  1. Pure Garbage has made some nice blocks this inning.
  2. The ripping of Nagy has gone national. Basically saying he is totally incompetent or purposely tried to make Fields look bad, which has to be untrue. But I wonder if the amount of outcrys, many not the usual suspects, makes it more probable Nagy loses the lockeroom.
  3. That fact that calls for Nagys job are coming from many legit football sources and not just the typical disgruntled ex Bears or Bears fanboys, has to be really embarrassing for the franchise. Commentators with no ties to the Bears are legitimately appalled with Nagys ineptness
  4. In the short term, no. But it finally shows your players and fans that accountability is coming and this is the beginning. They aren't going to the playoffs this season no matter who is coaching, but get the Nagy stench off them as soon as possible. Start making your GM list, and as soon as they are eliminated tell Ryan Pace you need him to turn in his Halas Hall key card. I would love if they gave Ted a golden parachute and told him to scram, but 2 out of 3 is better than 0 or 1. We know they can make the Super Bowl in spite of Phillips because they once did. But Nagy and Pace have had numerous chances and failed each time. They don't have a first round pick next year, the one they traded may even be higher than the pick they acquired.
  5. The McCaskeys are forever indebted to Phillips because he delivered them a refurbished Soldier Field. But he shouldn't be making football decisions. I would imagine he is going nowhere at least until the Arlington Park thing and negotiations with the city for an enhanced Soldier Field are done. At least if you fire Nagy today, you get something different on the field next week.
  6. I have no idea if Justin Fields will ever be a star. He is off the carts athletically but so is Mitch, so was Bobby Douglass, so was Vince Evans. But the Bears have to do the most they can do to hopefully allow that to happen. First, Nagy isn't going to get him there. I mentioned this before in Bears threads. My buddy is a football genius. He really is. Watching a game with him is so interesting. He told me near the end of Nagys first season when I think he was coach of the year and everyone was so happy the Bears finally had an offensive guru, that trouble was near. The league had caught up and Nagy had no answers. It has played out just like he said. And the guy who puts an offensive line together which features a 40 year old who would rather be sitting on his couch trying to block Garrett needs to go as well. That is Ryan Pace. It is no secret this duo has needed to go for a long time, and the Bears being the Bears will waste season after season until they have no other choice. I know the Bears will never win a playoff game with Matt Nagy as HC. I think the odds are stacked against them ever winning one with Pace as the GM. I
  7. Not the only media calling for his head. https://www.espn.com/
  8. So there were guys available that would have made the Sox 5 to 10 games better in the standings, and wouldn’t have cost much. Good to know, care to name names?
  9. They really should play Foles until Dalton returns, if for nothing else but Fields health. Let him run a few plays like he did the first couple games. Ryan Pace is the only GM trying to win that could downgrade an offensive line with Leno and Massey the starting tackles.
  10. Probably the biggest reason this thread exists is because the Sox took Madrigal ahead of him, and Harold hates Madrigal. Kelenic is going to be a good player, but he isn't Mike Trout on steroids like Harold wants you to believe.
  11. Once Cease threw a couple of pitches and was able to put anything on it, I figured he would be OK. Taking him out, even if he thought he could continue was wise. See you at game 3 of the ALDS Dylan.
  12. Except for the long balls, Hendriks has been unreal this season, He is going to wind up with more than 100 strikeouts than walks for a closer.
  13. It was for strips for all games.
  14. Williams developing into a star is really the one hope the Bulls have of competing for a championship any time soon. This injury is a shame. Hopefully it won't hinder him during the season, and he will be able to take the next step.
  15. The white out games at Penn State are still pretty impressive. Blackouts for playoff games will be a nice sight.
  16. They had a pre sale for season ticketholders. From what's left, you are going to need a telescope, and a walkie talkie to speak with anyone you go with, because it's mostly singles.
  17. It’s a White Sox playoff game, and the ALDS is not that expensive of a ticket. About the same as a Sox vs. Cubs.
  18. Close enough for Danny to whine.
  19. Just stay home, and whine on Soxtalk. But the Bears aren’t home that day.
  20. I agree. If the Sox win one in Cleveland, I don't think Monday's game will be played.
  21. Even though he was a total ass to reporters who were asking about his health, I feel real bad for Rodon. He has cost himself a lot of dough. If he really believes in himself, signing for 1 year, and being healthy next season could make him a lot of money in the long run, but I wouldn't want to bet on it. He gave far more than anyone could have hoped this season. And the money he lost, no one thought he would have been able to find 6 months ago.
  22. These games have sucked and been pretty boring. But all that really matters is they have put themselves in a position where it doesn’t matter, and what happens staring October 7th is all that counts. Crying about these games is like crying about spring training games. Sure, you would like to win, but it doesn’t really matter. Maybe it will be like 2005 and they go on a little hot streak to end the season and stay hot when it matters.
  23. The problem is Soxtalk thought legit answers were Jason Heyward or Kole Calhoun.
