  1. Yep, and it is going to be in conjunction with the return of Tupac and JFK Jr. from phony death island.
  2. Yeah, they just say everyone is a candid except Ozzie to throw everyone off. ozzie has to be the choice, assuming Terry Bevington doesn’t want to come back.
  3. His road and home stats those years were very similar.
  4. That was one of the best baseball games I have ever watched. Every inning, both teams answered, and what a play to end it.
  5. As they said on SNL last night, we have turned so many corners, we are back to where we started.
  6. I think if they do that, they should also ban hit and runs. That is basically forcing a shift and trying to hit the ball away from it. If more players just hit away from their shifts, it wouldn’t be so extreme.
  7. Didn’t you hear POTUS last night? We are rounding the turn. It is going away.
  8. There is no reason the Sox should offer him arb. Offer him $1 million or $2 million with some incentives so if he plays well he gets $6 million, and tack on a team option at $6 or 7 million. I think he would be a fool to turn it down.
  9. We won’t even need the vaccine.
  10. My cousin and his wife got Covid about a month ago. They both recovered. They had coughs, and not much energy. It lasted for about a week. Their doctor now tells them they have immunity for at least 90 days. I wonder if he knows something they aren’t telling the rest of us.
  11. If the White Sox had a bunch of Harold Baines like actors on their team, KW and RH probably don't get upset when Contreras gets hit after a pretty sweet bat flip. But they have guys that do the same thing.
  12. That the whole thing. They have always said wearing a mask, may help you slightly, but its main purpose is to help protect those around you. The guy who is not wearing a mask doesn’t care about anyone else, and POTUS and the like spread “fake news” about masks.
  13. He is actually mocking Joe Biden for saying he would listen to the scientists. I guess it will just magically go away once it gets warm is the way to think. Says if he listened to Fauci, over 500k would be dead. No logic, but that doesn't matter. And of the 3 (Biden, Trump, Fauci) 1 got the virus, and it wasn't the two Trump thinks have no clue.
  14. Hinch was a candidate for the Cubs job back in the day but Ricky had a better interview.
  15. Think about how sad our system is when doing the right thing and blowing the whistle on people doing bad things gets you a worse fate than just cheating.
  16. If you are a manager and your subordinates are doing bad things, you make it stop or report it up the flag pole. At the very least, you document the contact you made with the higher up. There is no way Hinch pushed this upstairs and they refused to do anything. If that were the case, he wouldn't have been fired, scapegoat needed or not.
  17. It depends what you are blowing the whistle on. If someone was a whistleblower on Peregrine a few years ago, I'm sure they wouldn't be PNG in the business. The problem with Hinch being a whistleblower is he was part of it, whether he really wanted to be or not. I won't be so pissed if they hire him, but while his baseball brain may be top notch, he is a very flawed "leader".
  18. Mike Fiers was the whistleblower here. He got a job. Granted, he has taken heat from some places, but I think more people think he did the right thing than those who think he is a douchebag for speaking out. Will Hinch whistleblow if this happens again under his watch? Because if he doesn't and someone does, not only will he not be getting another job, he will have the lifetime ban from baseball tatoo on his forehead.
  19. If he did that, and the owner fired him because of the scandal he told him to keep quiet, I think we would have heard about it by now.
  20. Thank God for this defense or the Bears are the Jets. They have to be the most boring offensive 5-1 team since teams actually started passing the ball.
  21. Even if the Bears win, Nagy needs to be fired. He is awful.
  22. It’s a bit different because AJ Hinch is the manager of the baseball team meaning he is pretty high up the flag pole, and if he takes the bullet and leaves, he will have no problem landing a similar job. It isn’t like most of us, if we stick our necks out we are trying to live on unemployment checks. IMO, he easily could have had this end if he wanted to. First, by stopping it himself. He is in charge.Second, by getting help if that didn’t work, and telling Lunhow if it doesn’t stop, I am resigning and telling everyone why. If he did that, he still would be managing the Astros, and there is a good chance Lunhow would still be in baseball. And the Astros probably would have won anyway. if your point is there was nothing he could do, you are saying with him as a manager, the inmates run the asylum, so he must be pretty shitty at his job. If he wants to blame Alex Cora, fine. Then the second a new camera goes up after Hinch destroys the first, Cora should have been dismissed. And he isn’t whistleblowing on someone above him, he is whistleblowing on employees he manages.
  23. First I would tell the team to stop. Second, I would tell the Front office. And if none of that worked I would resign and tell the world what is going on, This is the problem I have with Hinch. Sure he destroyed a camera or 2, but he is in charge, and they put a new camera up. For all of you who think that is nothing, I doubt you would think it is nothing if Ricky Renteria had the same thing happen. I doubt you would think there really is very little a manager could do in that situation if it was Robin Ventura. It is totally fucked up, and any way you slice it, he is complicit. Cheating has always been part of baseball Stealing signs the old fashioned way, no one,IMO should have a problem with, but this way, was a home field advantage no one should ever have. Hinch is lucky he only got one year. He didn’t kill anyone. He didn’t rape anyone. He didn’t beat his wife. He isn’t a pedophile. So I guess he deserves another chance. Sure Dallas Keuchel likes him. But a lot of people want the Sox to sign Joc Pederson. If you are Joc, and the money is similar, do you want to play for a guy whose blantant cheating may have cost you a ring? If you played in the AL West or were on a team that the Astros eliminated during this time, what do you think of AJ Hinch? What about the rest of the league.? There has not exactly been a shortage of Astros hate from players around the entire league since this story broke. I do think he is the far greater choice than LaRussa. Supposedly his baseball mind many who know of him, a lot better than me, think is unmatched. But I wonder what kind of toll the scandal takes on him. There is going to be a lot of pressure on him, both fair and unfair. But at least you can say he brought it on himself. A place like Chicago, where he would be expected to win big right away might be the wrong move for him. If the White Sox won 88 games next season and either fail to make the playoffs or are eliminated quickly, his entire record in Houston will be questioned. Many will say his WS title is not legit, the only reason he has it is cheating.
  24. Because it is probably a two horse race, and one of the horse, if he were to manage, would only manage the White Sox, and the other horse is suspended for another week and a half.
  25. He came on at the end but to me Calhoun is still a low OBP guy. If it were me, I would offer Mazara a low salary with some I’m incentives so if he comes up big he gets his arb number and a team option. If he says no, move on. The market should be flooded with players. A ton of non tenders is expected. Plus, with Robert in CF and Engel the 4th OF , they can get creative with a RF. It doesn’t necessarily have to be someone who has a history of great glove work. This is kind of like the early to mid 90s before Maggs, when the Sox used to rent a RF. Ellis Burks, DJ, Dave Martinez, Danny Tartabull...they all did pretty well. And they were acquired coming off injury or poor performance.
