QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 12, 2017 -> 02:54 PM) Contrast this with years of conservative rage targeted at Michelle Obama's healthy lunch and youth exercise programs, and also against our own President who had a "bring me a coke" button installed in the Oval Office and believes exercise is harmful. If it were a movie, you wouldn't buy any of this stuff. But it's all true.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 12, 2017 -> 02:07 PM) In my list of words to describe Trump, I listed mostly all negative ones. Sure he's a creep I just didn't think "human garbage" at this time was necessary or accurate. He said himself he grabs women by the p****. Does it have to be your wife, mother, daughter, relative or friend that he grabs to get you to say he's garbage? Why wouldn't it be any woman?
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 12, 2017 -> 02:00 PM) Wow. Human garbage. You said it. But is it possibly true? I say in no way shape or form could our president be truly "human garbage." yet you said it's "literally" fact. How can I take your posts seriously if you truly believe that. By saying 'literally' you are telling me you think Donald Trump is human garbage. I would vehemently disagree. I guess I could change my mind if the impeachable offense he ultimately commits is sickening enough, but as of right now, no way is he human garbage. Just consider yourself lucky it wasn't your family business that did business with Trump, didn't get paid and had to go out of business, only to have the guy who stiffed you, and you can look it up, there are thousands of these people, boast about how rich he is. I'm surprised you didn't attend Trump U. Think of what you could have learned. Handpicked educators by Trump even though he had never met them or knew who they were. He was a guy in his 60s bragging about grabbing women by the p****.

The Kardashians are filthy rich. I bet they are very smart. Donald Trump as POTUS is IMO a gift from reality television. I know a few people who voted for him just because they liked the Apprentice.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 12, 2017 -> 01:24 PM) So is he smart or not? I think it's obvious the man is intelligent. Of course he's a con artist as well. He's a ruthless businessman, does not care at all about the little guy. No offense to 1 percenters, but I would suggest most are bad people. I'd agree he's a conman. He's also a jerk and a ruthless individual. Still say that all comes from unabashed ego. If he's such a bad bet why is he still rich beyond belief? Yeah I think he's knowledgeable. Destroyed in the debates? Are you serious? The man defeated Hillary who was horrid in the debates. I can't believe you think he's 'dumb.' He's a lot of things but he's very smart. I challenge you Trump haters to come up with a list of things to describe him. I bet they'd be all negative. I would call him ... Ruthless, narcissistic, ego-filled, selfish, shielded, name dropper, paranoid, unable to relate to the common person; but also hard-working, smart, patriotic, driven. I'm afraid he's also impulsive which could be bad for the country. He's rich because, A. he was born into it, and B. he has people like you convinced he is a smart businessman who has everything he touches turn into gold. The coalminers are going to get their jobs back. Taxes are going to be almost zero. Everyone will have a great paying job. Health insurance will be almost free and everyone will have access to any doctor they choose. We just have to get rid of the Mexicans and all the other "foreigners". His team has already said he was full of s***. Donald the president can't be held to what he promised as Donald the candidate. 2 different things. Keep listening to Rush and keep buying what he is selling. Rush wants his tax cuts and wants to get rid of brown people. Trump's his guy. Hard working? Hardly.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 12, 2017 -> 01:04 PM) Trump didn't think firing Flynn was an emergency. I guess having a potentially compromised foreign asset as your National Security Advisor isn't an emergency? Even after he fired Flynn, he said Flynn did nothing wrong.

He could be awesome from here on out, or he could revert to his old self in a day or two. I don't think anyone will give you anything that would be consistent with the return of a guy who is awesome, so I would probably hang on. A really good prospect, trade him quickly, but I doubt that is likely.

Everything Trump is doing to make it go away, is making him look worse. He really is not a bright man.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 12, 2017 -> 09:43 AM) "Loans aren't income!" is definitely the semantic defense they'll try to pull once more info comes out. In Trump's world they are. He never counts the debt when he tells us what he is worth.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 11, 2017 -> 03:24 PM) So apparently the Trump family has begun transferring money offshore... I'm surprised he's not using the money saved by not paying taxes for decades on a coal mine. He could buy one and hire hundreds of coal miners. Good, high paying jobs. Trump makes a ton of money. Win, win. But for some reason, it never seems to work out that way.

QUOTE (bmags @ May 11, 2017 -> 12:35 PM) I'm just so mad at how obvious it was at how stupid this man would be at this job and yet even now how many should-be smarter and more responsible people are going to go along with it. If it wasn't for the damage he is going to do to people and the country, that would be the most frustrating thing about this. The Russians brought a camera crew to their meeting. They took pictures. Liars.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 11, 2017 -> 12:29 PM) You mean all those Iphone users? And Steve, if you really want to make inroads and see if Democrats can be more successful, it may be wise to drop the whole "racist" thing. Insulting people rarely gets them to change their mind. In the next election cycle I hope people focus on things like: Healthcare, inability to lead, lack of funding for places like NC, self dealing, etc. There is plenty of ways to convince someone Trump is going to sink the ship. Trump is about Trump. How many times do we have to see Melania on the White House website, Ivanka hawking products, Kushners using Trump for cash, then they go back and honest mistake, we will remove. The cat was out of the bag. It's like telling a jury to disregard someone giving some very incriminating testimony. They know exactly what they are doing there, even though they don't seem to know too much about the things Trump was actually elected to handle.

Trump is now boasting that in a short period of time, he has learned everything about health care. Thank God for Donald Trump.

QUOTE (Tony @ May 11, 2017 -> 08:51 AM) @Acosta: WH furious over Russian government photos of Trump meeting with Lavrov/Kislyak. "They tricked us," an official said of Russians "They lie." https://twitter.com/acosta/status/862641882983215105 Oops! They brought cameras into the room. Then they started snapping pictures. Who knew?

QUOTE (brett05 @ May 11, 2017 -> 06:56 AM) Tons of money was made by all fiscal classes of Americans during the Reagan years. If the Reagan years were bliss, what does that say about the Clinton and Obama years? Obama outperformed him, Clinton more than doubled him. You go back over 35 years, the market performs a lot better under democrats. Trump likes to brag about what he is doing vs. Obama. For him to do what Obama did, the Dow is going to have to hit 50,000 under his watch. His failing presidency will never get there. He will be worse than the guy he called the worst president of all time, and an evil and bad guy. Sad.
-
Everyone can spin it anyway they like, the bottom line is the results have to get better or this guy is a bust. It is always easy to blame messing with mechanics and it takes a while to get back to the old way, but remember the old way got him a TJ surgery at a young age. This stuff is still fluff until he starts pitching better.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 10, 2017 -> 03:49 PM) Fair enough all around but according to the report from our own Soxtalk scouting crew Delmonico does have a chance to stick at 3B. How many games have they seen him play?

QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ May 10, 2017 -> 02:28 PM) Greg, the point Balta is making is that the Republicans and the Democrats have very different policies, particularly on healthcare. If you want the government to mandate that insurance companies cover more and not less (preexisting conditions, no lifetime out of pocket max), then the Democrats are more likely to pass, or maintain, legislation that does that. If you ultimately want universal healthcare, the Democrats are the party that is the closest to that. By voting for Republican candidates, or not voting for either, you are making it more likely that the Republicans will be the party in power. The Republicans have made their stance on healthcare (and taxes for the wealthy) abundantly clear. They think that cutting taxes to the wealthy will create more jobs. They think that government should be out of healthcare entirely. Based on your comments in this thread, you are against both of those policies! But the election was more about personality for you than it was about policy. That is your right as an American! You are right! But when you complain about the policies that the Republicans are pushing (and the policies that have already failed in Kansas) while at the same time attacking Hillary Clinton and parroting Rush Limbaugh - well those things just don't line up. What I never understood about trickle down economics and putting more money in the rich's hands is if they are just going to pass this money along to the middle and lower classes, first, why not just give the cut to those classes? If that doesn't work, why would they suddenly start spending more money? They have a lot to spend on workers now that they aren't using. Giving them more isn't the answer. It boggles my mind how non rich people could be republicans. Unless it's a real moderate guy like Kasich, there really is nothing in it for you. The only trickle down the Trump Corp. ever did was trickle down bankruptcy. Don't pay the workers, take your money out, declare bankruptcy and make the little guy do the same. Then talk about how rich you are and what a genius businessman you are.

QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ May 10, 2017 -> 02:11 PM) We need home runs for? We don't. The Sox just need to release Frazier because Delmonico needs to come up right now. It is imperative they see what he can do before he is ready.
-
Frazier had an abbreviated spring training, and keeps on getting nicked up during the season, which is unusual for him. I think once he gets going again, he did have a brief hot streak earlier, he'll be fine. I really don't know what the rush is with Delmonico.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 10, 2017 -> 12:37 PM) Not gonna lie, I always forget he exists. So do I. But you would think a beat guy would ask about him. They asked about everyone else. In a couple of weeks, most will be over the Willy Garcia Experience, Leury isn't an every day CF, Tilson might be interesting to look at, but from the lack of news, he must hanging with Brett Lawrie.
-
Do the reporters even ask Hahn about Tilson, or have they also forgotten he is a White Sox?
