  1. It's great. Old school German. Probably over 100 years old.
  2. There is also a shuttle bus on Wisconsin Ave. i believe that goes to the park. I used to be able to priceline rooms at the Hilton for $40 a night. Between going to see the Sox vs Brewers, and Summerfest, good times.
  3. Yes. I think Monday at the earliest. Makes no sense to throw him out there now with an off day and no DH coming up. Let him get some more ABs and he'll be good to go.
  4. Whatever the price is for Escobar, it isn't going to be much.
  5. Baseball isn't like other sports where the better team wins 95% of the time, and it's been said on here, and really, if it isn't necessarily true , it should be true, even going to games when the Sox are bad should be enjoyable. But when they are good, it's so much better.
  6. Sheets picked up Leury. That. Would have been a DP.
  7. Leury isn't a bad bench player, but he is baseball stupid.
  8. I don't believe it until Not Cishek reports it.
  9. Most likely defensively over Collins, doubt it over Zavala. But again, he is being released for some reason, and if he provides a nicely called game and plus defense, you wonder why he can't stick somewhere. Something is up there.
  10. My point being, there must be something wrong there. He actually has hit OK in his brief time, but this is at least the 3rd team that has got rid of him this year.
  11. How average can Lucroy be? Nobody wants him.
  12. Yes. Not many teams lose 4 staring players for an extended period and not pay the price. That said, the Sox just have a problem with Houston right now. A win today and tomorrow may calm the nerves a bit.
  13. price tags come down when teams don't want to pay, and they realize no one will meet their demands. I do agree with you about the potential moves, Escobar and a reliever for a couple of middling minor leaguers.
  14. He needed innings, plus didn't he have some sort of eye procedure that knocked him out a few weeks? He probably can't be worse than Foster for the most part, and is coming off his best effort.
  15. Those rat bastards. We should protest and picket.
  16. I don't see anything on his Twitter about Lopez. My point is, the guy who knows how trade conversations are going should know that, since it's been in the works for days.
  17. Yes, a source we all have.. Jimmy. James Fox, who posted it here and on twitter.
  18. How come he didn't know that when Lopez was scratched a couple of days ago? He claims to know all the trade conversations. Jimmy had it first anyway. Jimmy is one of his sources. Maybe his only source.
  19. He was always serviceable as a Cub and probably a little better than that, but they paid a gigantic price. Teams get burned occasionally trading prospects who develop into great players, but these 2 were expected to do that.
  20. He wouldn't be the first guy awful as a starter who became nails in the bullpen.
  21. Yes, but Q wasn't as good the year he was traded. The slip had begun. He was still was pretty good with the Cubs, but certainly not an ace. And they really paid an ace price.
  22. I just wonder how Not Cishek would explain how he knows the inside and out of all the White Sox trade discussions, yet had no clue Lopez was being called up and Bummer was being activated. he isn't the first fake insider who does this, and certainly not the last, but all these so called insiders have a ton of stuff that never happens, and explain it away as typical, yet have nothing about things that do happen.
  23. When Lamb is ready, I would imagine, even as good as he has looked, Burger has to go down. The one thing Burger needs to do is play, and sitting on the bench most of the time is a waste.
  24. The Cubs got out of it fairly cheaply, but it shows you signing guys to trade for prospects in a couple of months rarely pays off. The way Pederson was paid, the Cubs only paid him a couple million, but couldn't you get a prospect like Ball for that amount or much less? The Braves are going for it. The Cubs are folding. They are only a half game apart record-wise. This is definitely a sign the Cubs are going to finally dump some guys because they wouldn't have made this trade if they were still going to give it a shot. The way they handled what many thought was going to be a multiple championship dynasty should be studied. I know people say trading for Chapman was well worth it, but they could have got someone who got saves and not traded Gleybar. They shouldn't have traded Eloy or Cease either. They didn't want to trade any of their core, and they all get so expensive together even the Cubs can't pay it. I think it means with this and next wave of guys with the Sox, they may trade their vets for prospects and let the younger guys get sprinkled in, all while adding younger talent to keep the winning happening. There is no reason they shouldn't own the AL Central always.
