I once had someone tell me about an interview with Minnie Minoso on a pre game show back when he was a player. He was leading the league in HBP, and the interviewer asked if he thought it was racial, Minnie replied with he wasn't black, he was Cuban.

So it's OK for Eloy to do what is in his best financial interests, but not the White Sox? I don't know what a grievance would do. What exactly would be the line. Does one hot week in AAA mean a team would have to call you up? Does it matter what the current roster is doing? I think it's pretty obvious what the White Sox are doing. And it's what most teams in their situation would do. The teams that wouldn't, are the teams looking for some instant box office bang, and will trade a guy like Eloy the second he starts making any money.

Why would the White Sox trade a month of games where basically most of them will be of AAA quality, for an extra year of control? Who knows what the situation will be in 7 years, but so what, we know what it will be now, and it's not a big price to pay for what they will receive, even if it turns out to be nothing.

i agree completely, but ....... They are mediocre to bad, but all the advanced numbers make them out to be top 3 or 4 awful in the league. In the tanking era, you get several extra wins by just trying to win, and the East is pretty bad. I don't see how their chances of being a below average team, which is all you need to be to make the playoffs, instead of a horrible team, are 50 to 1 against.

The Cubs guarantee may have been slightly less, but they gave him a bunch of outs, so if he played up to the contract, it would have been worth a lot more.

ESPN's BPI gives the Bulls a 2% chance of making the playoffs. There has to be something i am missing here. I get they are not a 60 win team, but among the worst in the league is hard to believe.

It seems to me instead of getting the call correct, many times the replay guy just looks for one view that supports the call made instead of getting it right. There was no question Engel was safe, but one of the views made it look questionable. i think it would be far more effective if the reviewer had no idea what the call on the field was.

Also, after the Cohen and Manafort developments, a FOX NEWs poll showed support for the Russian investigation rising to 59 % from 48% . Finally, people may be starting to see this guy for what he is, although I wouldn't make that bet.
