I don't think this was a big deal at all. It's their graduation. If they don't want to listen to Mike Pence speak, and considering ND is in Indiana, they have heard him speak a lot more than most, and/or are protesting his views, walking away silently is actually pretty polite. Many parents left as well.

If this guy was guaranteed to be Mike Trout, I wonder how high teams would be able to go with him considering the penalty.

The more success he has, the more confident he gets, and he probably starts laying off more pitches, thinking he is good enough to take a strike or two. Maybe he falls apart. We have seen it before. I hope he makes it. He works hard, he plays hard. He didn't deserve the hatred thrown his way in the past. Most guys suck. It is a hard game. You look at JD Martinez. His walk rate his k rate didn't change much after he went to Detroit, but in Houston his numbers were a lot like Avi's, and they suddenly changed with more hits and power. maybe the same thing.

When you start to see the new stories and the truth, you start to realize just how much BS is out there, and even insiders get fed a lot of it. The way Hahn mentioned his some playing a 2018 season with Robert and how he also admitted interest which when have they ever admitted they were going to bid on a guy that would penalize them? I am starting to think he knew he had this guy locked up all along.

It looked like Avi was starting to get back to the Avi we have known a couple of weeks ago, but he has picked it up again. At what point is this real? Or is it still the mirage it has been in the past? 40 games and he has numbers Frank Thomas in his prime would be thrilled with. Fangraphs has stopped their bashing, nowhave gone radio silent about him. Could Hawk have been right? he really has been incredible this year. I was at the game early Saturday and when Gene Honda was going through the line up, Avi received the loudest applause. Not bad for a guy who the team obviously held out of Soxfest because he was booed there a year earlier.

I hope we get answers today, but I am sure wherever he signs, he is going to have to take a physical first, and that can cause a delay especially here since it has been raining all day.
