I love the new narrative after beating Colorado and Pittsburgh that they are a few big free agent signings away from being the top team in the NL Central.

Baseball is very different than any sport. There is not a flip of the switch mentality that I worry about. It is the total randomness of baseball I worry about. Pitching is max effort, every other aspect is single opportunity. Every other sport is 100% effort all of the time.

After the 60 game season last year this is the obvious road to choose. Will it work out, we shall see but to think this is not an ideal plan is foolish. I could be getting hoodwinked here but the IL stints seem to be neatly organized with the numerous off days and Cleveland continuing to scuffle and gaining zero ground.

I think this is a case of the games catching up with him as well as the fatigue of learning a couple of new positions. I think they need to sit him and make a call on the playoffs. If the team is healthy I am not certain there is a spot for him in October but I think they need to look at rewarding him with a spot at the same time as he is a long term option and really has given everything for this team this year.

Real good win. Stinks Houston won but if Cole is out that is a blow to the Yanks. They need to address the Vaughn situation as it is becoming crazy how bad he is with men in scoring position. You notice that all of this issues arose when they have many off days and prior to a tough road trip. These also coincide with the fact the Indians have not gained ground and the offense is just now back to normal. Rodon is not even on the IL. He is just pushed back. Rodon has always had lower velocity early in games and then turns it up. To use the drop in velocity as a sign that there are issues seems a little too neat. My guess is they are seizing an opportunity to push them all back because they had the off days. Of all these things I am most concerned with, the fact Kopech is kind of getting lost is top of the list. Tonight would be a perfect night for a few innings from him to start in the big pitcher's park.

For AT&TV I pay for NBCSN and Marquee together as a two channel package that I can cancel . Does not impact other sports package channels.

Without any content other than games I will be pulling the plug on NBCSN the day after the White Sox season ends. I don't watch the Bulls and Hawks enough to put a nickel into the Marquee pot. The Bears postgame is kind of good but without video that show is pretty lame. Still photos used to tell a story does not work. I have the new Direct TV (old AT&TV) internet thing and you can turn things that the NBCSN/Marquee package rather easily.
