I agree.. If he can play enough.
-
Leave Judge in a 7-0 game to hit, then take him out for a runner. Bush league.
-
Very comparable as each did nothing wrong.
-
Contact play was on. I am sure in Tony's unwritten rule book, that throw has to be to first. Surprised Boone didn't go on the field and show up his fplayer.
-
They White Sox may feel bad if the get shutout. Why not take the easy out and let them have a run? Trophies for everyone.
-
Very unsportsmanlike.
-
Tony needs more Just For Men. Looks so natural no one can tell. Everyone can tell. His color is fading fast.
-
Debatable whether Odor had the bag on that DP. Really close.
-
The Twins didn’t “take a knee” in the bottom of the ninth. No sportsmanship.
-
The thing that blows me away is how he had no problem Yermin was thrown at. None. It’s a good thing this team doesn’t need a manager from a leadership and support POV. Lols like until the egos get big enough, and with a guy like Abreu around, the clubhouse is self managed. I think they just look at Tony and think, whateves.

There is a lot of pressure on hitters when they face non pitchers.
-
If you don't want a guy to swing against you 3-0, put him on first. You can do that without a pitch these days.
-
Some kid went to his or her first game and got to see Yermin hit one into the night. Maybe that will hook them. Not quite like taking 3-0, but there is still a chance.
-
I understand the point he is trying to make, but with timed games, it's advantageous to run out the clock. I just don't understand why its bush league for Yermin to try when the Twins are trying in the bottom half of the inning. If you want to call the game, call the game. Making a farce out of it by not trying is not sportsmanship in my book.
-
Right, so if he homered on 3-1, then Tony and you have no problem. Think about that for a second.
-
They don't take a knee 4 times, turn the ball over to the other team, and have the other team try to score. Minnesota was trying to get hits and score in the 9th inning, and would have whether Yermin homered on 3-0 or 3-1.
-
Rumor? The guy went out of the dugout to show up Yermin while he was rounding the bases.
-
Frank said Lucas is vintage 2018 Giolito today.
-
They put the scrubs in, but they still try.
-
I'll be fine with these old school unwritten rules the first time I see the team with a position player pitching, just bunting back to the pitcher their next AB to get the game over. If Yermin strikes out against the guy, he never hears the end of it. Hit a HR, and Tony has to worry about his legacy. I hated the hire when it happened. The team looks like it may very well run away with a division title, and I hate it even more.
-
How come he wasn't cranky when Moncada ran through a stop sign on Sunday?
-
Yes. I have a position player pitching. I expect the game to get more out of hand.
-
It pissed me off when he was hired. A few of his blunders pissed me off, but this stuff really just makes me laugh. His team tuned him out on this subject. Every day there is more evidence. His attempt to go back old school on this has failed miserably.
-
If Yermin took the pitch and it was called a strike, what happens the next pitch? Is he then allowed to try, and if so, doesn't that show how dumb that unwritten rule is?
-
Apparently the Sox got the message last night after leading by 4.
