  1. With Kimbrel, you can get at least a portion of what you gave up back in the offseason. I really don't care which one of these guys they get, just get one, or maybe a starter, and maybe a catcher. Looks like they may be giving a couple of those away in the next couple of hours.
  2. That's automatic. I'm sure they can pick it up anyway.
  3. Might work out fine, but a tight spot to put a guy into since he hasn't done it before. Hendriks, Kopech, Bummer, if they can get Fry or Kimbrel, even if Heuer doesn't get it together, the bullpen should be OK during the postseason with more off days than the regular season.
  4. Kimbrel isn't a bad deal. If he sucks, you just let him go. If he's nails, you pick up the option and trade him in the offseason
  5. JR is looking under his mattress for international bonus money to give the Cubs.
  6. Getting a catcher, just in case, makes a lot of sense. Right now, they take Zavala's spot. In a couple of weeks when Yas is back, you could send Collins to Charlotte for 2 weeks and call him up in September.
  7. I bet that is what tray thinks.
  8. My source has told me not to be surprised if they have another move left in them. Also, don't be surprised if they are done. All I need is a Twitter account.
  9. They bought the prospects. Another team might have taken Rizzo's contract for nothing. The Cubs would rather pay and get a #7 and #12 prospect. That way it also doesn't look like a salary dump to the fanbase with one of the highest ticket prices in baseball.
  10. They can probably use another starter. Face it, there is a decent chance a pitcher or 2 goes down between now and the playoffs. Considering Jimmy Lambert is who they call up to be a spot starter, they are really short. As much fun as Kris Bryant would be, although I see no way the Cubs give him the opportunity to help the Sox this year, more pitching is probably more necessary.
  11. If healthy, they are fine. They already have seen that keeping them healthy may be a tall task as Eloy already has an issue, and it wasn't because of being stupid. The way these teams are stacking themselves up, I hope the Sox have the thought more reinforcements still are most likely necessary.
  12. Yankees #7 and #12 prospects, and Cubs paying Rizzos salary.
  13. I think they will chase, but nothing will come of it. Perhaps another reliever. Maybe a catcher. But I bet with the injured guys coming back, they are more than happye with what they have now.
  14. Not bad. He makes hardly anything.
  15. He's just an older version of Nicky Delmonico.
  16. Uh, no.
  17. Sox don't like his medicals.
  18. He's terrible.
  19. Remember when the Sox weren't supposed to draft Vaughn because you don't draft 1B that high? That said, someone needs to tell LaRussa the Sox traded for a 2B. Doing too much of this with Vaughn could come back to bite.
  20. Or they trade him somewhere else. If this guy helps the White Sox advance in the playoffs, it puts more money in JR's savings account, and probably hurts the Guardians moving forward. I would understand as a Cleveland fan if he was making a ton of money, or the prospect was really exciting, but why do one of your biggest rivals a solid?
  21. It's an option next year. It saves them a couple of million, but it may cost them in the long run more than that.. They probably could have traded him somewhere else I doubt their roster is very happy with the trade. It may make a little more sense if their sell off is just beginning.
  22. The guy is a solid baseball player. His power surge may be a mirage, but he does other things well. He's a good pick up.
  23. I still don't get this from an Indians perspective unless they really really like the prospect. Sending someone to a division rival , if he helps the Sox win, makes the Sox a lot of money, and makes their road back to contention longer. The Indians are toast, but it doesn't appear they just acquired the left handed version of Shane Beiber.
  24. Yeah, but at least he is another body. Leury is fine when he is hitting, but his hot streak is OVA, then he beomes annoying. Mendick can't hit at all.
