They probably, like most minimum wage paying jobs, have a shortage of workers, and the ones they have are probably rookies , without much idea what they are doing.
  2. That one is easy....Lamb will go if the choice is Lamb, Goodwin or Hamilton. At the very least, they now can feel fairly comfortable Sheets can give them about what Lamb gives them is someone gets hurt.
  3. Jon Morosi has as much false info as Not Cishek, although the Dodgers and Padres probably discuss every decent player.
  4. If they didn't trade him for Joc Pederson, he can't be available. But trading him would be so shortsided.
  5. Not Rick Hahn. So it really doesn't matter.
  6. Angelina Jolie from 1994, wasn't that the Billy Bob days? One thing is for sure, I don't know anyone personally on this board, but you have to be at least as good looking as Billy Bob. Maybe not the checking account........
  7. The Sox play Oakland in a couple of weeks. Is it possible he was scouting them and not getting ready to trade Madrigal to Seattle so he can rehab with them for the stretch? Or is Not Steve Cishek perhaps NOT a real insider?
  8. All said, big win unless it doesn't count becaus Zavala and Lynn drove in the runs.
  9. Kopech should have been double switched. Hamilton or Engel should have been in CF and the 7th inning wouldn't have been very stressful.
  10. Due to no minor league season last year, any not up to the minute prospect ranking could be really out of date.
  11. And there really is no reason for anyone in the lineup to not hit at least .450 with 80 homers, or ever commit an error.
  12. If anything but a WS win will lead you down a dark hole, there isn’t a team in existence that will let you lead a happy life. They all fall short most of the time. Enjoy what you can enjoy. Be happy this team is basically a playoff lock, and hope they are healthy and hot at the right time. Even in 2005, they needed a couple of breaks. El Duque was probably 100 to 1 to do what he did. Tony Graffinino was probably 100-1 to let a ball roll between his legs the game before, with Iguchi home ring next, or the Sox 2005 season could have easily ended in the ALDS making Chris Berman very happy. The Braves won their division 15 years in a row, but fell short of the ultimate goal 14 times. Still, an amazing accomplishment.
  13. Just telling him he might be better off spending time on something he may actually enjoy.
  14. So did I, which makes seasons like this even more enjoyable. If winning the WS is the only thing that can make you happy, and even if that is done, it has to be done a certain way, baseball isn’t for you. Lots of great teams had great seasons but ultimately came up short. It is easy to say the Sox won’t win, chances are you will be right, that shouldn’t take away enjoying a team that wins most of the time.
  15. So I guess you took nothing from them taking 2 out of 3 from Houston because that is positive, and you can’t have that. If 9 game leads bother you so much, you need to have whatever means you use to watch baseball disconnected and find something to do you enjoy. With all the bad that has happened to this team, to be where they are should make Sox fans giddy.
  16. Yeah that series in April vs the Yankees was the dead giveaway. Over analyzing to be miserable must be a White Sox fan trait.
  17. If the day spring training started you were told Eloy would miss 100 games, Robert around 80, Madrigal most of the season, Grandal over a month and 2 months at far less than full strength. Foster and Heuer would implode, and Bummer be far from the lock down releiver we expected, Earon would be released,, Engel miss a couple of months,, TA spends time on the IL, Abreu be banged up, you probably would have thought the team would be where the Twins are, not running away with the division. There is really nothing to complain about.
  18. Please name a team that would be missing 4 regulars, have some sort of restriction on a couple of their better pitchers, and would be doing as well as this team?
  19. I would suspect their output, at least initially, to be a little less than normal. OTOH, at playoff time, when most of the league is going to be pretty fatigued, these guys will probably not.
  20. That's right and the fact is the Brewers didn't go tag him for the same reason. Seems a little unfair one side still has recourse 5 minutes later and one side does not.
  21. They had nothing to protest. I am sure most of the delay was searching replay rules. And this particular play probably is so rare it never was considered. The umpires on the field and in the replay room knew this was a bit unfair because of the safe sign, and were probably trying to find a way around it. The replay was obvious. I bet that it gets written into the replay rules next season where once an umpire signals safe, whether or not he touched home is not reviewable.
  22. You have a point. Spikes are a lot more comfortable these days nut when I played, I definitely would be able to tell if I hit it or not when not sliding. The entire problem is the umpire confirmed he hit it, so time to get away. The Brewers didn't bother to tag him for the same reason.
  23. Right and those are plays where the guy has time to get to the plate, not some little roller to the pitcher. If the umpire didn't give the safe call, then he could give Collins some heat for not noticing . Besides, the play was in front of Moncada, nothing for Collins to do.
  24. So you think if the Sox traded for Gallo last week they win these games? Do to roster size, etc. there is limits as to what the team can do. We have to hope the 3 returning players can stay healthy and produce. And the 2nd baseman they acquire produces.
