  1. It's only 7 fewer starts. A playoff start or 2, I will give you, but I am sure owners are worried there might not be fans in the stands for at least a portion of next season. If they get some clarity on that over the winter, someone may bite.
  2. If it does, good thing the Sox didn't meet the asking price.
  3. The Rangers beat guy says he is staying.
  4. Go kick the Twins collective asses.
  5. When he would come in from the bullpen for the Sox last year, our section would yell Oh shit.
  6. I do think a beat writer or two expected the Sox to get a pitcher. They still might.
  7. If the Sox had to trade Kopech or Cease or Vaughn to get Lynn or Clevinger, I am glad they are standing pat, if that is what they are doing.
  8. That used to be a sign something was immanent
  9. You were the first to let us know that this wasn't a playoff team. Now with 26 games left and only a 98% shot at the playoffs, we know they are going to need a lot of help to meet your expectations.
  10. You need to relax Tom. You need some Tom time, a little TT.
  11. I suspect if nothing that he can try to say was the trade happens, he will try to get off on a technicality, but he said it was done, and would be announced or at the very least leaked last night. Here we are a half hour from the deadline and still nothing. I suspect the Sox will make a trade. At this point I think agreeing to one last night is BS.
  12. At the very least, he jumped the gun in a very big way. But a trade done yesterday with all these guys hitting up their sources every couple of minutes. Not leaking is a longshot. Plus he said he knew of no players, then threw out a name.
  13. I could see that in the offseason but not with games going on, and only 26 left. You want your guy there as quickly as possible.
  14. The funny thing is, the Sox were one of the few teams that opted out of a shared feed to scout at the alternate site.
  15. Can someone give me one trade or signing bucket has broken in the last 5 years? I will save you some time. There isn't anything. It is amazing how many people continue to ask him what he knows. You will get just as accurate information if you go to 7-11 and ask the guy filling the Slurpee machine.
  16. The only thing that could save Not Steve is that a deal was done but the White Sox were using something from that return for another deal.
  17. Not Steve Cishek sadi reinforcements are on the way. That's a pretty good source for standing pat.
  18. I think they will get a pitcher. Probably a reliever. Maybe Phelps. Bradley makes sense, as he could become the closer next year and they could let Colome walk instead of paying him.
  19. 2004 trade deadline was the best. There were a ton of big moves right at the end. It's when Nomar went to the Cubs. He used to live by me. I would see him walking around alone a lot. Nobody recognized him. It's also when the Sox got Contreras.
  20. It would get you pumped and Jon Daniels fired.
  21. Foster had a higher leverage appearance on Saturday as well. I think they were really trying to give him a day off yesterday. It didn't work out but he got a win.
  22. Sox takes'hot take.
  23. He and DiPoto sometimes trade like its fantasy baseball.
  24. Sox will trade for someone like Archie Bradley and Not Steve Cishek will take full credit even though he was wrong. If they talk to Hahn he will say they were in on several names but ultimately it didn't make sense to forfeit a lot of the future for a very brief present. If they interview KW he will say you wouldn't believe the trade we had on the table. Would have been the biggest trade in history. Jerry was more than willing to take the huge commitment, ultimately ownership on the other side nixed the deal.
  25. Sox wanted him in his regular routine, hoping he throws 135 pitches today.
