  1. Cubs are 4-6 their last 10 yet gained ground on STL and Pit.
  2. His OBP isn't down that much. He will hit better.21 long balls is nice.
  3. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 26, 2016 -> 10:30 AM) I fear we start Sale, he pitches a couple innings, and then, boom, 2 hour rain delay. I was watching the news, it doesn't look like any prolonged storms, just pop up quick ones.
  4. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 26, 2016 -> 08:11 AM) First ever GameDay thread created! Let's win this boys. If they hit 7 homers today, I think they will win.
  5. Hub Arkush who probably pukes anytime he gives the Bears a compliment, says they have gone from the worst inside LBs in the league to the best.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 25, 2016 -> 05:18 PM) I kind of think having Jeff Banister, Ian Desmond and Duensing would trump your Ubaldo Jimenez, Jennings, Gordon Beckham, future HoF Robin Ventura and John Danks. Actually the first poster to call for Ian Desmond was me. Look it up. You came in later and wanted the sox to sign him in June. He wouldn't have been available,
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 25, 2016 -> 05:04 PM) Nicely done, now you're on Cooper's side, lol. Fine, Jennings has been pretty good, but he still doesn't 100% have Ventura's trust in games when the Sox are leading or in the 7th/8th innings unless he's already had to use Duke and then game conditions force him to also use Jennings. And the splits don't dictate pitching Jennings as a loogy. I'm done picking on Ventura. There's no point. Joe McCarthy or Miller Huggins couldn't win the AL Central with this current roster. Dan Jennings, the guy you wanted replaced with Brian Duensing, has a 1.45 ERA his last 56 innings.
  8. On the bright side Beck looked good. It is laughable some here are blaming Ventura. People were calling for Ynoa yesterday. He was the only reliever to allow runs today. Coop has done a hell of a job with his rotation.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 25, 2016 -> 04:34 PM) You're not going to be able to compete with a 5th starter with a 5.17 ERA, Shields as your 4th and quicksand in front of Duke/Jones/Robertson. Not unless you immediately replace Garcia and Shuck with 800+ OPS hitters. Tell me what Dan Jennings has done his last 50 appearances that would make him quicksand?
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 25, 2016 -> 11:03 AM) Morneau's not going to win a Comeback Player of the Year award with only 2 to 2 1/2 months of at-bats. Damn.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 10:31 PM) What is it with these almost 4 hour games? Encarnacion career-wise was at .331 with 9 slammies before that K with bases loaded. The anti-Tyler Flowers. Condolences on the White Sox victory.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 08:07 PM) The Rangers desperately need another starter with Colby Lewis going down for a month with an oblique strain. We could probably give them James Shields for free. Or extra something useful for Gonzalez. That would allow us to run Ranaudo out there. After they listened to you and did that, after one start you would be wondering why they were so dumb to think Ranaudo is a viable starting pitcher in the AL.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 08:06 PM) Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan. Just seems once he swings and misses in an at bat, it's a lock he will swing and miss again in that at bat Experience will make that better. But I think he will always have a pretty high k rate.
  14. Junior Lake looks good in a uniform but that's about as far as the good goes.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 08:02 PM) Anderson swings and misses an insane amount Raw, a rookie. What do you expect?
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 07:44 PM) Royals being murdered by the Astros, 9-0 (Volquez vs. Keuchel) and only in the 1st inning. If the Jays and Twins don't end this, the Astros likely will next weekend. With the Indians' best (Salazar) destroying the Tigers' best (Zimmermann) with a 7-0 lead, the Indians being by far the best team in the division is no longer in doubt. LMAO
  17. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 01:33 PM) Has over 3 years left in his deal. What else would he say? Athletes say this s*** a lot. He could say he wants to be traded. He doesn't subscribe to the politically correct crowd, so he will say what he means.
  18. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 01:18 PM) Wizards are prepared to give Noah a max deal of 4 years/120 million. Wow, that is gross. Makes the Robin Lopez deal look like a complete steal if Noah gets this. That is truly incredible.
  19. This draft was pretty weak. Trading Taj for a low first rounder doesn't accomplish much. You get a guy who probably isn't going to be very good on a guaranteed contract. I'm sure if there was someone they really liked they knew would be available then, trade him. But if not, you are better off holding him. With a cap, getting nothing is much better than getting something not so good.
  20. QUOTE (Lillian @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 12:48 PM) I'm not going to dispute that, but I wonder on what you base your assertion. It was my understanding that the Brewers are very desirous of moving Braun's salary. How can they expect to accomplish that, and still get a couple of top prospects? Lucroy is their one chip for good prospects. I don't think they would substitute eating all of Braun's money for taking good prospects, especially since Braun is having a good year.
  21. Sale wants to be a White Sox forever. http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/red_sox...ieves_white_sox
  22. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 10:39 AM) This is the issue with all of these NL hitters that come to the Sox. For some reason they see Comiskey and think it's easy to hit it out so they alter their swing. They do hit HRs but it messes everything else up. I disagree. I just think it's luck or age, or just trying to do too much. Frazier and Dunn played in Cincinnati, a very similar launching pad to USCF.
  23. QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 08:20 AM) Nobody says 5+ because he walked 2 people in the next inning and got the hook. SMH Pull up James Shields's stats...or any pitcher for that matter. Please point out the "+" innings column where he threw pitches and didn't record any outs. If you made a bet based on he wouldn't go more than 5 innings, I would agree with you and said you are correct. However, 5 + innings is pitching the next inning and not getting anyone out.
  24. QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 07:29 AM) NOBODY would say he went 5+ when he didn't record an out!!! Clearly you don't have the first clue how baseball works. There is not one person who understands how to score a game that would agree with you. You want to talk about being wrong in posts - you are wearing the crown right now. The very definition of 5 + in baseball is that he went 5 innings and faced batters in the next inning without recording an out.
