Time for the Felipe paulino era to come to an end.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 02:34 PM) The most puzzling in-game move by the Sox was not throwing a 2 strike offspeed pitch to Sizemore in the 9th. Instead, they kept calling for high fastballs. In a spot where you want either a strike out or ground ball, I thought the pitch selection was ridiculous. Having Cleto throw anything other than a fastball was stupid. Through two games you can see the Red Sox will take pitches so to try and surprise them with the change ups and other s*** Cleto could not get close to the plate was ridiculous.

I believe they can DFA him and pull him back if claimed. Can this be used for a fresh arm in the pen for a day or two. If he clears waivers he can then be sent down.

The world series game had pitchers batting kind of a big difference. You should not run out of pitchers in an American League extra inning game. 1. The Sox need a long reliever 2. Webb should have pitched the 8th and Lindstrom the 9th 3. Cleto should not have pitched the 9th It would have been a nice game to win. The walks meant nothing. Ventura tried to get cute with the LHH/LHP match-ups. Farrell messed up by pitching to Ramirez. Oh and De Aza sucks.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 12:01 PM) Eating at, and getting to, Brookfield Zoo is just as ridiculous. They charge for parking for single day visits as well. Go anywhere, museum, movie, great america is like a vacation in and of itself, zoo, local carnival for christ sake. Start at about $50 and go from there. A White Sox game is no more expenses than those.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 11:06 AM) He didn't do that with Cleto. I'm not sure why Lindstrom didn't start off the 9th. and Webb the 8th.

Webb continues to be extended and taking one for the team and he is the best reliever. Once again they need a long man.

US Celluar is the most easily accessible stadium in Chicago and has the best ammenities. There are no neighborhood places to go after Bears, Bulls or Blackhawk games. Metra built a stop for the White Sox and usage was so low they discontinued the post game train and run nothing special for the White Sox except possibly on Opening Day. White Sox fans could be among the worst in sports.

If Rodon is being misused by NC State this year imagine what they would do to him next year if he went back.

By the end of this year there will be no doubt on the status of Viciedo, Danks and De Aza moving forward. -
QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 8, 2014 -> 01:16 PM) Toews is Day to Day and suddenly sits out the rest of the regular season? Day to day in hockey speak could be a season.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 01:12 AM) I hate GOT because of what my brain drew during the books. I read fifty pages of the book after the first season and then decided I would just stick to the television adaptation. I may read the books and then rewatch all of them again.

Am i way off base in wondering what Saad does so much better than Morin. It feels to me, I could be wrong, but Saad seemed to benefit from playing on a line with elite talent. Doesn't hurt that every teenage girl thinks he is dreamy.

Kansas City Royals vs Chicago White Sox 3:10 PM

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 04:08 PM) Gordon was taught that when he moved to the outfield though..... You can not teach instincts. You can work on positioning and taking good routes to a ball but the ability to react at the crack of the bat you cannot teach. Cal Ripken was a prime example of being able to read a ball off the bat immediately. I am not saying Garcia cannot improve he can, in certain facets and his speed will help but he will always have flaws and be inconsistent. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 04:07 PM) Really? Because honestly I just don't buy that. Jim Edmonds v Rob Mackowiak, one had a great ability to read a bat off the bat the other did not. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 04:03 PM) See Gordon's initial backpedal. Garcia needs to learn that. That is instinct and Garcia does not have it. You can not teach a player to be a better outfielder. His speed will make up for some short comings. The ball in the first he should have gotten to. It would have been a good play but he still should have gotten there. The fact this organization thought he could be a center-fielder is a head scratcher though. -

The theme of giving the runs right back seems to be carrying over as much as the bad defense is. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 01:20 PM) Yes, but you lose parking, concession, and souvenier sales with 4500 vs. 10000. The problem is, the Sox could give away free upper deck tickets to the past couple of games and be nowhere near capacity in the upper deck. The upper deck at USCF has a stigma attached to it that will not go away. Even though there are many seats far better to watch a game in than many on the lower level, it really doesn't matter. Before they got good again, the Blackhawks used to give away free tickets on Ticketmaster from time to time usually near the end of the season. There still was about 8k at the game. That is the thing. I pay $40 a ticket I spend less in the park as I am pissed I spent $40 on a ticket. I get a free ticket, I spent $60 in the park because....I got a free ticket.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 02:55 PM) DJ and Dan Gladden both argue that he simply lost it in the lights...of course, it's easy to say he should have pulled up and just blocked it, preventing the 3rd run from scoring, but that's the correct play if you can't pick it up in RCF there. The lights only affect balls hit right at you. When you move toward the gap, the lights are not an issue as you are looking in more toward home plate where there is no light standard. Either way, Garcia is going to struggle in the outfield and hopefully his bat will make up for it. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 02:52 PM) So you have the opinion the worst fielder in the OF plays in left? That is the prevailing theory in baseball not really just a unique opinion I hold.
