  1. Rickey Henderson had some nice bat flips. He hated LaRussa, and I think LaRussa hated him, but he put him in the line up and Rickey was pretty great.
  2. Maybe the Bears will bring back Ditka. He's old and ornery like LaRussa, and obnoxious with a ring, like Ozzie.
  3. That is the thing. JR already regrets firing him once. He will never fire him again. They hire Tony, he manages as long as he wants, results be damned.
  4. Yes. Bash brothers, Dave and Rickey Henderson. Eck on the mound. Some of the biggest showboats of their era. I don't think TLR would be so opposed to bat flips as long as TA performs. I wonder if Not Steve has the same source that told him LaRussa is nothing but a smokescreen telling him LaRussa would only manage if JR spends all of his money. LOL. I don't agree with Ron on much, but he did hit the nail on the head. The Sox finally have the premium job available, and they are going to blow it on a 76 year old guy who hasn't managed since 2011? That is crazy.
  5. The article Our Chuck had in a STL paper about Duncan was interesting. He has some physical issues, he doesn't think he would be able to go out to the mound. And the White Sox chopped him from the payroll as a Covid casualty. Although he did say if Tony gets the job, he may do something.
  6. What, this is about Covid. The administration is saying the pandemic is over. That is news.
  7. He's really hammered them already. He got the Chinese trade deficit down from $437 billion to $435 billion, and all it took was Americans paying more taxes, err tariffs on Chinese goods, and a big socialist bailout to the most well off farmers. BTW, the US trade deficit overall is up 20% during this administration's time.
  8. I also predict, if Trump is retained, he starts treating a lot more republicans like he treats democrats.
  9. The White House released a list of POTUS accomplishments while in office. One was ending the pandemic.
  10. There is going to be chaos. A lot of people are talking about 2016 but the polls weren't so wrong back then. Clinton had more votes and it was within the margin of error. And the chances of that happening twice, seem quite small to me. It's like when the Sox had Boston down 2-0 in the ALDS. Just because the year before the Sawks came back from down 3-0 vs. the Yankees, people were saying they had them right where they wanted them. Not really. Trump eked out some swing state wins. I read where the polling is better now, but the mail in vote count is the big question, and ultimately there may be games played with electors. But there is virtually no chance Biden doesn't win the popular vote, and if it is played straight, probably very little chance he isn't the one elected. But unless it is a total blowout, there are going to be a lot of games played.
  11. Remember when Matt Nagy was thought of as an offensive guru? That was awesome.
  12. What he should have done is what Al Aliva did with James McCann. Let the bum go.
  13. The turnout will be great, and a lot of lawyers will get paid with the litigation that will follow. That is my prediction.
  14. So to get this straight, the Trump administration pitted state vs state for PPE like The Apprentice, Governors edition, then told us they had this totally under control. Then said it should be gone by Easter or when it gets warm. Then said by Memorial Day it will all be behind us. Then told us they have this squashed, even declared victory , although there may be little "embers" from time to time to put out, to now telling us, nothing we could do except wait for a vaccine and therapeutics. Oh, and that $100,000 treatment of therapeutics POTUS got, if he gets reelected, that will be available to everyone for free even though there are 25k more new cases every day that the current number of treatments available.. What's not to believe? I do think one of the bigger problems with this pandemic is that it fell on an election year. If it happened last year or next, I don't think wearing a mask would have become a political statement. I think listening to the scientists even if that meant taking longer than the government wanted would have occurred, at least at a more frequent rate. I don't think shopping for a doctor on Fox News who says wearing masks do nothing, and no one would really be that sick would have been a priority to add to the task force.
  15. Yep, and it is going to be in conjunction with the return of Tupac and JFK Jr. from phony death island.
  16. Yeah, they just say everyone is a candid except Ozzie to throw everyone off. ozzie has to be the choice, assuming Terry Bevington doesn’t want to come back.
  17. His road and home stats those years were very similar.
  18. That was one of the best baseball games I have ever watched. Every inning, both teams answered, and what a play to end it.
  19. As they said on SNL last night, we have turned so many corners, we are back to where we started.
  20. I think if they do that, they should also ban hit and runs. That is basically forcing a shift and trying to hit the ball away from it. If more players just hit away from their shifts, it wouldn’t be so extreme.
  21. Didn’t you hear POTUS last night? We are rounding the turn. It is going away.
  22. There is no reason the Sox should offer him arb. Offer him $1 million or $2 million with some incentives so if he plays well he gets $6 million, and tack on a team option at $6 or 7 million. I think he would be a fool to turn it down.
  23. We won’t even need the vaccine.
  24. My cousin and his wife got Covid about a month ago. They both recovered. They had coughs, and not much energy. It lasted for about a week. Their doctor now tells them they have immunity for at least 90 days. I wonder if he knows something they aren’t telling the rest of us.
