Bieber is not coming back any time soon and if he does it will be a couple of games to make certain he is fully healthy for next year. It would be sad if the Sox offense cannot reach their potential as that is what is making things a little more dull at this time. This stretch ending next Monday was always going to be a telltale sign. Thus far it is average, 5-5. Go 7-7 and it is what it is but after this things are more manageable. 2 off days next week Off days each of the following two weeks Then 14 games in 13 days before Then two off days again the last week of the season. Get through these four games.

Hopefully the offense can figure something out soon.

Crochet needed to get Phillips out. The intentional walk was the right move. Cruz the other night, same thing. Guys need to do their job. The whining about LaRussa is justified at times but today it's a lack of offense as it was yesterday and for most of Friday. Tampa started shit pitchers and the offense did nothing. Maybe the offense needs to do something.

More 2 out runs....what a fantastic idea

Crochet is pitching well enough to say the bullpen has 6 guys that can close a game for them. Offense needs to gain consistency. That said he has to put Phillips away there.

Until the offense especially the top of the order finds some consistency they will struggle. Other than the Bassit injury it seems like the opposing pitcher breezes through the first 3 or 4 innings.

Sox are 3-1 against the best team in the AL

Defense is going to make mistakes. The Cease bases loaded walk and piss poor hitting from Hernandez and Moncada are why they lost. I look at the pitching matchups for Tampa and hope this lineup is rearranged to be more consistent. The Sox have still not seen great pitching in a while and won't this weekend....at least from the Rays starters. Although the Sox cannot seem to jump on a starter early.

That's not news. This team should kill LHP. He is there to hit RHP which he does.

He seems to now be a prime candidate for mailing it in after the contract extension. Talk about Vaughn 2 out RISP but Moncada has hit middle order all season and has no power or ability to drive in a run. He also can't play 2B so we were hamstrung when Madrigal went down yet Vaughn can play anywhere with a fraction of the athletic ability. Starting to almost hate Moncada.

A's LHP seems to have pitched around AV twice today.

The White Sox have thrown 137 pitches the A's 98. That is the thing that has driven me nuts about the Sox for a number of years and it becomes magnified when they play teams like the Yankees and A's. The White Sox give away way too many at bats with quick easy outs.

Really is his saving grace along with some pop. I think if put in the right matchups and as a backup he could be fine. Having catchers with certain pitchers is killing the limited offense of both he and Seby. Collins was a bat first guy when drafted but this year has been brutal.

Moncada is looking like the poster child for mailing it in. This offense is maddening.

I am a Madrigal fan but the experience of Hernandez (hoping he gets out of his current slump both offensively and defensively) is more valuable now than Madrigal especialyy in a post season. Hernandez hitting 9th is sexy as F.

And someone claims that the Madrigal trade will be worse than Tatis trade. These threads are amazing.

Offense was abysmal and made this a game. If Bummer can't throw more than 20 pitches than he's not that great of an option. Kimbrel and Kopech available tomorrow is not a bad thing......unless the offense is shut down again.

This offense just gives up way too many quick and easy outs. Watching NY and Oak work counts v 2 pitch outs.

Anderson cannot leadoff and Moncada needs to move out of the middle of the order.

They will over pay a handful of guys that are chasing the money to fill the park and then hope and pray they have the next Hendricks and Arrieta laying around in the organization.

So they are going to have 5 Jason Heyward contracts next season.
