Fans at opening day? Fans at Opening Day! (confirmed)
Dick Allen replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It's 8,122 per game. Probably will start out season ticketholder only for a while. Even a few season ticketholders will be shutout at least a little bit. As a long time season ticketholder, I can say I have been to a lot of games there were nowhere near 8,122 in attendance. -
He shit his pants thinking the starter could not give up a run. Then he wound up screwed later on. He was bent over with his hands on his knees the entire series. Seems like a good guy, but clearly not a MLB playoff manager.

Unless someone like Madrigal performs very poorly or someone gets hurt, Leuri isn't going to get much of a shot except for pinch running and maybe going in occasionally to LF late in a game.

What will be interesting to me about the Cubs is their starting rotation. It will probably be by far the softest tossing in baseball. Can that still work? Will it be a huge disadvantage or perhaps an advantage because of uniqueness.

Study: White Sox fans drink the most of any fanbase
Dick Allen replied to Chick Mercedes's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I don’t think this survey is very scientific. One factor is it’s easier to get a beer at a Sox game with smaller crowds, and lines, and a lot more access to vendors. If they were drawing 35k a night, it would be a little tougher to get a lot of beers. -
Ruiz has no options left. I can’t believe the Sox were so scared of losing him, they wouldn’t add another real pitcher who would have needed a spot on the 40.
-
He was a bad signing because when you say you are going to spend money, you almost have to, and the Bulls usually lose the musical chairs game with the other teams that have room for max contracts, and all that usually gets you is Boozer or Eddie Robinson or Ron Mercer. 2 of them who JR paid to go home.
-
Yes but it was well known he wasn’t the pick of the litter. When it comes to NBA free agency the Bulls almost always get to choice C or worse. Pau Gasol was a pretty good one. But he played cheap, and was past his prime. Boozer was one of the most empty 20/10 performers in league history. No D at all. But he did have that spray on hair line. I also think his teammates liked him. But he wasn’t a guy that would win you games.

They would be in a spring training type of thing. So it still could be done. He would just stay in Glendale.

I would imagine it would be when they get the go ahead for some decent capacity. I would think they have more than enough in season tickets or at least extremely close right now to fill a 25 % capacity. -
I saw an interview with a doctor who performs these kind of surgeries. He said Tiger will be good to go in about a year. Then he will be 46, so father time is working against him as well.

A guy the fans of the Charlotte Knights will be hoping to avoid attending his appearances in a couple of months. -
Hope he is cleared soon and doesn't get the issues Moncada had last year.

If a player cuts up jerseys, it isn't the manager's fault, whether it is Robin Ventura or Tony LaRussa or AJ Hinch. It was a Chris Sale production and childish, although those uniforms were ugly.

Compound fractures in both legs.

On paper, yes, but just get there. If the Sox pitchers are on a roll, they will be able to beat anybody.

Only JR knew of new TLR DUI upon interview and hire

In the spirit of forgiving past mistakes, I think they should let William Ligue Jr. and his son back into the park. Sure, they hope on the field and beat up a KC Royals coach, but it was a misdemeanor. Why do they have lifetime bans? -

2 DUIs? No problem, we can work with that. 3 DUI's? That would be too much. You're not employable. -

It is interesting that a guy who was supposedly hired with zero tolerance if another one of these pops up, didn't even warrant a discussion whether said behavior should disqualify him from the job.
