Heyman: Eloy/Kopech may not be promoted this year
Dick Allen replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
So Moncada, Giolito, and Lopez would have been far less advanced this season had they spent another month in the minor leagues. Is it detrimental to all prospects when their season is over the first week of September? I have seen seen so many prospects called up in September over the years. Some excelled, some were horrible, but what I never really saw was that call up being the catalyst to a great career. It sounds nice and all for people who want to whine they didn’t see these guys, but there really are no examples of guys not playing September baseball for a non contender costing them valuable development . -
Yes, they are technically working for the re-election campaign.

Trump's military parade cost is up to $92 million. Only $80 million than previously thought. 'Merica. And Omarosa has a tape with Trump's daughter in law discussing salary if she joined the re-election campaign.

Ozzie mentioned his body language as well. Says it doesn't look like he enjoys himself playing. I still think he will be alright, and think some of the body language is because he's not used to having a hard time playing baseball. But it is worth noting, this guy got paid before he became a major leaguer. The motivation may not be as great, and it would only be natural.- 90 replies

makes you wonder if he was injured when he was drafted. This may turn out to be one of the most successful shoulder surgeries of all time.- 90 replies

He's on pace for 99 according to ESPN.com, Considering how long his cold spell was, he's been pretty amazing the rest of the season.- 90 replies

I think Dioner Navarro was the worst. He was unbelievably bad. I would watch on TV and see the pitch trax but would never be upset the umpire called it a ball. Omar is up there. Maybe he gets better. He didn't seem this bad last year. Even if his bat is for real, I don't see how a contending team can have him catch.- 90 replies

Kind of weird we haven't heard a peep about Wellington Castillo. If you look at the quotes after his suspension was announced, it didn't seem like the team was going to move on. Maybe because how Narvaez and Smith have been hitting, they just may give Beef some more time off. Edit, our Chuck had something about him. He's working out and will return.- 90 replies

Personality wise, Q and Sale seem to be on the opposite ends of the spectrum. One thing they have in common is they seemed very respected and admired by their teammates. As questionable some of the things Sale said and did may have been, you didn't hear anything bad about him when he was here or after he left. To be their best, some guys have to be Bjorn Borg, some guys have to be John McEnroe.

Which is interesting, because when he ever blew a lead, it was always the manager's fault. Now that he is on another team, he is a talented, hot headed, mental midget., good riddance. The guy is awesome. Get over it White Sox fans.
-
The one thing I can think of is it would have helped the Sox not make the playoffs in 2008, since John Danks wouldn't have been on the team. He's a good guy and all, but trading him turned out to be a wise move.
-
Anyone wants to rip Sale for loving the Drake or cutting up jerseys, that is fair game. But for pitching? C’mon man.
-
That is the thing that concerns me. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason when he is about to fall apart. It just happens. It isn’t because he is tired or anything like that. He just comes apart. He also gets back together again on occasion, but it just seems like at some point every game, with very few exceptions, he is going to look like an A ball pitcher.

The Sox have 51 starts by pitchers with ERAs over 6,00,and 11 by pitchers with ERAs below 4.40.

I do like the emotion Gio showed there. But when his command leaves him, he is meat.

JR doesn't own 100% of both franchises, and does have a background in Law and the IRS. I'm sure he has planned ahead. I doubt his heirs will have to sell to pay a tax bill.

The fact that the Sox had all these players signed to team friendly contracts and couldn't build a contender around them, speaks volumes about the architects. Not exactly a situation White Sox fans should have a lot of confidence. Eventually, pieces will have to be added that aren't minor leaguers. How has that turned out? Getting great prospects for these guys and drafting good players when you are in the top 10 isn't all that difficult. The difficult part is development, and acquiring the other pieces to get them over the top. I hope it all works out, but based on recent results, expecting it is foolish.

Anyone read about the GOP state senate candidate in FL who was busted with a fake diploma? First she said she didn't want to comment on "fake news". Miami of OH did say they had no record of her graduating and the diploma she was showing off didn't appear legit. So she finally came clean, and said it wasn't her intent to mislead anyone.

We will see. If they are in contention and Cease is dealing, and they need a starter, I would imagine he gets the call. If they are 40-75, that's a bit different. I agree with Keith Law, the extra year is not that big of deal for pitchers, although it does get to the point where it doesn't make sense to call them up. I really don't know of what big benefit they gain playing meaningless September games against a bunch of call ups anyway.
-
If they are trying to win, it makes a lot of sense to have your best players on the roster. That's not the case right now.

Well Dylan, we’ll always have late May/early June. -
He only hires the best. Who knew Omarosa was scum? I wouldn’t pay a dime for that book, but I bet at least some of it is true.

That is probably how it will go, but they both should be gone IMO. No reason Urban had that guy on his staff so long. It’s not like he was a coordinator. If OSU was 7-6 last year Urban would have zero chance. I don’t see where winning game should make a difference here. I am pretty sure the next guy they hire is going to win a lot of games too.
