Bobs so bad he was the only one to know the managerial job was LaRussas if he wanted if. Itz hysterical how much this guy gets picked on here and excuses are made for others who are far less accurate with White Sox news.

Even with the HRs, his numbers were around league average and he has 3 months of control. He’s a good get, but not a guy that is going to make some team give up a really good prospect, and eat all the money even if his salary is pretty reasonable, especially with the owners crying poor. The Sox had to eat most of Ray Durhams contract for the Jon Adkins. The sooner the DBacks trade Escobar, the sooner they have to stop paying him which is going to be their biggest trade reward. Making a team take another contract can work as well, but they need to be careful. Waiting until the deadline is only going to cost them money.

The prospect price for 3 months of Escobar should be low. It is all about how much money the Sox are willing to take on.

Great point.Very irresponsible not to delay this game sooner. Let people stay home until it passes or pull off the road and wait it out until conditions improve. One exception may be the window is so tight if they don't start on time they aren't going to get it in. If that is the case, they would have no reason for their 230 hopeful starting time now.

Internal Hitting Options (Split from Escobar thread)
He might. He was the best hitter in college a few years ago and has faced plenty of RHP, just not at this level. He will figure it out.

Internal Hitting Options (Split from Escobar thread)
Not to mention he was patting himself on the back when he agreed Nick Williams was the better option. How did that work out? How is Vaughn supposed to improve vs RHP if he sits against them?

"sticky substances"
He didn't use anything. He went out of his way to say it before they started checking. He is one guy who has always been using the rosin bag, so very little reason to believe his success was due to spider tac.

6/23 Games
Yes, everyone hits in Charlotte, but you have to give it up to Jake Burger. Basically 3 years without playing, goes to AAA and mashes. Good for us. but more importantly, good for him.

Sox @ Pirates, 6/23, 11:35 CT
Frank wants TA to run, but I think his legs are sore. He hasn't been busting it for a couple of games.

"sticky substances"
He obviously used stuff before. He didn't once hit the bill of his cap last night. It used to be routine. At least once per pitch. But he still looked pretty good. It doesn't appear his performance improvement was all sticky substance.

I don't know about that. They aren't going to get much for him anyway and waiting until the deadline costs them more than $1 million. I suspect the Sox want them to eat some money.

i would like Escobar. Yes, he has been pretty meh, as has been pointed out. But he does hit HRs, something the Sox need to win games, and the fact that he has been meh would reduce the cost and maybe increase the odds he gets on a roll. Does anyone really think Adam Fraizer is going to hit .320 this year? And how about switching leagues? He is going to cost a ton, and probably regress closer to the mean..You probably get Escobar for not much more than salary relief.
