I heard good things and I am buying one this summer.

Why would the MLBPA care about the size of the minor leagues and I would have thought they would want the number of options decreased but I also didn't really understand why the MLBPA care about an international draft.

I go to about 20 games a year. I find free parking, walk a little bit and then spend less then $10 in the game. Tickets can be had for a pretty cheap price. The price of a baseball game is much lower than any other sport and other than beer concession prices food can be had at a comparative price. I can easily spend $150 a game but can find ways not to as well.

This is all about the small market owner v the big market owner. There only needs to be 8 dissenters from ownership. I would guess the players would take a hard cap with a ceiling and a floor but the floor would be the issue. The Pirates can suck forever getting extra picks and funding from the league. Who cares about the fans and the reality of the baseball.

The problem with your stance is that as a stand alone nobody is watching 90% of these sports in real time. It is similar to what will happen one day with the NCAA. As crappy as it is the IOC and NBC give these athletes that as on their own they will not generate any revenue for themselves. Nobody cares about Curling, Bobsled, Biathlon etc. except for the Olympics. After the US lost yesterday I am done with Curling for the next four years but i watched every match. It is similar to soccer in the US. Other than the World Cup nobody cares about American soccer. NBC takes a bit of a risk (rather small) on what they are paying to cover the games and the hope should be that the IOC is funding the USOC and in turn they are supplying the training and facilities needed for these athletes to compete annually and provide a solid product in four years at the Olympics. I am not naïve enough to believe this is what is happening but hopefully a portion of it is.

The Olympics should immediately change their policy that you need to be at least 18 years old to compete if that is the stance they are going to take as the Russians and Chinese cannot help themselves. Her results in the singles program and the reaction of the ROC women's team even when winning is such a bad look for the humanity of the Olympics. It is still the 1950's in that country.

I have worked in schools for the last 15 years after leaving the corporate world both private and public schools. My take is that public schooling is dying. I am not certain why but there is no connection to community and school any longer and it is a manufactured environment. I think you need that "village" mentality and that is missing. With the division of people within a community it is getting worse. I live in Chicago and the public school system receives $28K a student and fails miserably. In private school you can educate student for about $15K.

I don't know the dollars and cents but the minor league reductions may be tied to the poor working conditions. If the pay is increased by 20% the headcount needs to be reduced by 20%. I'm not sure about the guys living in their cars and eating mayonnaise sandwiches but this feels like an attempt to cut back on those jobs and whittling down the filler guys more and more. You'd have to look into the support minor league teams receive from their MLB affiliation to really see what the cost is to the owners.

Different strokes for different folks. It is every other year. I personally don't really care for the summer games but the winter games are oddly cool to me. I watch a little bit of a lot of the odd sports (skeleton, bobsled, ski jumping, Nordic combined) but have now somehow gotten into curling which is the olympic version of bowling so what the hell. People could say that binge watching Netflix is a waste of time as well and that is much more time consuming.

So starting pitchers over the last three springs 2020 got ramped up and ready to go, shut down for 4 months, got somewhat ramped up for a redacted season 2021 had a full season to tryand build back to a normal work laod 2022 will have a shortened spring to try and get back up to speed at some time in order to be as effective as possible for what ever this season is and whenever it begins Do not for a second think the owners care about the game of baseball. When Paul Konerko handed the baseball to Jerry Reinsdorf I believed they did, I was probably wrong then and am certain about it now. Yet I continue to pay monthly for my season tickets.

The problem with Yellowstone is going to be like Sons of Anarchy if they go over he top. SOA went from a bunch of biker dolts to master mind criminals...Yellowstone already has some of that engrained in the fabric from day one so it can be realistic without being too over the top. The end of season 3 was over the top and I am glad they walked in back in this season as to not Jump the Shark.

So he is a junior in high school playing JUCO, I got it now.

He should have never have gone to college. Everyone pines for Harbaugh but he isn't lighting up the college scene and he has greater history and resources at Michigan than U of I. I was not upset to see Lovie leave but think he was kind of shafted in the end by the Bears and moving forward the situation has not improved.

The US head coach as he gets the easy win but that is about it. I cannot believe that the fans enjoyed it. Two Honduran players were treated for hypothermia. Just a really bad idea.

I don't think the question is the quality of the play it is the outside the lines issues.

I was thinking the same thing this morning listening to talk radio talk about the Blackhawks.
