4/14 Game thread: Minnesota, 12:10pm, CSN/WLS

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 02:45 PM) I wonder if Atlanta would be open to a Navarro for Flowers trade if we kicked a prospect in as well. Make it a bigger deal. AJP and Flowers, and Beckham for Navarro, Avila, and either Lawrie or Frasor. -

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 02:27 PM) I'm with you, I hate designated inning roles for relievers. Use your best relievers at the most critical moments. I love it. If guys know they have the 7th or the 8th or the 9th, they can prepare better in game. Besides, not all guys are built to get the last 3 outs. See Matt Thornton. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 12:48 PM) 16 straight scoreless. Sox pitching is good, but not THAT good. Twins lineup is just awful. That line up is a GreenSox wet dream. Except for hero worshipping the only guy who is hitting Mauer, prospects and more prospects. -

Being a Twins fan right now must really suck. 0-8, the team striking out so much. Is the 1 pitch out to lead off a game a positive because he didn't fan, or just more negative? If the Sox started out this bad, it would be pretty unbearable. -

How many runs can Latos give up today before he will be referred to as trash that needs to be replaced? -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 10:43 AM) Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan 1h1 hour ago Sox bullpen is 1-0 with a 1.27 ERA, 22 strikeouts and a .151 opponents average over 21 1/3 innings. That's a Kansas City special.

Bangkok red light "mission trip" saved Sox from LaRoche
Dick Allen replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 01:57 PM) Right, he backed off. Adam either forgot that KW backed off or intentionally omits it. He might not have backed off until LaRoche said he was retiring. We will never know. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 02:03 PM) Trayce is 25 now, I think he might be too old to be on a team of yours anyway. Besides, if he has one good full season, he becomes a hero, and hero worshipping is bad. He would have to be traded for a meddling prospect or 2. -

QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 01:48 PM) He trashed the organization by saying the organization made me choose, and I pick my son over all of my teammates." The big point in the story is the he says KW asked him to dial back the kid's presence and he said no. He then states that KW told him that his son wasn't allowed at all. KW insisted that there was no comment that he wasn't allowed. You can believe who you want but considering others children have been allowed into the clubhouse since the incident, I'll go with KW's side. If that is the case Adam lied about the situation to make the organization look bad. KW admitted he told him zero access, then backed off. -
The White Sox have been batting close to .000 with these toolsy guys who needed a lot of development. They are due for one to come through. This would be a good one.

Trever Bauer crashed drone into new scoreboard

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 03:05 PM) I mean, we should get Lindor right? That seems pretty fair. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 03:03 PM) Oh interesting, I saw on the news they said there wasnt any damage. they should send us a good player for that. It looks like a crack from underneath it. I had no idea a drone crashed into it when I saw it. I thought maybe it was just part of what was on the board when I walked by. But definitely damage, although when I was sitting behind the dugout, you can't see anything wrong with the board. -

He claimed he shut if off well before it would hit the scoreboard. Then how did it clear the fan deck? -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 02:41 PM) Where? Left lower corner. There is a big white spot. I actually was there Saturday and it was quite noticeable when you walked by. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 02:24 PM) This was covered awhile ago, they said it never actually made contact that he turned it off before it got there. No. He said that. The damage to the board kind of tells another story. -

QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 12:49 PM) i don't know if its a love per se, but what the sox have on hand to be used. meaning what internal options. i just hope things gets better, as someone said, it will take a month of so to figure things out. The team is 5-2 and in first place. Why do you hope things get better? When people were booing Danks at the home opener the Cleveland broadcast crew said something along the lines of from the sounds of it, you would think the White Sox are 11 games back. Why can't White Sox fans enjoy 5-2? Avi has had a slow start and he probably isn't any good, but he is better than a .160 hitter with a .530 OPS. It would be shocking if Jose Abreu doesn't have a 7 game stretch where he puts up a .530 OPS or less. It happens. -

One guy who will get called up for baserunning and defense alone in September if the Sox are contending and he isn't hurt or traded is Engel. -

QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 10:35 AM) He's not going anywhere. Let's bring up Robin replacements. That's another dead horse that could use a few more whacks. White Sox are in first place. How JR, KW and RH don't see massive changes need to take place at this point is hard to believe. -
QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 10:36 AM) I'm not sure anyone is panicking. But it was around this time last year it was pretty clear Beckham was reserve infielder of choice and Bonifacio was behind both him and shuck for time...and he barely played. Granted he later sucked but Robin just doesn't seem to need that 2nd reserve player. Especially with LaRoche out, our team has so much more flexibility with LF/RF that Sands just has no place, especially with not being a RHP masher or speedy or defensively gifted. They also haven't seen many lefties. Eventually they will. Guys will get hot, guys will get cold. Coming to conclusions 7 games into a season is nuts. Someone might get hurt tomorrow.
