6/9| White Sox vs Jays | 7:10PM CT | TLR going for #2766
Dick Allen replied to ron883's topic in 2021 Season in Review
I don't know what will happen when they get to 100% capacity, but right now, at 60%, it's fine. You cannot go between levels. You now can walk around the park. You now can enter at any gate. You cannot bring bags like backpacks. Everything is cashless, and there are no vendors. If you are there just to watch the game, it's actually fabulous. No constant up and down the aisle blocking your view. Some separation between parties, and a good team to watch. -
I haven't looked at White Sox spin rates, but the guys I would really be concerned with are Rodon and Giolito.
-
Which could mean he just got old, or he tried to play it straight. There going to start checking guys more than once a game. This appears so widespread, it will be a major game changer. Some guys will probably be just fine. But I bet more than a few fall apart.

With Cole starting to get lit up, I wonder if the Astros pitchers were cheating more than their hitters. Verlander went from struggling to better than ever. I remember watching an MLBN segment where they were just gushing how the Astros were able to teach their pitchers how to increase spin rates. Looks like that entire team was a scam. Too bad really. They had the talent to win straight up.

I just like the fact, that the hardest thing about hitting a baseball is making contact, is something he has mastered. They can and will make him stronger. I like his chances having a really nice career.

Yerminator campaigning for HR Derby opportunity
Dick Allen replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think he would be fun to watch. But a rookie tied for 84th place in HR, shouldn't be invited. Get hot again Yerminator, and maybe you will go. -
That's legit. Brother.
-
Why would you not play to win by more than one run?
-
Robin Ventura was 0-40 and got over. I am sure if this kid is as good as most think, he will get over it too.
-
If you want to get banned, at least have some fun and do something to deserve it.

He's a clever little guy. He's got basically a half a MLB season now under his belt, and he has already done some things the naysayers said will never happen. He is starting to hit the ball a bit harder and sooner, and pulling it a little more. His defense hasn't been the GG quality that was advertised, but give it some time. He is a nice change of pace in the line up. He has a higher slugging percentage than Soxtalk favorite target Joey Gallo.

Steve Stone / Yoan Moncada's "Lack of Effort and Interest"
Dick Allen replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Stone is a good analyst but full of himself. He is a 17.0 career WAR pitcher, most of the time being slightly above replacement level. I will never forget a Soxfest when he refused to sign a ball on the sweet spot because he thought the fan would try to sell it for big bucks, Someone should tell him a new ball costs$10. A ball signed by him eventually makes it to the $5 bin at Soxfest. -
Brian Kenny who views baseball about as differently as possible as Hawk Harrelson does, just paid homage to the Hawk on MLBN. They had a live look in at the Cin/STL game, when they made the final out, he gave a Hawk like, this game is OVA!

Probably the drop in spin rate.

6/5| White Sox vs Tigers | 1:10PM CT | NBCSC

Tony got a little pissed when asked about the bunt. Says it was the right play. Tony a bit ornery being questioned. -

Boras has a rep for keeping his clients in shape. I like Rodon, but I think what he is going to want if he somehow keeps this up, isn't a good idea for the team.
-
He said he has nothing on his hat. He did say he goes to his hat a lot, Giolito looks like he has something on the bill of his hat. Clearly the White Sox have guys doing it, or they would be running out to the umpires complaining the opposition is being blatant.
-
The Cleveland pitcher clearly had some stuff in his glove, but the Sox aren't going to call it out because they have guys who do the same thing.
