  1. It was his cousin who died.
  2. If it was enough to outrage when it was changed, although the plaque remains, it should have been something that was at least mentioned . It never was. I have literally been in that park over 1,000 times, and I had heard about it. Saw the name Loretta's Lounge, thought it was a nice thing. I saw the LaRussa's Lounge this season, couldn't remember it was Loretta's Lounge. I don't like Tony LaRussa, but this really is much ado about nothing. She had her name on a sign for years, and she still will be recognized. If this pisses someone off so much, they are just looking for things to piss them off.
  3. How many people knew the story of Loretta's Lounge before the complaints started? I don't recall one post before this was changed what a nice gesture it was to name a lounge after a dedicated food service employee. They kept the plaque. Will give the family a sign. For anyone this is bothering, it's time to let it go.
  4. Actually, most of the signs were probably thrown out They have new ones this season.
  5. True, but with the 7 inning games, it's only 1 more inning than if they had 1 DH and played regular rules.
  6. They get one of the games in and play a DH during the weekend. It's not that bad since DH games are 7 innings, the opponent is Baltimore and Sox starters are dealing.
  7. 3 bunts and Ruiz in a close game. The LaRussa blunders continue. However, you can’t win if you don’t score.
  8. He was a little gimpy. Wonder why they didn't have Hamilton run for him Probably made too much sense or was unsportsmanlike.
  9. Steve just lied He has not seen a lot of dislocated elbows. I wonder if he could name one.
  10. If LaRussa gave the take sign, why was he yelling take from the dugout? Fake news.
  11. Hopefully Cowboy Joe won't celebrate his record tonight by fucking over the Sox.
  12. Tony has managed over 5000 games. Last night was the first regular season game he ever managed against the Cardinals.
  13. Considering JR hasn't given you a heads up, looks like you will have to wait a little longer to be the GM.
  14. It's the between 4-5 pm in the dugout standard press conference where he will tell you Engel is on a rehab, Robert is off crutches, Eloy is progressing, a couple of minor leagers are either hurt or recovered from being hurt, and then they will ask questions probably asking why his manager has no problem with his players being thrown at. Rick will give a long thought out response that you will realize later said nothing.
  15. It is customary Hahn addresses the media the first day of each homestand.
  16. How does Grandal's whiff rate compare to other high walk guys? Someone like Santana?
  17. Probably in the top 10. He has had some defensive issues. But I am no Grandal hater.
  18. Never wrote that. In fact I have praised Grandal. But eventually something has to change, and hopefully it is him hitting better, because his walkd rate is about as sustainable as Yermin hitting .450. Not many people would have a .772 OPS hitting .141 on May 24th playing regularly.
  19. As I said, it's because of his enormous amount of walks. You said no. You happen to be wrong.
  20. It ABs that didn't end in walks, Abreu has made contact far more often.
  21. That is because he takes his walks. If he was as allergic to walks as those guys, except Moncada, he would fan more than most pitchers. Of the 76 outs he has made, 32 were whiffs. 2 were a SF, and one a bunt.
  22. Swing hard in case you hit it.
