That’s why I mentioned earlier I think it was probably torn some when he came up.
-
It could be worse. As long as his clock is started finding out about it in December or during spring training further backing up his rehab is worse.if it was going to happen in the next 6 months, now is the best time.

It’s the gamble you take with every pitcher, especially with someone like Kopech. In fact I mentioned it with Eloy. What if he came up and twisted his ankle or pulled an oblique? You just wasted servic time. my thing with Kopech had nothing to do with injury, although now it shows it’s ugly head. I just wondered what exactly he would have gotten out of pitching to the Detroit Tigers. The only thin I could think of was getting his arms conditioned for extra innings, but if you really look at him and count 30or so starts, he is within range already of pitching enough to be fine next season had they kept him down. He wasn’t going to be a 200 inning pitcher unless he changed a bit.To me it wasn’t worth the control. I am not going to say told you so. What happened was really unlucky. If they kept him down, maybe it happens in Charlotte, or during the winter, or at spring training, then everyone is in the same page and RH, KW are geniuses.

Pitchers are all sore this time of year. If it really wasn’t barking too much, you cannot blame Kopech. He did pitch mostly 93-94, but did hit 96. Besides I really doubt pitching or not pitching the other night would make any difference regarding the outcome. The damage was done. Whether it was a week from now, this winter or next spring, he would have had an exam that came to the same conclusion.

That’s the thing. Some guys have the surgery, sit out a year, and come back fine. Some wind up sucking, and for some, it’s the beginning of injury after injury. Hopefully he will be fine.
-
I think this probably started before he came up. I would bet he had some sort of tear every pitch he threw in the major leagues. His first star, he was throwing 95-96. As amped as he was, I would have figured several 100s in there.

At this point the only thing anyone can do is hope he fully recovers.
-
He always struck me as a guy who probably had a better chance of having this happen than not due to his fascination with the gun.
-
This is really a shame. I would imagine it was not a sudden injury, but the timing is unreal. Calling him up for the 14 innings cost the Sox 2 years of control. I hope it isn’t a sign of things to come.
-
I would guess it was going to happen anyway, but a couple weeks sooner and no one would have complained they kept him in Charlotte. Tough break. Hopefully he recovers. Some do really well, some don’t.

So the WH has the people who are supposedly saving the country from Trump, look for the person who wrote the op-ed telling everyone so. When will Chief Inspector Clouseau be called? Does anyone there realize how ridiculous this is?
-
Yes, I have no problem with that. They probably don't want to do it in a car on a main street in a crowded town though. They should also allow marriage and women.

2 priests were arrested for having sex in a car on Ocean Blvd. in Miami. Turns out one of them was from Arlington Heights. The guy he replaced in Arlington Heights had gone to jail on a child porn conviction.

It rains at minor league games. He just didn’t have it yesterday.
-
Which is fine, but they should get a veteran who may get them something if they need to ditch him near the deadline. Shields won't. There are always several vets coming off bad years or injuries that are available for cheap.
-
It would have been interesting to see what would have happened had he stayed in Japan and he needed this surgery.
-
Great, but he didn't eat innings until this year, and it continuing next is not realistic. As to working with the younger pitchers.... again great, there is no question they can learn something from him, but.........they have all had their fair share of struggles this year. It isn't like he is a pitcher whisperer. If he wasn't here this year, I don't think anyone would be thinking any less of the White Sox young pitchers. Time to put Big Game James in the rearview mirror and move along.
-
Just say goodbye to him. For the love of God, he's terrible and won't be getting any younger this winter. If you couldn't get anything for him this season, you won't next. Use the spot to develop a youngster or take a chance on a reclamation project. Shields serves no White Sox purpose anymore.

Stone and Benetti hinted last night the reason he was throwing 93 was because Coop wanted him to work on command.
-
If this guy was caught in as many lies and attempts to deceive coming out of college applying for an entry level job, he would be denied. I guess it's different if you want to be on the Supreme Court.
-
Its robo calling. It's one way they mask their identity.
-
That is a good point. Perhaps a cowardly coup.

If I had to bet, and the clue was someone we all are pretty familiar, I'd go with Kellyanne. She was rumored to be a big leaker. She bashed Trump before she worked for him. Her husband's tweets don't exactly endorse him. And during the Trump phone call with Woodward, it's pretty apparent she blew off telling Trump Woody wanted to speak to him concerning the book. She has to be sick of trying to spin this ridiculousness daily.

I can't believe it was Pence directly, way too dangerous for someone who thinks God told him he would be President., but I can believe it was someone either he or his minions put up to the task. It would be far more entertaining if it came out it was Jared.

The popular opinion is his splitter is what is causing his elbow issues. Maybe he ditches it when he is able to pitch again. And now maybe we see why he jumped to the US even though he wouldn't get paid. He probably figured this was around the corner and would have suppressed his contract anyway.
