  1. It is a fact. This team hasn't had it's full line up all year. Whether they ever will is a pretty good question, but if they do, it's a different team than they are currently fielding, but keep being miserable. It's a lot better than being happy. Even their 3 top starters are out right now. As long as everyone is healthy. this team is stacked. And the flip the switch narrative is wrong as well. It infers some sort of effort issue. Teams go from hot streaks to cold streaks back to hot streaks all the time. So apparently flipping a switch is pretty common.
  2. It is a weird thread, but he's still very young and has a ton of talent. He'll figure something out. If Seattle wanted to trade him, I'm sure the Sox would love to have him.
  3. If the Sox won last night, this thread wouldn't have existed. Everyone can blame DK because he wasn't very good, and hasn't been good, but the fact is, their line up is missing several pieces. Kuechel would have had to have thrown a shutout to win last night. Once the bats get healthy, everything will fall into place. You won't have to worry about Kuechel, he won't be in the playoff rotation.
  4. No way. It's clear they are just above .500 because of a total lack of effort and intensity. It has nothing to do with missing key players. They are screwed. They will be lucky to even be in a game after the 5th inning in the playoffs .
  5. Yes. If the choice is a skeleton crew with homefield vs. a full roster without, I'd take the extra road game every time.
  6. Yes a face. But a knee is almost impossible. It has to be in Oakland because it is the only place without a railing, and it has to be someone prone to weird injuries.
  7. I can at least understand some anti-vaxxers , afte rall, I have never had a flu shot, one because I am petrified of needles, but mostly because I have seen too many people get a terrible flu shortly after getting the shot, but I don't understand their inconsistency. If the vaccine is bad, so bad, unproven....why was hydroxychloriquin perfect, and horse dewormer an excellent choice? It would be interesting to see who actually loaded up on stock with these things right before they became the drugs of choice.
  8. Jimmy looked really good last night. Also, I am pretty sure Eloy is the only player who could take a direct shot to the knee while sitting in the dugout.
  9. No bit. Read game threads when the Sox are losing. My take is optimistic compared to many.
  10. I have no idea what an internet sticker is.
  11. The ESPN standings have the White Sox playoff odds at 100%. They are crazy. The lead is only 11 and a scant 10 in the loss column with more than 3 weeks left to play, and a 5 game guaranteed to be swept series in Cleveland.. They need new mathematicians.
  12. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Danny Wright. I went to Yankee Stadium on my birthday many years ago, and Danny beat the Rocket and the Yankees quite handily. Jeff Leifer hit one into the 3rd deck. iIRC the only run Danny allowed was an Alfonso Soriano homer. The very next day Miquel Olivo made his major league debut. I remember seeing him talking to Manuel and a couple of other coaches in the hotel lobby early that morning when I was going to get some breakfast.
  13. Kelenic is only 1 for 3 vs. Ray, so pretty impossible for mere mortals to hit.
  14. I do think the Sox have been burned enough by the just don't give him anything to. Hit strategy where 4 fingers should be standard. The weird thing is Tony had no problem putting them up for a washed up Pujols earlier this season.
  15. It’s hard not to care if they win or lose, but he is right. The most important thing is to be at as close to full strength as possible in October.
  16. Crochet has gone from the guy Renteria needed to get a playoff win, to a guy who pitches once a week if he is lucky in 6 run games. He has been throwing pretty well as of late. Either there is some sort of injury concern or his usage is just stupid.
  17. He’s worthless. Really, any pitcher who gives up any runs really is. Don’t let the fact that he has whiffed the last 5 fool you, he is getting shelled.
  18. I would like the Sox chances a bit more if JR wasn’t so cheap and brought McCann back, let RH trade for a real RF in Jason Heyward, whose OPS is almost .600, and is only owed around $50 million. Cheapness is also the only reason Garrett Richards wasn’t signed for the rotationand LaStella isn’t at 2B instead of Hernandez. Complete fail.
  19. Sox really have no chance to win a playoff game, especially if Cease shows the Royals can score a run off him. Like he is just supposed to turn it on for the playoffs. I hope no one was fooled by this awful franchise into believing they could actually win games, and gave them their hard earned money to watch them. Kimbrel got the win last night, but as Ray Ray knows, it was the Royals who bailed him out striking out 3 times in an inning. Did you see the professional AB by Lopez with the single into left on the Kimbrel meatball?
  20. This Grandal contract is just a real killer for the White Sox. Why did they get rid of McCann?
  21. If Cease gives up a run today, the playoffs look like a fist round sweep, if the Sox even make it. He really needs to be Jacob Degrom for the Sox to have the slightest chance.Only a 10 1/2 game lead, which really is smaller since it is only 9 in the loss column. A 5 game series in Cleveland where there is no chance the Sox win a game. With Gio hurt, Rodon limited, Lynn with a bad knee, Kuechel really bad, Cease is all the Sox really have. They have gone backwards since 2020. Time to back the truck up. What a dreadful season.
  22. Yeah, should have traded Kopech. They should have traded Moncada after 2019. Hopefully they will trade Robert and Eloy this off-season before it is too late. Fuck winning. Let’s get some prospects.
  23. Gutsy move taking him out here. He has only given up 6.
