  1. Northwestern football hopes to compete in the Big Ten sneak into a BCS on occasion and get a bowl bid for fans. They hope to play hard and be competitive annually. They do not have the horses or depth to compete with a Big Ten schedule and tough out of conference schedule. Illinois I am not sure what they think they should be but they should get deeper talent in the door than Northwestern.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 17, 2012 -> 11:29 AM) I'm sure you could make list that goes the other way as well. I know we beat up Smyly worse than anyone else has this year. When Brent Morel hits a three run homer with the team down by four or Eduardo Escobar hits a walk off two run shot, let me know.

  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2012 -> 08:33 PM) Top five in the Cubs offense is on fire heading into our weekend series. Fire? They have actually gotten some hits but it is about where the White Sox top five is. LaHair being an outlyer but I can not see that keeping up. How they took Pena over him last year is really bad baseball sense. That bullpen is a train wreck. I bet the cub bullpen throws six innings this weekend though and gives up nothing.
  5. Some things of note. Indians no home runs in 11 straight games, first game against the Sox, streak ends Ryan Raburn only home run, and batting .149 mind you, Sox pitcher allows him to change a game with a three run shot after hitting a guy and giving up a 6 run lead in a matter of seconds Jhonny Peralta only home run this year, walk off two run shot against White Sox Albert Pujols is stuggling this year....no worries White Sox pitching will get him back on track Yes the White Sox seem to able to let struggling players beat them. Appreciate the Game
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 16, 2012 -> 08:34 PM) Juan Pierre still sucks on defense That was awesome. How does he still play especially for a team that thinks it has playoff aspirations. Lawrie should have gotten hammered that was bush. The ump really did strike that night.
  7. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 16, 2012 -> 10:02 AM) Pujols had three hits last night He and Tori Hunter will homer twice and drive in at least 5 runs combined over the next two days. Hopefully the Sox can keep the Halos down.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 15, 2012 -> 04:18 PM) I think I tried to argue last year that we seriously need to stop trusting nuclear engineers as well. The Japanese agree with you
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 15, 2012 -> 08:06 PM) Carmelite nuns? where did that come from? was he in the "human baby pills" discussion too, lol? Mc = mount Carmel school run by the carmelites
  10. well Morel should be able to get a rally started
  11. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 15, 2012 -> 03:22 PM) This game is falling apart quickly especially if Ohman is left in. Game can very well be 9-6 real quickly. Yo Robin Ohman is a LOOGY get that through your f***ing head. If you want someone to face RHH he is not the guy.
  12. This game is falling apart quickly especially if Ohman is left in. Game can very well be 9-6 real quickly.
  13. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 15, 2012 -> 03:17 PM) because he's been fine all season till this very moment. you gotta have faith in your best starter. He had been struggling all day and when he hit Boesch that was a good indication that he was off and then Raburn homered and that should have told you that his day should have been done. Raburn is terrible yet in a big situation he just beat Peavy that leads me to believe that Peavy was tiring and should have been pulled with the bases empty and a 6-5 lead.
  14. Well that is not good. Ryan f***ing Raburn seriously he was batting .149 with 2 RBI on the season Never easy with this team Why the f*** is Peavy still in this game
  15. A defensive sub for LF would be nice for this game.
  16. Peavy pitching performance today is very similar to Humber's on Sunday. Amazing how different a game can look when you hit the ball.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 15, 2012 -> 03:00 PM) Fine, go ahead, praise Brent Morel and Gordon Beckham all you like. If we want to compete this year, one of them needs to contribute something. I am enjoying the game, but thanks for your concern, at any rate. Beckham does with his glove. Inge would look good but one of Lillibridge or Morel need to go somewhere.
  18. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 15, 2012 -> 03:00 PM) Watching on Gameday. Can somebody explain to me how Konerko scores from first on a single??? wild pitch moved the runners up 90 feet
  19. Well my negative outlook blew up in my face as the real hitters for the White Sox are getting the job done today.
  20. Sox looking like they think this one is in the bag. I bet Max goes deeper into this game then Peavy.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 15, 2012 -> 02:38 PM) The same if he isn't throwing strikes and putting guys on. I guess I was thinking more of a Danks pounding the zone and getting lit up.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 15, 2012 -> 02:34 PM) Ok, Jake, time to start pounding the zone. Let the pen have a short day. The lead is only 4-0 he pounds the zone and it will be tied quickly.
  23. Work the count and Max will not make it through the fourth.
  24. Dunn got a single Sunday on the outside two strike pitch that he flipped into left field.
  25. QUOTE (fathom @ May 15, 2012 -> 02:05 PM) He still looks way better than he did in April Looking at his hit tracker. He has not gotten a hit on a ball up in the zone. Not certain how accurate that is but it if true, that is very telling.
