  1. It's the between 4-5 pm in the dugout standard press conference where he will tell you Engel is on a rehab, Robert is off crutches, Eloy is progressing, a couple of minor leagers are either hurt or recovered from being hurt, and then they will ask questions probably asking why his manager has no problem with his players being thrown at. Rick will give a long thought out response that you will realize later said nothing.
  2. It is customary Hahn addresses the media the first day of each homestand.
  3. How does Grandal's whiff rate compare to other high walk guys? Someone like Santana?
  4. Probably in the top 10. He has had some defensive issues. But I am no Grandal hater.
  5. Never wrote that. In fact I have praised Grandal. But eventually something has to change, and hopefully it is him hitting better, because his walkd rate is about as sustainable as Yermin hitting .450. Not many people would have a .772 OPS hitting .141 on May 24th playing regularly.
  6. As I said, it's because of his enormous amount of walks. You said no. You happen to be wrong.
  7. It ABs that didn't end in walks, Abreu has made contact far more often.
  8. That is because he takes his walks. If he was as allergic to walks as those guys, except Moncada, he would fan more than most pitchers. Of the 76 outs he has made, 32 were whiffs. 2 were a SF, and one a bunt.
  9. Swing hard in case you hit it.
  10. That's because he is trying to hit every ball about 900 feet. I think he is a bit lost at the plate right now. Hopefully it isn't because of age.
  11. It would be nice to get Robert and Eloy back by the end of the year.
  12. Granted, a walk to Yas isn't the same as a walk to Billy Hamilton, but he is getting on base turning over the line up. When you're hitting .132, a walk is anything but empty calories. If he wasn't walking, he'd be striking out. Obviously, there is cause for concern, but he didn't get much of a spring training, and he is streaky as hell anyway. I think eventually he will heat up.
  13. They are all smaller sample sizes. He is better than a .508 OPS, but they really overpaid. Maybe the Sox can get him back in a year or so with the Mets paying most of the contract.
  14. I don't know why teams mess around with Grandal right now. He can't hit a 95 mPH unless it is way down in the zone. You can throw it center cut 3 times, you'll strike him out. You have to give him credit, he can't really hit right now, but he is still not making a ton of outs.
  15. This pitcher looks a lot like A Rod.
  16. Dear Tony, Heuer is better than Ruiz.
  17. I really think Tony has no idea Leury is a better RH hitter.
  18. Right. If Leury had to get in the game, how about for Lamb vs the lefty? Just weird shit.
  19. Madrials triple yesterday should have been caught, but it probably was a Homer most other places.
  20. Tony has always seemed to love his bezt players and his worst players.
  21. Is there any reason not to pinch hit?
  22. How dare Benetti question TLR strategy. Doesn't he know only one other manager has lost more games?
