  1. Who are the relievers that you recall being good around July 31st? You cannot have enough quality bullpen arms. The Sox have built a pen that is deep and realistically could have guys pitch every other day without a worry. This structure has allowed them to have pitchers only go 4 to 6 innings a game and still save their pen. It was as big a need as any then. Please do not tell me Codi Heuer was they guy to rely on with Evan Marshall. Was RF a bigger need, probably but if you were getting Gallo this board would be more a of a dumpster fire over him they it is over Kimbrel.
  2. I think your angle was off. He was not near the wall. He cut straight across and overran it. He needed to go back and over a little. Easy for me to say. The ball seemed to have been hit really hard but he seemed to just play it wrong.
  3. I still say our record in one run games is more a product of not being able to score late to tack on runs, bad/dumb defense and then questionable management. I think the bullpen useage is exposed becasue of the inability to really bury teams like they were doing earlier in the year which has kept games close.
  4. The only one that has been consistently better than Kimbrel is Crochet. The catcher blocking a pitch in the dirt and CF making a play he is expected to and it is a sweep and great weekend for Kimbrel.
  5. Has a hockey feel to them this year.
  6. All about timing. We faced New York at the wrong time same with Houston. Means nothing in October. Not one word in the winning game thread about Lance Lynn who was masterful as was Rodon.
  7. I liked that Kimbrel did limit the damage. I was at the game as well. Huge crowds all weekend. Wonder what the attendance comparison was for cub and Sox. Robert took a terrible route then over ran it. Offense needs to be better. So glad Wright did not have to pitch.
  8. As well as limiting starters innings
  9. The inability to add runs late is what is impacting the pen most of all to me.
  10. The guy everyone wanted, Gallo was a worse trade.
  11. Be nice to walk it off before the Wright show day 2.
  12. This is frustrating. Get em tomorrow. Awful outing for cease. Sox can't hit bullpen it seems.
  13. Who do you want to see in there?
  14. Pen isn't reliable either.
  15. He was unhittable and just lost it. Cease needs to pitch more than 2.2 innings. To b**** about LaRussa is foolish
  16. What an epic fucking meltdown and absolute failure of an outing. Cease and Kopech need to figure it out. Why throw an offspeed pitch to Dalbach. Just throw fastballs. Survived 2 innings with it why change. No they will get no hit the rest of the way.
  17. This is pathetic. Come on... get hit hard, walking 3 guys up 2 in the 3rd is just bad.
  18. Lost control...ugh can't just lose it like that.
  19. Yesterday we got a 3 run HR
  20. All in the house next door to the House that Ruth built. Which makes it even more amazing. Talk about playing a team at the wrong time when we played the Yankees. The White Sox can get swept in the first round and not score a run and it will have nothing to do with how they are playing on September 10th.
  21. That is possibly the case but the conversation I was referring to was for the current landscape.
  22. 9 strikeouts and 7 base runners that is terrible
  23. There does appear to be very few late inning comebacks this season
