QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ May 31, 2017 -> 01:11 AM) Just imagine the uproar if a conservative would have done this with Obama's head. I saw a tweet that is true for this as well. If Kathy Griffiin wants to shock people she should try to actually be funny. Oh, like these? http://www.wthr.com/article/boone-county-r...g-obama-display https://thinkprogress.org/2-fans-dressed-up...tay-895625d224d What she did was disgusting. But it is funny how the right still thinks it treated Obama with the utmost respect, and is oblivious to all the BS they did.

May 30th Game Thread: ChiSox vs. BoSox

Need a few more baserunners, hopefully for a shot to win but at the very least get Davidson a shot at a golden Sombrero. Edit he already has it. A 5 k night would be legendary -

Jennings has been awful. I think warming up every game and pitch g in a lot of them may have caught up to him. -

Everyone has hit the ball pretty well this inning. Rare against Sale. -

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 30, 2017 -> 08:46 PM) He certainly overmatched by Sale but guess he has never seen him before Melky and Avi the only guys who had ever faced Sale in a real game until tonight -

Q's problem is for some reason he isn't trusting his stuff. Nibble, nibble, nibble. Tries to be too fine, is forced to lay it right in there and there it hoes. Again. He will figure it out. Soon I hope. -
Kendall to me is left handed for Jared Mitchell. Star potential, and can do everything except make a lot of contact. I don't know how that gets better facing better pitchers. I wouldnttake him at 11.

Kathy Griffin went off the deep end today. A bit too far IMO.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 30, 2017 -> 05:16 PM) I'd be surprised if Cleveland won more than one game in this series. Unless Durant or Curry get hurt, I agree.

This Tiger stuff is sad. He was hopped up on painkillers so either his back which he said felt great, doesn't. Or he has a problem with the pills. He has done some bad stuff, but haven't we all? I just wish him the best. The twitter people who get a kick out of this are pretty disgusting. I hope it was just some innocent mix up, but I have a feeling it is a little worse than that.

QUOTE (raBBit @ May 30, 2017 -> 05:18 PM) "Read a f***ing book." That's good stuff. DA called and he wants his misquoted talking points back. LMAO. You posted that about Biden's family, then complained about TMZ type stories about the Trump team. That is just fact. It is hard to believe you can't see it.

QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ May 30, 2017 -> 02:21 PM) I suppose now would be a good time to ask Ron if he knows how many players in White Sox history have better stats than Jose Abreu through their first 2000 PA with the club, and who those guys are, and if he thinks they are awful players That is, it would be a good time to ask that if I knew this guy wasn't just trolling all of us I mean who the hell really questions the offensive prowess of a .299/.359/.515/.874 career hitter Don't jump to conclusions that he's been a good hitter. Everything points to the league has figured him out and he is DFA-worthy, which has to be the only conclusion if you take everything into account. Just because.

Who really knows what the exact impact of Renteria has been. If he makes all the difference in the world, I would question what the hell he was doing last year, and from all accounts, he was doing most of the stuff he was doing this year except getting final say on running a game. Guys have improved. Of course, many couldn't get much worse. Hopefully it holds up. One thing is expectations were zero, and they have played decently. Still not .500, but there probably is at least a little less pressure, at least for the young guys. They aren't expected to win, they know if they have a bad game or 2 they will still get a chance. It seems the guys who were struggling were vets who are playing for a contract, or a guy like Anderson who is probably trying to justify his every game.

I am not sold long term on any, but Sanchez is probably the one I would say has the best shot of staying near their current level. Leury has hit HR at a ridiculous pace for him. Davidson has a lot of homers. I just can't see Leury keeping up power-wise and his average is coming down. He could be a decent utility guy with his speed and ability to play a ton of positions. Davidson fans way too much. He to me is the 2011 Brent Lillibridge. You look at their offensive stats, Lillibridge for 2011 and Davidson for his career, they are almost identical. The massive amount of whiffs eventually catch up to you IMO. Sanchez probably isn't a .300 hitter or a .750 OPS guy, but he has a lot lower of a fall from current production to be believable moving forward. At least we are discussing guys seemingly playing over their heads than the under of the previous several seasons. Hopefully they all keep it up, but that doesn't seem realistic.

QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ May 28, 2017 -> 07:24 PM) If the weather holds up and Sale v. Quintana holds up, Mon/Tues walk up will be pretty strong. They might have a decent walk up, but walk ups aren't all that large anymore, and I really wonder what kind of draw Sale is. Most of the time when they had th k zone $20 lower deck tickets and a free shirt when Sale pitched $15 on Sundays, it was nowhere near sold out, and that was just a few sections. It appears the Sox draw well on Saturdays and Sundays and seem to be in the teens during the week.
-
There won't be a huge crowd tomorrow. A lot of tickets available. Most of the top 15 rows in the upper deck are unsold, there are about 4 or 5 sections down each line virtually unsold. Tuesday is even more available. Their average may go down.

QUOTE (oldsox @ May 28, 2017 -> 05:00 PM) They wanted to get the Save for Robertson. If they bring him in too early, no Save. Plus he wanted to give some quality work for Beck. If he is going to bring him in at the first sign of trouble, even if it wasn't Beck's own doing, just have him come in. There is zero reason David Robertson should be warming up unless you are going to use him. A lot of pitchers aren't in that category but most closers are. He should be more concerned with White Sox victory totals vs. David Robertson saves. If you are going to warm him up before the 9th started, put him in the game.

469 career PA for Schwarzenegger and a .216 career hitter. .144 with a .519 OPS vs. Lefties in hi career. Yet he is going to be a star. How come White Sox players don't get to fail as much before being labeled? Schwarzenegger may be a great hitter some day, but right now he pretty much blows, but Theo drafted him so he is BAbe Ruth.

QUOTE (harkness @ May 27, 2017 -> 08:48 PM) Frazier pinch hit when we needed contact was pretty bad move. .. He was 3-10 with a homer vs. the pitcher.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 27, 2017 -> 11:44 AM) Of course you do. You can't get enough of them. And when did Eaton ever need to get better? He was a hit from the start. The only thing I didn't like about him was he clowned a bit much for my tastes. Yea, I suggested trading him, but not because he was a bad player. You have to give something to get something - that's one of my revolutionary ideas. I never fawned over Davidson. I fawned over the trade and what I what I thought was a good start to a rebuilding process. I'm no scout. I don't know if these prospects are good or bad; I just go by the rankings, and if you trade a replaceable reliever for a top prospect, that's a good thing. And I think most would agree. Eaton wasn't as good as his numbers was the line you constantly used.
