  1. Yes. After what we have seen this season, it wouldn't surprise me if we saw Burger playing everywhere but SS, C, and CF (don't give TLR any ideas)
  2. I think if all goes right, he could be Justin Turner. A little less contact, but a little more power. I also think Burger's walk rate will increase over time. OTOH, he can run out a grounder to SS and blow out his Achilles again and be done.
  3. To me, Jake Burger is going to have a MLB career as long as he stays healthy, and he is one of the better prospects in the organization. Trading him for a rental doesn't make sense unless it's a superstar.
  4. I don't know if he is a solution for anywhere. He is blocked but with Vaughn being able to play the OF, and Abreu with 1 more year on the contract after this season, and thinking Moncada with never get hurt again, I think he has value. I always read where he was going to hit, and he would be very popular. Seems he has taken his physical conditioning more seriously, that can only help. I would be leery of trading him. He seems like a professional hitter.
  5. Yes, but if Adolfo ever gets called up, he is going to make Adam Dunn's contact rate look like Nick Madrigal's. The guy has a shot of making it, but he has no place with the White Sox, especially when they sign Colas. You can't be spending a roster spot on him. But he is a decent trade chip. He is huge, has huge talent, has some numbers a fan base can get a little excited about, was once very highly valued. He's a guy that can make a salary dump look OK.
  6. He had a slight quad problem earlier, and he has has hammy issues in the past. He's pretty much answered the bell the last 4 seasons, and his weight is down significantly this year. I wouldn't be too worried about it, but it doesn't hurt to bring up concerns in negotiations.
  7. They will back down eventually. I guess their strategy is someone, if not one of the teams on him now, may have an injury or two and get desperate. Since his contract isn't prohibitive, they can play this off for a little while, but unless a team gets stupid, eventually the asking price will come down. In fact, if the Sox have to wait a couple of weeks, what they are willing to give up probably comes down since they will have him for a shorter period.
  8. Probably, but those are probably the best chances of actually getting something done at this time.
  9. Especially when you are counting on immediate results. If they were hoping the guy could help them out next year, OK, but they need him to be good and play all the time now.
  10. Brandon Allen. I remember when the Sox traded him to AZ. The board was up in arms. Someone guaranteed he would be a future All Star. At least the board was half right. Tony Pena sucked.
  11. Why am I petrified the Sox will say something like, after consultation, Jose's knee was re-examined and it's shattered into 10,000 pieces. He should be fine for Spring Training?
  12. He was limping on that knee before he got hit. That one is going to be a while. May, in some way, be a blessing to get him to rest it.
  13. It isn't much, but the owners have cried poor and there is a new contract to iron out with the union. So they have to play the game.
  14. I had no idea White Sox pitching allowed no hits until Lambert got lit up.
  15. If a team was offering to pick up all of Escobars money, he wouldn't be with the D Backs right now. That is not some inside knowledge, just common sense. He also doesn't make a ton.
  16. Bob said soon. People took Escobar not starting today to mean today.
  17. Yermin was 2/3 to 2nd when that ball was pitched.
  18. Does everyone still want Crochet to be a starter?
  19. But his sportsmanship has been off the charts.
