  1. Believe me. “Our framework includes our explicit commitment that tax reform will protect low-income and middle-income households,” Trump said. “Not the wealthy and well-connected. They can call me all they want; I’m doing the right thing.” He then added: “And it’s not good for me, believe me.” I'm thinking Maury would say, "That was a lie." The people who worked on the tax plan are getting the biggest benefit. Go figure.
  2. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 2, 2017 -> 01:16 PM) He helped contribute to the tank. Godspeed Pelf...godspeed. He was pretty versatile. He was equally as bad starting or relieving.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 2, 2017 -> 09:20 AM) She will be given a job on CNN for her unique perspective into a presidential administration. I am hoping America will wise up and anyone complicit with the administration will be given the opportunities they deserve, which would be working at KFC. But with Spicey as an example, you have to figure that isn't going to happen.
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 2, 2017 -> 08:26 AM) I think everyone here, Reddy and myself included, is condemning adults preying on 14 year olds. And if that is how you want to characterize Spacey,s behavior in this instance, as "preying," I am down with that. I think the point I am trying to make (and I think Reddy is with me), is that this type of behavior, when allowed to go unchecked, because of wealth, iinfluence, etc, tends to occur more often than in areas of society where those factors are absent. In my view, that isn't because these people tend to be any more "deviant" than the rest of us, but perhaps simply as a result of that behavior being more exempt from normal social and legal norms. There is no doubt it happens everywhere and it is wrong. It isn't something new, but it does appear that it being wrong is now more of a popular opinion. Anita Hill didn't get nearly the sympathy these other get and deserve. People have always known and joked about the "casting couch". I'm glad these people have been inspired and strengthened to come forward with these deeds. Expose these pricks. Hollywood is getting most of it, but it goes on everywhere else. A guy who bragged about it got elected POTUS. Kevin Spacey won't be able to play fake POTUS anymore, but the real one does the same sort of things. I hope this will spur change, but I can't help but wonder if this won't be something that will just fade away.
  5. Spacey is a sick dude. This guy was 14, and if you google him, you will see photos of him as a 15 year old, there is no way he could be mistaken for someone of age. Kids do seem to skip growing up when they get in that business, but it's no excuse. What if he couldn't say no, couldn't get away? I don't know why a 14 year old would go to a party in Spacey's apartment alone. I don't know why he would even be invited. But whatever it was, it's just wrong. There are a lot more skeletons in Spacey's closet, but at least from what we know as of now, they at least were with adults. Who knows, another 14 year old might not have got away without Spacey getting what he apparently wanted.
  6. What are you doing Wegner behind the plate.
  7. Lies, lies,lies,lies....from CNN (Fake News) White Ho Press secretary Sarah Sanders said President Trump didn't call the US justice system a joke earlier today at his cabinet meeting. "He said the process has people calling us a joke and calling us a laughing stock," Sanders said. "Simply pointing out his frustration of how long that this process takes, how costly this process is. And particularly for someone to be a known terrorist, that process should move faster. That's the frustration he has." Here are President Trump's exact remarks: "That was a horrible event, and we have to stop it, and we have to stop it cold. We also have to come up with punishment that's far quicker and far greater than the punishment these animals are getting right now. They'll go through court for years. And at the end, they'll be -- who knows what happens." "We need quick justice and we need strong justice -- much quicker and much stronger than we have right now. Because what we have right now is a joke and it's a laughingstock. And no wonder so much of this stuff takes place. And I think I can speak for plenty of other countries, too, that are in the same situation."
  8. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 1, 2017 -> 11:15 AM) The White Sox already turned down Kyle Schwarber. Doesn't really fit the the timeline. And they don't really have anything to acquire him that the Cubs would want anymore. The White Sox have plenty of guys the Cubs would want. The problem is the guys the Cubs would want aren't the guys the Sox would trade.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 1, 2017 -> 11:02 AM) Keith Pompey‏Verified account @PompeyOnSixers 17m17 minutes ago Jahlil Okafor confirms he asked for buyout. The freakiest thing about Okafor is he is still just 21 years old.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 1, 2017 -> 10:51 AM) Its super shocking that the president shows a total lack of leadership. Especially considering his greatness. No president, probably in any industry, as accomplished more in such a short period of time as Trump. He really is terrific.
  11. QUOTE (Dunt @ Nov 1, 2017 -> 10:58 AM) That's a pretty interesting takeaway, I've long thought they want him to be a White Sox lifer. That is quite the contrary. I'm sure they would, but at their price. How many times on this board have we read Abreu is cooked? When his control expires and he's a couple of years older, do you want to pay him even more for another 4,5 or 6 years? Who really knows? Plus, you could pull a Chapman and bring him back when you are truly ready to win, maybe with the guy(s) you get for him a big part of the team as well.
  12. He has always said everyone is available if the price is right, but he specifically questioned whether the timing with Abreu and Avi and their contracts fit the White Sox schedule. In the meeting I was at he talked about diminished returns in 1B/DH types Abreu's age and specifically mentioned that leadership is big, but it doesn't trump production. He made it seem an extension would have to be really team friendly. With Avi, he questioned whether selling him off now wasn't the most prudent. He either stays a really good player which would make him expensive and a risk to sign elsewhere, or he goes back to being what he was and it would be an opportunity lost. The thing is, trading these guys doesn't mean you can't bring them back when they become free agents if you want. You just miss their production when you really aren't playing to win. And it opens up opportunities for younger players.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 1, 2017 -> 08:59 AM) There's a reason I asked what you actually heard, it's still unclear. It is very shocking to me that it would be an open secret that Spacey was predatory toward children. And look at Rapp in 86...he was not a "younger guy" he was a kid. And I just doubt if he did that it was an isolated incident. People shrugging shoulders at stuff like that is how situations like Penn St. happen. I mean seriously what would people's reaction be if at a party they went upstairs and caught a family friend on top of a 14 year old boy at midnight after the friend had been drinking. It would be taken seriously I'm sure. If it were isolated, Spacey would have just denied it. He knows there are more out there. I tend to believe Jeremy Piven did what his accuser said, but he probably doesn't have the other skeletons in the closet so he can get away with a denial.
  14. Terrorist attack in NYC is Chuck Schumer's fault. Trump's boys are too busy following 10 year old undocumented immigrants with cerebral palsy who need their gallbladders removed around a hospital so they can send her back to where she belongs once she has recovered enough. Biggest mass shooting in US history, and another terrorist attack under Trump's watch. He needs to take some credit.
  15. Trump, who lies more than anyone, also accuses others of lying more than anyone. I hope his shtick catches up to him.
  16. Trump is melting like the Wicked Witch of the West. Love the tweet with the low level volunteer coffee boy at the table with Trump and Sessions.
  17. Freeman suspended 10 games for PEDs. I must say Hampton nailed that one. He said anyone tears a pec, they are using steroids.
  18. Fox News already trying to discredit Manafort's judge. Black woman donated to Bill Clinton. Son was arrested for heroin dealing. Alrighty then. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/10/30/paul-...h-robinson.html
  19. A New Gingrich tweet from last year: “Nobody should underestimate how much Paul Manafort did to really help get this campaign to where it is right now.”
  20. Fox News is getting nervous. Now they are just flat out lying: Rosen claimed indictment charges were "all focused on the period 2006 to 2015," but the indictment states "2006 through at least 2016" From the October 30 edition of Fox News' America's Newsroom: Loading the player reg... 21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 30, 2017 -> 12:50 PM) via Fun with alternative facts. The Trump bubble people will buy every word.
  22. I could see neck fatigue after watching so many rockets go past him. But arm fatigue? He missed a lot of time. He sucks so bad.
  23. No one is bringing up when Trump looked into the camera and told Russia to hack Hillary's emails. What a great place to hide, right in the open. “I will tell you this, Russia: If you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” the Republican nominee said at a news conference in Florida. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”
  24. I wonder how many of the people at the RNC who were chanting lock her up when Christy was going through his BS, will actually wind up locked up themselves.
