  1. Hollinger really hates the DeRossan deal. Says they are paying him double what he is worth and the draft capital way too much. Said would SA really said no if the Bulls hung on to the 2nd rounders? Has no proof, but thinks it might be an ownership decision not a player OPS. Says the Bulls as constructed are still fighting for an 8 seed and perhaps not even play in quality.
  2. When are they going to finally DFA Goodwin?
  3. Yes. Get everyone healthy and some regression to the mean would mean the offense is going to eventually explode in a good way.
  4. 4-25 with the Mets. 0-5 with 5 k's last game. The guy wanted $200 million. I think the Cubs offered him slightly less than that last year. His ego is going to cost him perhaps $100 million.
  5. The Dallas hate tonight is insane. He gave up 1 hit on a great pitch and another on a defensive miscues. He easily could have a no hitter going right now.
  6. Nice pitch. He tried to walk him, but Adam wouldn't let him.
  7. He’s been real good. The runs he gave up, the first hit was a great pitch. He walked a guy who really struck out but he didn’t get the call fro the 1B umpire, and the runs scored on a ball Engel catches 999 times out of 1000.
  8. Tony is a great guy. He divorced his first wife leaving a 5 year old and 3 year old behind. He now doesn't even acknowledge they exist.
  9. There are a lot of things to do and see and eat and drink and stay close to the ballpark. And it’s a cool place. Tough to beat for a road trip.
  10. Windhorst thinks Laurie may be coming back. Apparently he wants too much money, and other teams are shying away.
  11. Next season is just a warm up for the playoffs. The AL Central has given up.
  12. Is it for the freebies, or the right to buy 2 at $400 a board?
  13. The Dodgers won their first championship in 32 years. Magic Johnson and his group are not sportsmen. They must sell. The only true sportsmen in MLB are the Steinbrenners, although they seem to be off their game recently, the owners of the Red Sox, Giants, although both have been Reinsdorfing it in recent years. I do think JR needs to sell. The game has passed him by in more ways than one, but a sportsman wants to win, and I will never ever think JR didn't care about winning. He may have gone about it incorrectly. Hired the wrong people, signed the wrong players, used the wrong logic, but winning was important.
  14. There is no way Seby has leaped in front of Collins.
  15. LaRussa said the other day he didn't expect Lamb back for KC. I think he is ultimately going to get DFA'd.
  16. Abreu has always been hit a lot. The funny thing is his HBP rate since coming to Chicago is far lower than it was in Cuba. I just wish he would armour up.
  17. The report I saw said Rose is looking to get paid. He's been playing for vet minimum or close the past couple of seasons. The Bulls have had such bad luck bringing stars back. Of course, it's pretty much when they were done anyway, but I wouldn't want to pay Rose a lot of money. He is due for a surgery or two, and or a reappearance by General Soreness.
  18. They were showing some Charlotte games in previous seasons. Maybe because most of the interesting players have graduated to Chicago, they don't do it anymore. That station could use some alternative programming.
  19. It's because the Pirates know how to win. The Sox don't. JR is getting played by his front office. Horrible, horrible. They need to start over. The fact that there are actual people who take time out of their day to post this type of stuff on a White Sox message board when the team is basically cruising to the playoffs despite missing almost half of its line-up for a good chunk of the season, just fascinates me.
