Yes, but an option is more attractive to other teams. Edit, saw the rule, so he is coming back for sure. I still think he will have a career. He should be on Detroit or Pittsburgh or somewhere he would actually get a chance to succeed. It seems half the time he caught was against LHP. It's got to be hard to be sharp playing as infrequently as he has.

Liam Hendriks' wife identified pitch tipping
Dick Allen replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
My wife and I were walking down the street one night and a fortune teller was trying to give me an advertisement. I told her I didn't want it but that she probably already knew that. My wife got so mad at me. She is an intelligent woman a lawyer with an LLM. But she believes in these people. It is so bizzarre. -
I agree. He had the bullpen going the second he gave up a hit.
-
So if you were managing the White Sox in October, you would rather have Heuer than Kimbrel, correct? Since you are twisting and turning stats in an attempt to fit your narrative, wouldn't the 2021 Codi Heuer bear some blame for the White Sox overrated bullpen?

Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stones.

I've never understood the "just don't give him anything close" approach. You are risking a PB, WP or as we saw when they used to have to throw 4 pitches for an intentional walk, a couple get pretty close to the zone. Tony should be mad only at himself. He only had to raise 4 fingers.

Cesar Hernandez traded to White Sox, Konnor Pilkington to CLE
Dick Allen replied to KrankinSox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Clearly Pilkington is going to win several Cy Youngs in his future, and most likely, if he stays healthy, be in the HOF. Hernandez is up there in all time terrible, but not as bad as Madrigal who definitely would be the worst player ever to put on a major league uniform if Zack Collins wasn't standing in the way. -
2018 Lance Lynn had an 11.57 postseason ERA, Hendriks postseason ERA was 18.00, and according to the Guaranteed Rate commercial Lucas Giolito was the worst pitcher in baseball. The Sox are screwed.
-
But you are going on about 2018 and also admitted a bad outing or 2 blows everything out of proportion.

The first 8 innings he pitched in the postseason in his career, he gave up 1 hit and struck out 15.

The first WP tonight, a defensive catcher probably blocks the ball. The one that scored the run, Johnny Bench in his prime was probably 50-1 stopping it.

These last 2 “disasters”, one good thing is he isn’t getting hit very hard.

I personally think they really never had any intention of keeping Kimbrel next year, so it might be awkward with Hendriks to make Kimbrel the closer, and then go back to Hendriks next year after he really didn’t lose the job. But at this point, the Sox need to win some games and have Hendriks unavailable and see what happens with Kimbrel in the 9th. If it is more of what has been going on, then th 8th vs. 9th is BS. If he is mowing them down, start giving Hendriks some 8ths and see what happens.
