It was a bad day but young teams tend to look really bad at times. If last season was the 60 game pandemic season, Nelson Cruz could probably have been had in the offseason on a minor league comtract. All that said, it would be nice if this offense became dynamic and was able to sustain it for more than a couple games at a time.

The players like Renteria. That is a big part of the job, but he really doesn’t have much feel for the bullpen, probably the biggest part of managing. This goes back to his days with the Cubs. He isn’t the guy who is going to lead a team that is not totally stacked to a title.

He could if all he was going to do is pinch run. Ryan Goins is a 32 year old pinch runner with 6 career stolen bases. Obviously, when TA gets back, maybe even today, Ryan is probably gone, so it would have just delayed another move which would have been Basabe. Zavala is probably safe because they need a catcher in Schaumburg.

They called up Anderson. Ryan Goins really serves no purpose. TA and Madrigal are hurt and he still only pinch runs. He's obvious as well. All in all, it really isn't a big deal, but the Sox still have several guys who suck. At least you can't go easily 15 deep with easy DFA if needed decisions anymore.
