  1. QUOTE (captain54 @ Jul 28, 2016 -> 11:47 AM) My non confrontational, non argumentative response to that would be.. How do we know various trucks haven't been backed up already? See, I think this organization is determined to do it THEIR way… which is, stick to the road most frequently traveled… That is, as long as Kenny Williams has JR's ear.. Of course they are going to do it their way. Do you do everything everyone else's way? The problem is, there is no way the White Sox can win with most unless they come up with all these prospects people think teams are more than willing to give up to get him. If they trade him for less, they screwed up. If they don't trade him, it will be these guys were clearly available and they blew it. There has already been talk they waited too long and blew it.
  2. I couldn't imagine what 103 from a pitcher must look like. In HS I turned a pitching machine up to 100 to see what that looked like. Missed the first 3 badly, tipped the fourth, and hit the fifth, but it snapped the aluminum bat I was swinging in half. Off a pitcher, it has to look even quicker.
  3. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 09:57 PM) Sudden Sam McDowell once broke his ribs from throwing too hard. Just sayin'. Frankie Montas did it twice.
  4. I guess the Cubs fans that were outraged they traded for a wife beater are over it once they see triple digits on the gun.
  5. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 09:46 PM) No one is saying that. Good God you're awful with your trolling. He is only getting worse. You are the one that can't stand if they win and can't stand if they lose.
  6. They should just release Fulmer. He obviously is just going to get worse.
  7. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 09:39 PM) I hope we come back, but time to go watch Obama at the convention after Robin gifted this game to the Cubs. Yep, anytime you score 1 rub on a homer by your pitcher, you really have to blame the game on the manager because you know the bullpen even though they aren't doing the job, would have if they came in one hitter sooner.
  8. I really think Turner could be a decent reliever.
  9. I was expecting a walkathon but Ranaudo was good. Too bad he also was the entire offense.
  10. Nice job for Ranaudo. Kept the pitches at a minimum that inning.
  11. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 07:35 PM) Who would've thought a Sox/Cubs gamethread would be so dead? 4 game Sox winning streak. if the Cubs get a lead, it will pick up.
  12. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 07:27 PM) Is Fulmer still up with the team? I am afraid Renaudo will walk himself right into a loss. Hope he can settle down. But he has gotten a popup and a dribbler I have a feeling you will be seeing Carson tonight.
  13. I don't care if he hits it on to Sheffield throw a f***ing strike.
  14. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 07:21 PM) Sad all Sox have is this guy to start. They are not unique.
  15. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) Maybe it's 15 day then, not sure. There is SOME rule against trading injured guys, though. I'm guessing it's 60 since they don't have to be on the 40 man roster. You probably have to reinstate them to trade them and then they can go back on the 60 or 15.
  16. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 11:58 AM) Boston would develop new replacements quickly; that's one reason why they are so willing to trade. They're not great on the pitching side, though. Easy to say, harder to do. They probably won't be drafting top 10 for a while. Internationally they have been penalized both for cheating and overspending.
  17. QUOTE (QuickJones81 @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 08:38 AM) Chapman is a much more dominant pitcher though Robertson is pretty good. I think he would be even better on a team that is consistent. With the Sox, he goes a while without pitching, then his opportunities come in bunches. The 3 homers in an inning was bad, but it was his 3rd appearance in 15 hours and he was really good the first 2, also really good last night.
  18. If he isn't sharp, I'm guess Fulmer will take the mound tonight.
  19. QUOTE (oneofthemikes @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 09:44 PM) BBTN just had a segment about Sale and what it would take to get him. Boston - Said Bogaerts and Betts are totally off limits and that Moncada, Benentendi, Kopech, and Swihart was too much. Said Moncada, Kopech, Swihart, and Eduardo Rodriguez was a fair return for the White Sox. Rangers - Said Mazara, Gallo, Profar, and Dillon Tate was too much and that Mazara, Profar OR Gallo, Luis Ortiz, and Dillon Tate was a fair return. I don't think I'm good with either of the "fair" packages. Especially with some of the trades that have already happened in the past couple weeks. Three and a half years of a top 5 pitcher in baseball on an extremely team friendly deal is going to have to be an unprecedented package of talent in return and I'm not seeing that in the afore mentioned proposals. Right. There is no reason to trade Sale or Q for a fair package. You want them, pay up big time. With WSD, I heard Dan Hayes say a couple of times there was no way Boston was getting Sale without giving up Betts.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 01:43 PM) They obviously tried Sale's method of keeping it quiet and in the clubhouse before now, because the only thing we knew about was the LaRoche blow up. They seem to be trying something different now with the suspension. I think the 4 are known. There was an argument with Robin about being yanked a couple of years ago. Another one with Robin with the Victor Martinez stuff. The spring training KW tirade, and this one.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 01:42 PM) Every one of your goddamned posts is this "I told you so" bulls***. You have a lot of knowledge, and you're a smart guy...how about you post something original instead of always trying to make others look stupid? I'm just pointing out people talk out of both sides of their mouth, and if it can somehow be blamed on Robin, eventually it will. A grown man took a knife to a bunch of uniforms because he didn't want to wear them pitching a game where he's paid millions of dollars to pitch. Sorry, and don't get me wrong, I like Sale and hope the Sox don't use this as an excuse to trade him, but this is all on Sale and no one else. As to when this happened. It happened during BP. You would think someone would have been in the clubhouse, but as someone said, what are you going to do if you saw Sale taking a knife to a bunch of uniforms? I would either watch in disbelief, or get away from the crime scene as quickly as possible. I am not really sure. It is really a bizarre action.
  22. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 01:24 PM) OR you could be a decent boss and listen to arguably your best and most valuable employee's grievances and make plans to avoid a conflict. There are 4 other people who could've and likely should've been on the mound pitching that day. Considering it was only about a week after the AS break, it would've been really easy to accomplish. Wouldn't that be letting a player walk all over you? What would be interesting is to see how the uniform fit Sale. They were ridiculous last year. If they were the same, and he being about as skinny as they come, I could see where it could be a problem. But altering a rotation because of uniform selection isn't going to score you points with the rest of the team.
