are just moving toward the mean. Plus get a couple of guys back, and a 2B, it's hard to imagine the Sox being out talented.
-
This guy's WAR is only slightly higher than Jose Ramirez'. What a huge disappointment. I had high hopes for Yoan Moncada. I can't believe the Sox traded Chris Sale for him and that hack Kopech, who Donaldson just teed off of last night. Robbed.

He is older so his next contract won't be too huge. He could take over the Leury role, assuming Leury moves on, which gets him pretty regular playing time. He loved playing for the White Sox previously, and wept when he was traded for Liriano. Either way, his price isn't going to be a high one to bring him in, even if he walks after the season. It's a no brainer, unless they can bring in someone better than isn't going to ravage the systtem.

Hopefully they got boosters.
-
Here’s a scary thought. The J&J vaccine is supposedly ineffective vs. the Delta variant. The White Sox all got the J&J vaccine.
-
They will. The price is going to come down, so with a big lead there is not reason to panic now. I bet if they were 1 or 2 games up or 1 or 2 games down right now, they probably would have made a move , or at least you would be hearing things daily. It’s almost like they are waiting for the auction to end instead of paying the buy it now price on eBay. I think there is a near zero chance they go into the playoffs with Leury or Mendick their second baseman unless the guy they acquire gets hurt.
-
Will you be the guy in the Abreu jersey?

Partisan politics has trumped( pun intended, although it was heading this way long before him, he just took it to the finish line) common sense. And a vaccine to protect people during a pandemic is controversial. Good thing they haven't come up with a cure for cancer yet. People might be pissed off they can't just get chemo and die. But this is even worse. You only kill yourself with that. Covid, you can wipe out several.
