KW: play is "embarassing" but team can still win ALC
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 02:39 PM) So Kenny Williams is the one in charge and you think he's the most important one to remove to solve this roster construction debacle. I'm ok with that. This guy should get fired, that guy should get fired. The Red Sox fired their pitching coach so at least their fans got that. Since you think everyone should be fired, who should be hired? What players should be acquired? Since you seem to always think you have all the answers, why don't you let us in on a few?

Dan Jennings
Yeah, I think you just have to hope he can find it again. This could have been a spot for Surkhamp. He was awesome there for a while, but batting practice the last 4 weeks for the most part.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 09:40 PM) Kim Kardashian West ✔@KimKardashian Can't wait til my website is active! I'm gonna do live video streaming so every time someone talks s*** I can go blast the f--k outta them Kim Kardashian should at least be a mod here. That would at least be more entertaining than this season so far. Your giddiness about White Sox losses is annoying enough. Kim Kardashian tweets in a gamethread is ridiculous.

QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 09:37 PM) Gallo is pretty fun to watch. Psyched to see his ABs. If he plays against Sale and holds his own, it would really be imoressive. I think it isn't going to go so well for him tomorrow

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 09:37 PM) I make Noesi eat this inning no matter what happens rest of the way. I agree. I don't know what happened to Jennings. He was cruising earlier this year, but the wheels have fallen off. Noesi better show he can pitch out of the bullpen or he is going to have to get a real job.

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 09:29 PM) No, I don't think they will either. Not to mention the fact that they've already got the lucky wins in the bag, they have so many hitters performing historically bad compared to their career totals that I can't help but imagine there'll be some improvement. But I would wager that they'll have a higher pick than the 11th pick they currently hold. A really predictive number says they are the worst team in baseball and you won't take the bet? I guess it really isn't all that predictive.

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 09:17 PM) They're the worst team in baseball according to BaseRuns, which is really predictive http://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=BaseRuns (sort via W column in the 2015 BaseRuns section) I bet they won't have the first pick in the 2016 draft. Care to wager?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 09:12 PM) Unless he pitches so terribly that it becomes such a risk to give $15+ million for one year that he actually takes it...waiting for a rebound season so that he can re-establish his value for the big 4-6 year deal. If they were ready to offer him the moon, I am sure they would take him back for one year.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 09:07 PM) His advanced numbers coming into today were the worst of his career since he became a starter. Frankly his HR rate was actually a bit low coming into today so yeah. So they will just look at the ERA and trade off that. OK. Hahn will just take the draft pick. I just looked it up, his FIP coming in was the best of his career as a starter before tonight except for last season. Now it is the worst, but barely. His k rate is down one a game, switch to AL could explain that. Frankly, maybe this is just what he is. I have never been a fan, but hopefully he could get on a roll like he was on when the Cubs dealt him.

So you are saying teams that want to trade for Samardjiza will only look at his ERA and not his advanced numbers?

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 03:36 PM) Uh, Fred watched the NBA a TON. He'd watch them, and have his assistants go and find film from those games for him to install at ISU. He ran a Bulls set at ISU.

QUOTE (reiks12 @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 08:18 PM) Melky should have caught that foul ball, he didn't even try. Probably scared to make a play against the wall I think it bounced off someone in the stands.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 07:55 PM) Beckham tried for a forceout at 2nd when he should have gone to 1st and Gallo hit a ball that took a bad 2nd hop that could have been fielded by LaRoche...but Samardzija didn't pitch his way out of it, either. On paper, no errors. In reality, it should have been 0-0 going into the top of the 2nd. Beckham had no shot at first. The bad play was LaRoche not being in front of the ball.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 07:31 PM) Alexei with that sparkling .246 OBP. And that .323 from Avi seems like it is the lightest .323 I can remember in a long time. It just seems like a guy with that many hits, but only 18 RBIs, clearly isn't hitting when it matters. Everyone sucks. It is hopeless. You should watch something else.

Samardjiza isn't exactly dazzling in the first again. Probably should have been out of it with 0, but they are makimg good contact.

KW: play is "embarassing" but team can still win ALC
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 02:13 PM) The reason team took a major nose dive was because of 1 man KW, yet he still is around in the decision making process. KW drafting skills or lack there of killed this organization. Does he get fired hell no, he gets promoted, that is insanity! Just look at 2010. Thome wanted to come back and was willing to play for $1 million. Ozzie said no. JR said Ozzie deserved to manage the team he wanted. Kotsay DH'd. Put up a -1.3 WAR. Thome put up a 3 WAR for the Twins. They finished 6 games ahead of the White Sox. Who knows what happens if the Sox had a real hitter DHing.I am not a big KW fan, although he gets credit for a WS, but to put the blame on one person cannot be accurate, at all.

KW: play is "embarassing" but team can still win ALC
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 02:01 PM) Then spending $100 million of additional funds on this roster with veterans over 30 who you expect to gradually get worse and more likely to be injured each year and trading for a major addition with 1 year on his contract was absolutely foolhardy. If your team isn't ready to compete right now, why on Earth are you spending money on free agents? Why on Earth are you trading players for a guy who won't be here in a year? You can think what you want, obviously in your world you are either horrible and rebuilding or a World Champion or someone needs to be fired. Baseball isn't as black and white as you seem to think.

KW: play is "embarassing" but team can still win ALC
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 01:55 PM) The fact is, 10 teams make the playoffs every year. (formerly 8) The White Sox haven't been one of those teams in seven years with the same people in the front office. This is Hahn's 3rd season as the GM. He took over a team whose shelf life expired and was pretty bad. He's done a lot the last 3 years to make things bearable. I still think they will be entertaining this summer.

KW: play is "embarassing" but team can still win ALC
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 01:36 PM) In that case, the people who chose these players are at the top of the list of White Sox problems. The fact is, one team wins every year. It generally takes more than a year or two to build a champion, and there rarely are champions that remain champions for several consectutive years. Hahn said they weren't where they wanted to be at the beginning of this. They knew they are still short in certain areas, but to say, well you tried to win so either the guy that put your roster together or the guy that manages your team or both are idiots who need to be fired is beyond meatheaded. That would mean there would be a huge turnover every year with almost every team.

KW: play is "embarassing" but team can still win ALC
QUOTE (Special K @ Jun 2, 2015 -> 12:58 PM) Under what scenario do you ever consider changing the manager and his staff? When your staff is mailing it in, not doing what you expect them to do. These guys watch them every day. We don't. People just assume Robin shows up, gets dressed and sits there bored to tears waiting for the game to end so he can go home. Articles, like this one, speak of the entire staff's work ethic. Stone was talking about the White Sox staff the other day saying they are there to help almost all day long. They come early, stay late, give them extra BP, extra fielding, additional side sessions for pitchers if requested. People love to see other people get fired. That's one reason Trump's show is still on the air. From the bits and pieces we get at the full story, not the little you see on TV and assume, the coaching staff and manager is the least of the White Sox problems.
