  1. I read in The Athletic, the new spring training will be held at each team’s home ballpark. And that there will be up to a 30 man roster and 20 man taxi squad. It will be interesting to see how teams use the taxi squad. Probably will include keepimg several top prospects they have no intention of playing around for at least some development. If you are willing to take on some cash, there are going to be a lot of opportunities to improve your team.
  2. While I agree some players, if not many, will opt out, I still hope they play. It is an asterisk year anyway. Get some development, and maybe you get lucky. Plus, it’s a lot better to watch than the current choices on TV. And if the NBA and NHL and even MLS make it back and baseball doesn’t because of money, the industry would have just shot itself again, and this time may be lethal. No matter what, owners are going to take a bath this year. One interesting thing will be next off seasons free agent market. I am pretty sure we will be back to spring training signings. This pandemic, even if there is a vaccine by next season is going to coast some really good players a lot of money.
  3. At least one person who was at that Lake in the Ozarks pool party last week has the virus. Look for quite a few more soon. Dumbasses.
  4. Take it for what it’s worth,Heyman got a text from a player who told him chances of a season are next to zero.
  5. Trump terminating US relationship with WHO. That is not good.
  6. Was there anyone as happy as me to watch Tom Brady suck at golf on Sunday? He did have a few nice shots. One great one. But for the most part, he looked like a guy who would have a tough time breaking 100. That and splitting his pants was pretty, pretty, pretty good.
  7. And when you retrospected the 1998 draft and took Buerhle in the 1st round instead of the 38th, you would have been pretty happy about it. Kip Wells was the Sox #1 pick last year. You could have taken all the guys the Sox selected before Buehrle and you wouldn't have traded Buehrle for them 3 years after the draft. Obviously, tools play, but pick the guy who is going to have the most success. I am not qualified to give my opinion, especially this draft. It is going to be really interesting.
  8. Apparently the cupboard being so bare, 3 years in office wasn’t enough time to fix it, is, shockingly, also a lie. https://www.stltoday.com/opinion/editorial/editorial-if-the-pandemic-preparedness-cupboard-was-bare-it-was-trumps-doing/article_bd1bb8d6-7477-590d-af72-ae4e305de601.html
  9. Would McCub be invited to the parade? Oh wait, parade cancelled. Rocky has no worries.
  10. I read where if everything goes right and somehow they have a vaccine by the end of the year, the front line health professionals will be the first vaccinated. It will take quite a while to get close to everyone vaccinated.
  11. Apparently the Trumpers next issue , and will certainly become Greg’s is contact tracing.
  12. You are exactly who Russian bots are targeting. I know facts don’t matter to you. Why should they, but here is fact checking your video.and just remember the last time Fauci was seen with Trump, he was wearing a mask . You are a danger to society. https://www.factcheck.org/2020/05/outdated-fauci-video-on-face-masks-shared-out-of-context/
  13. Trump demanded churches be open today. Surprised he passed on a chance to attend choosing to golf again instead.
  14. The Sox should have an advantage playing in empty stadiums. They are used to it.
  15. It’s a good goal but who really knows? The big Oxford one has hit a roadblock. There are many things they have been working for many years for a vaccine to no avail. Hopefully it comes, but to think it happens before the end of the year and the vast majority of the population will actually have it by next June or July, let alone when the baseball season starts is pretty optimistic.
  16. A high school pool party in Arkansas just created a cluster of cases. 2 hair stylists exposed more than 140 people. Rogue church gatherings have created hot spots. Why does stupidity elsewhere warrant opening up churches to kill more? You must be trolling. You and your loved ones should just defy the dictators and do what you want. Just remember you were warned of the consequences of your actions, so don’t feel sorry for yourself or ask for pity when what you have been told will happen actually happens. All you should get is a big thank you from everyone for making this worse and extending everyone else’s suffering.
  17. Reading Passan on Espn.com, there seems to be a big question whether MLB will be able to play in front of fans in 2021.
  18. I think one pastor had it right when he said the church is not closed, the building is. Why can’t you worship virtually? For a bunch of people who think they are so decent, they certainly aren’t will to sacrifice much to actually prove it. Why won’t some even wear masks? Why is that an assault on your rights and the requirement that you must have insurance and wear a seat belt to drive a car not?
  19. Trump now demanding all churches be open. Says if Governors don't oblige, he will override them. Truly a man of God.
  20. So, scientists and doctors correct, Trump wrong. Who would have figured? Apparently, there is a dire shortage of ICU beds in Alabama. The other sad news is a new study indicates that as many as 42% of the recent job losses will not come back. Competent leadership matters. There is all kinds of info how this was basically ignored for a couple of months, and it has really hurt everyone except the filthy rich. Bezos net worth has gone up $34 billion since this began, Zuckerberg $25 billion.
  21. Right, but their contracts aren't up. If they are blaming a trainer for injuries, the new regime won't be much better than the old one. This isn't the same staff that almost killed Loul Deng. The Bulls just have injury prone players. It's really bizarre. The game is far less physical than it used to be. Training programs are far more advanced. Players are playing fewer minutes, but more guys seem to miss time hurt. I wonder where this is headed. Maybe to the Dr. Tom Davis style. He studied this stuff 50 years ago, and did load management before anyone knew load management wasn't a pornographic term. He would run, press the entire game, and make hockey like substitutions.
  22. Another encouraging note, just in my small sample size, I take a walk around the neighborhood for lunch, and the amount of mask wearers is growing substantially. Today, I only saw 1 person without a mask, and he was a guy that had to be at least 85, with a cane, walking a dog. Everyone else, covered. I was very happy.
  23. Maybe he has a trainer he just loves who happens to be available. I think Tanaka was probably a victim of his contract being up, and the new regime not knowing him.
  24. Would people be wearing gloves while playing tennis? Every player touches the ball, the virus could be on the ground where it could get on the ball. You are sweating,s oo probably touching your face.
  25. It is amazing how many buy his shtick.
